  • A mosquito becomes infected with malaria when it bites an infected human. Once inside the mosquito, the parasites reproduce in the gut and accumulate in the salivary glands, ready to infect another human host with the next bite.
Learn how one of the most dangerous mosquito-borne diseases is transmitted with this educational animation on the malaria life cycle.

    2. Does Ookinete have any motile structure for movement, how it moves?

      1. By mitosis. They divide by Sporogony
      2. It moves when it is shaped sharply curved like it's shown in the video. They have no structures for movement 'cause they are only one cell

Wonderful animation! However mosquito never infected with disease, rather than malaria infected mosquito better to say parasite infected mosquito. However, in the case of human we can say malaria infected human.

Here to research methods of cellular takeover for a project. Trying to form an organism that takes over its host and assimilates its body with an end product being a plausible shapeshifter. I've seen so far that it's a long process that'd have to involve many steps, from infection, to immune takeover and so on. It's actually looking like it might be possible too.

I thought of and discovered a weakness for this parasite?
The weakness is actually a type of virus that only targets certain stages of plasmodium life cycle,
Theses not so theoretical viruses will follow the parasites life cycle, and in the process prevent any of the stages from happening,
But these viruses also need infected mosquitoes in order to continue its life cycle?

It is actually a little unusual(or very interesting), because the way sporozoa reproduces inside mosquitoes,
Is very similar to what other organisms are doing, and this type of sexual reproduction in protists,
Is what I call pre/proto sexual reproduction, this process means before mating.
And the way sporozoa reproduces sexually inside hosts, makes them more similar to animals, then other protists!
