@@DavidSmith-cr7mb if I didn't have a friend keeping power going until I got to coal plants I wouldn't have been able to stick with it. The early game was a bit too tedious for me. After that it was quite fun, if a bit tedious. That lack of copy & paste really was annoying
One recommendation for the start, instead of hand mining stone and coal, some of the big rocks contain large amounts of stone and coal (like 50 stone and 20 coal or something like that). You can hover over the rocks to figure out which ones will give you coal when mined. Finding and mining them is much more efficient then mining the ore patches themselves by hand. This is only really that helpful until you have a few furnaces/burner drills, but its a good to know factoid.
It makes me happy that your smelter setup is actually decent. Sure, there are better designs that don't require long hand inserters, but yours is okay. Quick tip: for one yellow belt of ore you need 48 furnaces. Same with red belts and steel or electric furnaces.
Nice editing! The timelapse of your factory expaning is so satisfying even to me with over 1000 hours in the game! I'll be waiting for more videos from you
Sounds like you've already got a lot of stuff figured out! I have two pieces of advice for you. First, if you haven't figured it out yet, all the info you need for ratios is shown on the tooltips. Especially with the new updates, it'll show you the true input and output rates of all items. Second: Press alt :)
glad to see a skilled factory sim player in factorio! some tips: power progression is steam/boilers (1 boiler to 2 steam), solar/accumulator, nuclear, fission. I know nothing about fission (aquila, havent played there much), spamming solar is good for UPS, bad for aesthetic, but you can power entire megabases off of massive solar panel and accumulator fields. rush blue science and black science so you can get the tank and explosive rounds, they help deal w biters, and you also get all your power armor stuff starting at chemical (blue) science.
When a person believes "Oh crafting games are all like!", then struggles in stupid ways because they ignored the tutorial.. Struggles with biters, because they ignored the settings.. Efficiency at Scale IS a thing.. 🤦♂️
to a factorio player w 10k hours prolly obv yea, but his audience is ummmm satisfactory players, and I dont think it matters. Im just glad someone is uploading for factorio, this game is a content goldmine and noones doin it. I gotta figure out how to do those "world records", where you can timelapse builds

1:53 Impressive that you figured that out. Usually new players don't get it in their first run
Because he didn't go into it blind.
You say it like it's a bad thing
@@SarumDustCloud I... don't?
@@Djellowman Oh.
Definitely wanna see more
Always nice seeing someone starting a factorio world for the first time, especially now that the expansion is out. Make more videos
That was pretty damn impressive for a blind first play. I know a few people who didn't get that far until several attempts.
satisfactory is debateably more difficult to get goin in. maybe its just me tho.

I love that you speed up the boring footage. Much better solution than editing it out imo

Looking forward to more! Thanks!
Very cool, yeah it is interesting seeing someone come from another automation game to this one. I'd watch more
> knows nothing about the game
> knows to drop coal in burner miners with Z
> no tips on screen.
I don't believe you.
I didn’t even notice the z dropping and it was still so obvious he knew what he was doing.

Don't feel bad about skipping ahead. The interesting stuff is mostly after bots.
Nice! New Factorio player! Btw: you can mine fish from lakes and eat the fish to heal in combat

Robots within few hours might be a slight underestimation... 😅
I'll stick around if you keep making videos.

you´re now officially allowed to play more Factorio 😄
It's extremely obvious that you didn't play this blind at all. Embarrassing

How could you tell? I thought his handling of biters was awful noobish.
