I have the same mica powders. I've been making my own colors for almost 10 years. But, a little mica goes a LONG way. You may not even need as much as you are using. The color and payoff would still be the same even if using a bit less. And I've learned with mica I don't even have to add white to make it opaque.

I make a lot of my own dip powders! The only thing I do is put my model ones acrylic powder in my ninja and make it a bit “finer” for my dip powders. Mica powders are “shimmery” where as chalk seems more “matte”, if that makes sense? Vinyl glitters don’t “run” and many companies sell them. I love these colors!🥰

Pigments and glitters are amazingly fun! Use an older drill when using the chalk because it can kill a drill (I speak from experience on that one...UGH!). Try a mortar and pestle to grind down your chalk acrylics. It may pound out some of the chunks.

Isabel mae uses ikea napkins over her dust collector to save or extend the life of her dust collector filter. She tosses them after.... I use the method now too. It's a God send! They are 2ply and u separated them and cut them and use one part . The suction of the dust collector holds it in place for projects like this! U don't have ruin a filter with colors cuz they can be expensive after a while or use them all the time to extend the life of ur filter! Check out her page on how she uses it!

They’re all really is so beautiful so glad you tried the Mica powders I like to do them with some iridescent glitter like fine iridescent glitter. If they’re feeling a little chalky and not as buttery add a little bit more clear to them and that should make them absolutely perfect it’s so hard to pick a color they’re all so beautiful

Use a small strainer when grinding chalk because you will not mess up your drill. Plus it’s less of a mess. And use a motar and pestle will mix the chalk up better and make it fine.

I LOVE the "white" mica's in this set, I have the same one. They each have a different color shift, but when you mix it with acrylic it makes them a shimmery nude, with different shifts. I was surprised when they came out a nude color.

I know this is like my 3rd comment on this one video, 😂 here is a tip when using chalk. First I use pastels instead of like school chalk. I have would use a drill first, then either a mortar and pestal, or when I am feeling lazy I just put the chalk I've crushed with just a tiny bit of acrylic and put it inside a tiny zip bag, like the ones that different size nail tips come in or different nail art. Anyway, then I just rub it between my fingers for a little, then pour it in the jar with the full amount of acrylic you wanna use, shake it, and there are no chunks. I mean you can add the chalk to the full amount of acrylic u plan to make for that mix and rub it into the bag that way. But I find it's just easier to put a tiny bit in and then rub it between ur fingers so the bag is still flat and not bloated with product. I am so bad at explaining, so if you would are having a hard time understanding what I'm explaining, I can send you a picture on IG or something. Trust me it makes it so much easier and makes the chalk so much more approachable. Because sometimes a solid acrylic is preferred over shimmers.

Love watching ppl make custom acrylics but your using way to much mica compared to how much acrylic you have...a tiny bit of mica goes a long way

This was my first time ever using mica powder so I wasn’t sure how much to use and I liked how they all turned out! ❤️

Why do you pick up your beads like that😱 please watch some professionals and learn how to pick up beads properly. Your poor brushes. You probably go through them so fast or have to soak them in acetone after every application. Wow that hurt to watch 😬
