  • We headed down to climb in Red Rocks, Las Vegas for our annual Thanksgiving trip. We were able to avoid the crowds on this sneaky little 5.8, 6 pitch route out of the White Rock Springs trailhead. This route was on the Angel Food Wall and was empty, likely due to it being in the shade all day, and we froze our asses off. Super fun route! The cruxes on pitch 2 and 5 were distinct and well protected. The descent was very chill despite some people opting to rappel directly off a poor tree. No raps were required, nor recommended due to it being all 3rd class terrain. The descent was also well marked by cairns. Don't stop short on pitch one, keep climbing past a roof on your right side and end at a nice ledge. Overall, I highly recommend this climb and it seems to have much less traffic than the other classics in the park, but the climbing was just as good.
