Des heures et des heures derrière l'instrument, à travailler, mais il faut simplement reconnaître que ce grand homme est unique et est au dessus des plus grands, c'est tout. Le 25 février 2012 j'ai chialé comme un gosse quand j'ai appris que tu ne serais plus là...J'écoute ta musique le plus souvent possible et j'en reste toujours sidéré...Merci

Caleb Hudson plays piccolo trumpet really well, too (Also Baroque pieces) Sergei Nakariakov is super in my opinion but he doesn't play Baroque pieces, not comparable here.
Knowing that Mauce Andeé had transcribed so many concertos for oboi ot flute, taking advantage of the new trumpet, I do not know if the original concerto is for trumpet or not. F. X. Richter was a composer from the Mannheim school. After a long series of researches, he settled down in Starsburg. He was friend with Mozart, who joked him about the quantity of wine he was able to drinhk !!!!!
We can now never ask him now how he did it but his super high tones come out so sparkling and magical. It sounds to me like they differ in color and resonance like he completely changes his "cavities" to produce them. As we all know, high notes = fast air, high palate so I wonder if he does the work by "shooting" supersonic pockets of air from the back with his very muscular tongue and throat muscles. His technique doesn't sound jazzy neither but very classical and that gives the impression he has found some secret that other classical players could find too. He himself thought others could do it too, that it was only hard work. I doubt it, we see the same with jazz high players how they try to convey their "method" but don't succeed with everybody. If there was a consistent general method to do this, it would be part of everybody's training and repertoire. Modern science doesn't has all the answers yet about trumpet playing.

Ich habe es von Reinhold Friedrich vor ca 15 Jahre in Winterthur (CH) begleitet vom Zürcher Kammerorchester spielen gehört (ich war damals Mitglied des Orchesters) , und er hat es fabelhaft gespielt ! m.ullrich
I agree - it's a sublime performance. Took me some digging, but I was able to find out. Looks to be a very early recording, from 1966. I found it listed in the comprehensive discography database here - www.maurice-andre.fr/repertoire.xls, at line 404 in the spreadsheet. It was a Deutsche Grammophone vinyl recording, which was re-released in the 2003 2 CD collection "The Trumpet Shall Sound" - amazon.com/Maurice-André-trumpet-shall-sound/dp/B000VG7TD4.
Such a fantastic player, it's a pity he never played a natural trumpet to be able to play this concertos and others in the closest possible way to the way they were played in the time they were composed.
c'est un des concertos les plus difficiles pour la trompette dans le suraigu seul maurice était capable de le jouer .Certains trompettistes de jazz qui se croient tres forts seraient incapables de jouer ce concerto comme bergeron par exemple qui se croit très fort
