I especially liked the replica of the Viking 1 Mars lander at the Air and Space Museum, even though the spacecraft is rather small they managed to place it at the entrance to the building so it's almost impossible to miss as you walk in. I'm always amazed that the navigation and propulsion systems of that era were able to negotiate the treacherous landing conditions presented by the Martian atmosphere nearly a half century ago. You both made excellent use of your time in DC and Northern Virginia; you were very lucky to enjoy our 81 degree weather last month, that kind of warmth is very rare for us in February. I lived right next to Arlington National Cemetery for most of my adult life, it was a real treat to visit DC many times each year, I'm happy you finally got to experience that for yourself.
