The plates don't always start where the overload dies, have had a few runs where if one team is faster than the other on second go around and kill both overloads it can cause weird plate starting zones, but with this challenge, the plates should start where the overload dies
Normal will also give you an extra chest, but it won't give you an Adept weapon. It will be another piece of random loot instead. So still worth doing if you want extra normal Raid loot
No, we had one team going sides and another going diagonals the whole time. We also had times where one team got both Overloads etc. So none of that mattered
I mean Adept Big Ones wasn't more damage, it was Major + Boss Spec in one. So against a boss a normal gun with Boss spec was the same damage Adepts now though still have things like "Adept Reload" etc which give you a small stat bonus, like an extra masterwork. Still not a big deal though so yeah normal crafted would be just as good

are the extra perks from triumph completion or progress?
Progressing the Triumph gives you a higher chance at the extra perks. I only had 2 / 6 and I got triple perks a couple of times

Nope seems like you just get the normal "challenge" triumph, but not the tick on the Master one

No I don't see anyone has it getting any progress
Nope, seems bugged unfortunately. Tested again afterwards and doesn't seem to work for anyone

Can master also be used to unlock the Pagon emblem ?
I assume that is the contest emblem. No it cannot be acquired and will never be able to acquired again now that contest mode is long over
