As an Indonesian, I was wondering about which or what specific Nasi Goreng type they were using as a measure? Because since its a common national dish, it varies a lot from one another. To speak/express with a brutal honesty; Its like there's a chance that a Nasi Goreng made by a random guy at home, would maybe be of better taste from the one made by a professional chef in a modern fancy hotel/restaurant.
Lol yeah I can certify that the street food nasi goreng tend to taste much better than the upscale restaurants that claim to have nasi goreng signature dishes
@@acturusgarcia6027 that is sadly one of the untold truth.. And tourist tends to have a taste from a classy resto or hotel rather than street cart.. At least for first experience.
Drinking culture in Indonesia is not a thing but there are many local alcoholic drinks. For beer as an example there is Bintang, Angker and Bali Hai. For local alcoholic drinks we have our own wine and each region has some form of alcohol from coconuts, sugarcane or rice. Example Bali has Arak is made from either with coconuts or rice.
itz amazing to see other country ingredients compared to indonesia's cuisine, ihope it helps our local chef knowledge to be able to open up with tourist from other country
Mas Kiki.. proud of you. Cara menjelaskannya sudah pas sekali dan betul sehingga bisa dipahami oleh orang yang benar2 awam tentang Indonesia. A very good job, Mas Kikii.. sehat selalu di Korea bersama keluarga yaa.
To think that there's someone asking "have you showered yet?" To greet people, as Indonesian actually surprising to me... Beside my family member, no one actually greet me with have you showered yet 😂
I think that greetings is also heavily depends on your appearance. If you look "wild" or unkept/dirty, they will greet you with that. I say instead of greeting it was more like an insinuate.
That question Have you showered/took a bath yet? (Sudah mandi belum?) I live in Surabaya.. and it still being asked by neighbors.. but the question only directed towards children. They asked about it in the morning and evening haha. Same with the Have you eaten yet? (Sudah makan belum?) For adults usually they asked Where are you going? (Mau ke mana?)
Fun fact, Indonesia have very good beer, Bintang beer. Every time Koreans or foreigners come to Indonesia for vacation (especially in Bali), they will always order Bintang beer because it's very famous and very tasty (although i don't drink at all but i heard many stories and many other people's videos)
Bintang Beer Basically Heineken Beer. Build in Dutch Colonialism. following Indonesian independence, the brewery was renamed 'Heineken's Indonesian Brewery Company later Multi Bintang Indonesia.
Saya pernah mencicipi keduanya heineken dan bintang, memang ada miripnya dari segi mild birnya tp bir bintang lebih "manis dan segar" kalo disajikan pas panas2. Bisa dibilang bintang memang formulasikan di daerah tropis
As indonesian I just realized about the ‘have u showered?’ Hahaha, back then, my aunties and uncles usually greets me in that way… mind blowing lmao. And yes peeps nowadays is no longer using that greetings
It's because it's a greetings directed towards children. Children generally doesn't care about bath time so that's why your relatives will greet you like that. It'll be weird if they still greet you that way when you're an adult.

Rendang is definitely freaking delicious ok and I didn't know it was an Indonesian food . I'm used to Japanese food which is sweet and Korean food which has a little kick of spice and sweet at the same time. But Indian curry and Thai food are my favorites, they touch so much nerves in my brain I didn't know existed 😆 They have really wide range of flavors. And Rendang , yes it's not an Indian or a Thai cuisine but it definitely has resemblance to those kinds of flavor. Rendang has this savory and spicy taste you couldn't forget , strong but addictive . They make your taste buds dance.
Rendang and fried rice are included in the list of the world's best foods because of the voting conducted by CNN. Because many Indonesians are voting, these two foods can be in the top position. The Civet can identify which coffee beans are of good quality. Therefore, Civet is fed coffee beans so that farmers can get the best coffee beans.

I really love their comments about "kopi Luwak", so many imaginations in their heads 😂😂😂 Thank you for introducing the Indonesian cuisine ❤. The actors and actresses who have done "The Battle Trips" programmes and went to Indonesia mostly won the trip, because the food is really good and compatible prices, too. Oh, BTW, you cannot cheat in Padang Restaurant, because those staffs know exactly how many items you eat. That is why they serve in small plates, wiyh just one or two items in it, so that the staffs can count exactly how many items you have eaten, just by looking at them at a glance. So....no cheating in a Padang Restaurant....👏👏😅
About Luwak Coffee.. Actually farmers know this because the natural behavior of Luwak that eat the best coffee been in their farm. Years ago they just pick the Luwak coffee bean from the ground. They found that this coffee been still in the best shape and start to process it. turned out that coffee been has more flavor and soft at the same time. Key words : naturally, Luwak only eat the best coffee bean from the tree.
indeed, from what i heard (CMIIW) back during the colonial era, farmers were forced to plant coffee. back then, civets were considered pest because they ate coffee beans but then the farmers realized that civets only ate the best quality coffee beans which was the reason why they harvested the droppings. also, it was because back in those days, the farmers who worked on the coffee plantation could only drink coffee taken from civet droppings (as the one they picked from the tree were sold to Europe by the colonial government)
Did the foreigner ask about famous Flower in Indonesia, Raflesia Arnoldi? The flower still there, in Bengkulu, Sumatera Island. The flower is a part of coservation because its rare.
There's Indonesian beer called Bintang and it's really good. That's not true that we doesn't have drink culture. Maybe mr. Kiki say it because most people know including himself that majority of Indonesia is muslim. But not all of us are. So we actually have that drink culture. It's proof by the traditional liquor which still produce and consume in several region like North Sumatera, Bali,Manado, east side of Indonesia even in Java too. But as I said it just several region and depends on the person itself. Btw, GOOD JOD MR. KIKI 🙌

Actually Indonesians also have drinking culture. There are lots kind of liquor from Indonesia. Some Indonesian liquors are fermented 'nira', fruits, rice or sticky rice. Two well-known Indonesian liquors are 'arak Bali' and 'Tjap Tikus'. But it's true that there's stick rule in Indonesia regarding with drinking culture as the majority of Indonesians are moslem who are for drinking liquors and to prohibit chaos that may occur when 'drunken masters' are getting mad. If you drink liquor with Indonesians so you must keep drinking until all bottles served empty.
In accordance to the question, how luwak coffee method found, actually it was just a coincidence. During Dutch ocupation in Indonesia, the worker of coffee plantation which is native Indonesians were not allowed to take coffee bean from the trees. So if they wanted to enjoy coffee they only allow to take coffee seeds that fallen from trees and some of it was already eaten by Luwak. Because of no choice situation, after digested by Luwak they clean up the dung to get the bean. Afterwards the process is like normal. In fact the quality is at its best, because luwak only eat mature coffee bean and become more soft because its like fermented in Luwak stomach.
From what I read, cmiiw. Luwak coffee was found at the Dutch colonial era, the coffee farm workers are not allowed to taste the coffee, it's just for the Dutch. So the workers found coffee beans from luwak droppings, and made coffee from it.

I don't mind the guy who state their honest opinion that they don't like it after they tried the food. It just mean that it just doesn't suit his pallatte. Furing Dutch colonilazation Native Indonesians were forced to grow coffee but not allowed to drink it. Our ancestors were close to nature watching what these luwaks do. They saw luwak ate the coffee beans and their excretion came out in the form of coffee beans too. So they tried washing the excretion yo get the beans, processed them and turned out the luwak did their magic. The Indonesians knew how to turn hardships into gold. It was a sad condition atvthe time, the land was ours but the Dutch claimed it. Treated us like trash
Eastern region has a drinking culture, although not very well known. At parties, they could serve any alcoholic drink or small meetup. So if you want to get drunk, its best to visit eastern region, or tourist hotspot.

Thank you Kiki for explaining and introducing Indonesian culture 🥰
At least for first experience.
yep nasi goreng abang-abang is the best 😋.
Nasi goreng from street vendors with crowded customers are the best ones to try. Not the ones in fancy restaurants.
street fried rice is better than restaurant fried rice
Well done Kiki for the humble and good explanation about our country
Drinking culture in Indonesia is not a thing but there are many local alcoholic drinks.
For beer as an example there is Bintang, Angker and Bali Hai.
For local alcoholic drinks we have our own wine and each region has some form of alcohol from coconuts, sugarcane or rice. Example Bali has Arak is made from either with coconuts or rice.
Arak and tuak
Ciu is the best 🤪🤪🤪
In Indonesia you either alcoholic or never drink alcohol kind of guy
I guess he tryna say as in Indonesia as in majority scale (since 85% of Indonesians are Muslims), but yea 15% of us definitely had drinking culture.
There is also Moke from NTT
itz amazing to see other country ingredients compared to indonesia's cuisine, ihope it helps our local chef knowledge to be able to open up with tourist from other country
Mas Kiki.. proud of you.
Beside my family member, no one actually greet me with have you showered yet 😂
as he said.. rural and old people. and it really happen
It really happens in some villages in Java. 😅
Now you know
Tapi kaya kalo pdkt atau pacaran kan selalu ditanya udah mandi belom😁
I think that greetings is also heavily depends on your appearance.
If you look "wild" or unkept/dirty, they will greet you with that.
I say instead of greeting it was more like an insinuate.
That question Have you showered/took a bath yet? (Sudah mandi belum?) I live in Surabaya.. and it still being asked by neighbors.. but the question only directed towards children. They asked about it in the morning and evening haha. Same with the Have you eaten yet? (Sudah makan belum?)
For adults usually they asked Where are you going? (Mau ke mana?)
Kiki's reaction so funny lmao. I think they love teasing him.
im indonesian and this is the first time i've heard someone greet others with "have you take a shower" lol
Di tempatku gitu weh, kalo sore biasanya ketemu selalu diawali "udah mandi belom?" gitu wkwkwk
Kan udah bilang dia, udah jarang sama biasanya orang tua dan orang desa yg nanya gitu
Emang bener gitu
Kalo tinggal di kota mah jarang yg nanya
Tapi disini masih sering ada ibu"/budhe" yg nanya gitu 'udah mandi belum? Ndang mandi, keburu sore lho ntar, dingin'
Itu ucapan ku setiap pagi, apa lihat keponakan. Atau ngomong ke temen kos dulu
kan pas masih bocah biasanya gitu
Fun fact, Indonesia have very good beer, Bintang beer. Every time Koreans or foreigners come to Indonesia for vacation (especially in Bali), they will always order Bintang beer because it's very famous and very tasty (although i don't drink at all but i heard many stories and many other people's videos)
Bintang Beer Basically Heineken Beer. Build in Dutch Colonialism.
following Indonesian independence, the brewery was renamed 'Heineken's Indonesian Brewery Company later Multi Bintang Indonesia.
Beer bintang emang enak bgt..
@@timeexplorer247 yup, they taste almost the same, so better buy bintang while in indonesia because they're cheaper than heineken
Hillarious but quite correct 😁 actually you can find "Padang resto" everywhere in Ind, not only in Padang, West Sumatra.
But, the taste.. is not as good as the origin. I can say that because... I'm from padang 😅
Taste so different, even some big franchise one like Sederhana wasn't that good compare to padang only franchises like Lamun Ombak.

I can't relate with the shower thing. I'm Indonesian but never greet people with "have u shower yet? " 😅
Saya org jateng kalo ketemu temen lg nongkrong bareng suka tanya "wis adus durung?" Biasanya lebih ke arah basa basi ke temen si
@@koriharyono5238 eh iya dulu pas kecil kalo sore lg main mesti ditanyain udah mandi belum. Tapi lebih ke disuruh mandi dulu, terus baru main lagi.
I am one of them though LOL, just as a joke. In real life who care if someone had their bath or not unless they have unpleasant body odour, or bad breath...
Yeppp....we always says....apa kabar?
I love the way he explained everything about Indonesia, He looked serious and funny at the same time. His knowledge about Indonesia was really good, that's impressive. I realised that there was some wrong information but it's okay, He had tried his best to introduce Indonesian cultures to other country representatives. Thank you Mr. Kiki for explaining and introducing Indonesian cultures.
They make your taste buds dance.
freaking delicious?? wow really? lol
Keren bgt mas Kiki bisa tampil di acara ini😍
Rendang and fried rice are included in the list of the world's best foods because of the voting conducted by CNN. Because many Indonesians are voting, these two foods can be in the top position. The Civet can identify which coffee beans are of good quality. Therefore, Civet is fed coffee beans so that farmers can get the best coffee beans.

Gonna say, Some in Indonesia’s culture especially in Bali, we have drink culture. Even we have out signature alcohol is Arak and Tuak. Bintang also Indonesian beers name
Indonesia doesn't have a beer drinking culture but they do have their own traditional "liquor" such as TUAK (palm wine) made from palm sap
This is one of the funniest episode I've seen in abnormal summit. LOVE IT! 🤣🤣
I really love their comments about "kopi Luwak", so many imaginations in their heads 😂😂😂
Thank you for introducing the Indonesian cuisine ❤.

I'm not from Padang but Padang food is really delicious 😋😋😋
Thanks for a nice video about mouthwatering Indonesian food 👍
They're so funny, can't help myself to subscribe 😂😂
Did the foreigner ask about famous Flower in Indonesia, Raflesia Arnoldi? The flower still there, in Bengkulu, Sumatera Island. The flower is a part of coservation because its rare.
I am happy watching this channel, thank you...
Actually Padang restaurant owners have a way to know how much you eat with special signs on each plate, so it's not only by trust to the buyers.
KIKI 🙌

Indonesia DO have drinking culture. Tuak, Arak, Sopi, Nira Lontar etc.. they only drink that for special event, or joyfull event...
Indonesia have so many traditional drinks, like Cap Tikus, Tuak, Arak.
Indonesia food the best🥰😍
I'm proud to be Indonesian 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Rendang dan nasi goreng masuk 50 daftar makanan terenak di dunia oleh CNN tahun 2017 itu berdasarkan voting di Facebook.
CNN nulis begini :
"So we threw it open to a vote on a Facebook poll. And now, after more than 35,000 votes, it appears we got it all wrong. The world's most delicious food is not Massaman curry, as we suggested, but a meaty, spicy, gingery dish from west Sumatra."
Tahun 2021 CNN bikin lagi daftar makanan terenak di dunia, tapi kali ini tim CNN yg bikin penilaian, bukan melalui voting.
Begini nulis begini :
"We've scoured the planet for what we think are 50 of the most delicious foods ever created. For now, feast your eyes and control your drooling, as we reveal some of the world's best foods that can help inspire your travel plans"
Di tahun 2021 rendang menduduki peringkat 11. Nasi goreng tidak ada lagi.

Indonesia is the food heaven.
Welcome but please behave since we are quite strict with traditional value. Just don't mess with it lol
Why rendang is first rank ?
If we understand the taste, the technique, the ingredient, the philosophy, we'll understand it
Sorry, but personally I think it's rude to make fun or undermine someone else's local food like "it's probably not that tasty" or "the news must be biased" and so on when you haven't even try it. I don't mind the guy who state their honest opinion that they don't like it after they tried the food. It just mean that it just doesn't suit his pallatte. It's not the indonesian's fault their cuisine get selected as number 1 instead of yours. I get that it's a joke and I probably overreact but I just wanna say that. Thank you for reading my opinion. Peace.
The Koreans are just salty that their food lost to Indonesian food lol
Indonesian is Food,Love,and pray.
Massaman curry not the same Rendang on cnn 1st is Massaman curry and Rendang on 11 place
Eastern region has a drinking culture, although not very well known. At parties, they could serve any alcoholic drink or small meetup. So if you want to get drunk, its best to visit eastern region, or tourist hotspot.
