      Hey Michael thanks for the support mate! So you're going to go ahead with the build? Super exciting

      Going to go Rapsodo for month in basement. 7 iron max. So get options tee areas ECT. Using net and ipad Air m2 chip. I than have time to watch continued Nova content. So still not sure. Would prefer not to have gaming computer cost @@JLagGOLF

    That’s a colorful scorecard, Joe! Thanks for the honest feedback. I’m sure the unit will improve after some tweaking but there’s certainly a lot of good to take from these tests. Cool unit overall

      Thanks mate! Yes I have no doubt it will continue to improve. Like all these launch monitors it takes time.. different set ups and environments bring something new and raise different issues. It's a super exciting time for Sim golf.. the next few years I think we will see a lot of new and capable launch monitors.

    I just thought of a super cool comparison video you could do if you have a second computer….you could run GSPro on two separate computers, same course, separate launch monitors. Ie protee on one and nova on the other for comparison of numbers etc. that would be super cool to see!

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  15 дней назад +1

      Yes I could do this as I have my gaming laptop there but the issue is I would need two GS Pro licences. The other thing is really it's not required because the raw metrics when you compare any of these units are going to be the same regardless of the software used. So I can run the Protee on GS Pro and the Nova just on the web interface and then just look at raw metrics being ball speed, HLA, VLA, Spin and spin axis 👍 the bigger problem is the possible interference between both units.

      Excellent thoughts. Thanks for all you do in the community. Your videos have helped me on multiple occasions between my R10, the mevo+ unit I am using, projector interference, etc. really appreciate you! I look forward to all the content you release.

    Might be a stupid question, but Is this unit only set up for right hand golfers? Congrats on 10K!

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  8 дней назад

      Not a silly question! You absolutely can.. lefties can use the launch monitor and hit over it so having it between them and the ball. So you can use this for left and right handed players at the same time as long as you have the room for them to swing in your room.

    Can’t believe you didn’t have the advanced lighting setting on! The clouds and shadows are the best part

    Anyone you know of developing an affordable overhead launch monitor? Love your work, thanks!!

      I know of someone who is going to eventually have one but right now is working on a side mounted LM. Eventually they will be on the market I have no doubt.. tech will start to get cheaper and better over the next 5 to 10 years

    As somone said, just wrap a little electrical tape around the square sensor stickers when not using

      I was asked not to be the Devs because they wanted to come up with a fix just incase this or something random like this happens. They want the data to make their data capturing more accurate 👍👍

    Forgot i had questions on Nova. So on Ledges vid are you using direct connect ie. Phone tablet to run GSpro on is it running on your gaming computer. Also will a control box work with Nova?

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  14 дней назад

      GS Pro requires a pretty decent gaming computer to run.. especially some of the newer courses if you're trying to run them 4k ultra. If you only want to run them 1080p and are happy reducing the graphics quality then you can get away with a cheaper graphics card say something like a 4060. Yes my brainbox controller works as that's Bluetooth to the PC so they are using different protocols. The Nova connects to your wifi 👍

      @@JLagGOLFso confused does Nova run in the cloud and can use ipad Air to connect and play courses? Or does it run locally and need a gaming computer?

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  14 дней назад

      @@michaelackley1560needs a gaming PC to play GS Pro or TGC locally.
      It does use a web browser to access their portal which at this stage is just going to give you your data. In the future there will be different games and challenges you can do on there.

    Do you still have the same laptop, with the RTX 3060 graphics card? If so do you think the 3060 is still adequate for the newer courses? Thanks in advance!

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  14 дней назад +1

      No I have upgraded when I partnered with Bayside Golf and now use the Albatross package that comes with a 4k capable PC. This has a 4070 super card in it. Even with this BEAST of a PC I still see a few frame rate drops on the newer courses. I don't think the 3060 would work very well on these newer courses. You would definitely be able to play GS Pro but you would probably only be able to do 1080 and then on some of the newer courses reduce the graphics setting a bit so instead of ultra drop it back to high or medium graphic settings.

      @JLagGOLF  15 дней назад +1

      It is an indoor unit only but people have used it in their garage with the door open. It hasn't really been tested outside.b

    How is GSPro working out club data? I like lots of the ideas behind this monitor but not getting club data is a deal breaker.

    • @hjlamb
      @hjlamb 15 дней назад +1

      GSPro doesn't use club data for any calculations within game play - it simply reports whatever data is provided from the LM.

    • @jonnygreatrex3377
      @jonnygreatrex3377 14 дней назад

      @ yes but I thought Nova was avowedly not doing club data? So where has GSPro got the club path from?

    • @hjlamb
      @hjlamb 14 дней назад +1

      @@jonnygreatrex3377 I'm not sure where that data is coming from but if you watch, you'll see that it never changes. Maybe it is an artifact in the Open API from a different session.

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  13 дней назад +2

      HJ hit the nail on the head I was using the Protee and switched over mid session so that club data is hung over from that LM. 👍👍
