Loved your suggestions for small tools. When I saw the handled suction cup, a light went off. I had a suction cup that lost it's "top" from a bathroom item. I took an old cabinet knob, put the screw through the plastic suction cup and screwed it into the knob. Easy and free!
I can’t remember which tutorial it was on but you recommended a book ‘You And Your Sewing Machine’. After watching Many of your videos that night I ordered that book, it came in today😁. I’m looking forward to a hot cup of coffee, my recliner, and this book. Thanks so much! Happy Valentines
You are amazing. I just love watching your videos. I ALWAYS learn something new. I could use all three of these notions right away. I've been sewing over 40 years. Never to old to learn, this proves it. Thank you and God Bless
Managed to get all the tools except the suction cup , trouble with being on this breathing machine I have to show hubby your tut then send him looking 💍
Hi Laura.I have been stitching for many years but never knew of these 3 little tools which are of great use.I will get them soon. Lovely demo. Pls.share such ideas and tools with us.Thanks.
The EasyKut scissors are great. I can see that the curved blades allow for close trimming of threads, with less danger of cutting the fabric by mistake. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks Laura for the tips. I love those little snips too. I will be trying out the stiletto one and will be on the hunt for a little suction cup like you used. Great tips.
SQUISHY SCISSORS!! My favorite! I have several pairs too, and they are what I give as gifts to sewing friends because they are about 12.00 US and even if they have a pair, you can always use another pair. I will have to try the suction cup. I have the big Gypsy one, hate it.. it stays in a drawer. Thanks so much for sharing your favs!
Thanks for showing the stiletto... going to order one... (will make my sewing projects a little bit easier when dealing with all my lil' pieces!...thanks!.... (one of my favourite things?...~ is my (vintage) EVERLITE ironing cord holder, attached to my ironing board, as my cord NEVER gets in my way, and makes my pressing of fabric pieces so much easier!!! (would you consider doing a review for this, as I am sure it would be appreciated by so-SO MANY, if they tried it. "Happy Sewing!"....
All important items, since I do glass mosaic work too I use my glass suction holder, I like yours it's even smaller than the 3 inches. The only thing I'd add to your list are cut gloves. I wear one on my hand holding the ruler. One trip to the ER is plenty for me and it keeps me from making anymore of my fingers shorter.
I was wondering too! LOL. I was zooming in trying to to see the brand. I just bought a great ruler from Quilter's Select, it does not slip either, at all. But now I need a suction handle. ha ha.
Where did you get the suction cup? I have a question unrelated....do you know why my rotary cutters keeps coming apart while in use? I have to keep tightening them back up or they will just fall apart. I have two different kinds and they both do the same.
Nice to know!! Thank you! Laura, have you ever showed how to make a yard round tote bag? I'm looking ona how to make one? Thanks so much for thinking about it - Eve
I noticed that there are two kinds of Easy Kut scissors. You showed the one with a rainbow finish. Did you choose it for its colors, or does the titanium finish make the scissors work better?
I luvvvvv the Quilt. I've tried my at a baby blanket, it came out OK. But it's not very prevalent in my head country and I'm not able to source the tools for them cause they're very expensive.
I love your tutorials subscribed ages ago ! My question is where do we get these little gadgets I've been after a stiletto for so long now none of our LQS have them
isabella smith I ordered a stiletto exactly like the one Laura demo's, through Amazon. They often have notions and supplies at lower costs than the LQS.
Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I will definitely check the pliers out! I enjoy your videos and have learned a lot of interesting information from you. Keep up the great work you are doing.
I am going to have to get me some sewing scissors like that! I did not realize how unprofessional it can look to leave a lot of loose threads on the back of a quilt!
Where can i get those handles. They would be perfect , since i have a bad finger, thanks to my dog that pulled me too hard on a walk. Doctors cant seem to find a way to help but it doesn't bend. So those handles would be nice to keep my hand flat.
If this link works it will take you to where you can choose size of suction cup and then later on, add the knob. Cheap! premier.sticker.shop suction cups www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200790859945?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=500075974589&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I went to that site and found the Template Ruler Holder, but there's not any place to enter my order! I'm going to call them tomorrow and find out if that's the only way to order since I can't do it online. Tnx for the info though and all your Great Tips.....
Laura Fifer I found these on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Ruler-Handle-Cottage-Mills-templates/dp/B013XHWJHI/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1505435430&sr=8-4&keywords=Ruler+handle www.amazon.com/Dritz-Quilting-Deluxe-Handle-Suction/dp/B002NHKVMU/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1505435430&sr=8-5&keywords=Ruler+handle

OMG... YOUR HAIR!!! So gorgeous!!!
Also thanks for the great list of helpful tools....but your hair is magical.

I.love the door know with suction cup. That alone will make things alot easier.
I just made myself a pincushion/scrapcatcher like yours, literally three days ago! Found a tutorial right here on RUclips by Man Sewing.
Man! those tools are very needed! thanks for sharing them with us. Can you tell me the name of the no slip ruler?
I was wondering too! LOL. I was zooming in trying to to see the brand. I just bought a great ruler from Quilter's Select, it does not slip either, at all. But now I need a suction handle. ha ha.

Loved your tools but sadly when I went to order the ruler holders they don't ship to Canada! Great video thank you!
I have heard that any Bernina dealer carries them! Call you local shop and see if it is true!
Hi Laura - I'm going for a sewing class at my local Bernina dealer this Sat so I'll ask them! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing
I must say - that pin cushion with the catcher! Did you make it Laura?
It was a gift...I love it.
Thanks, that was great.
thanks
Thank you for the tips. I've never seen the knob suction thing. Where would one look to purchase it?

I was wondering if you knew of a site where I could buy a Victorian style stilleto.
Where do you buy all these tools?
Thank you.
thanks
the snips seem to get dull quickly. Is there snip that stays sharper longer?
I have not had any trouble with mine and I have used them for years. Check what brand they are!
The next time I lose my small snips, I'll look for the ones you use to replace my lost pair.
Where did you get the little suction holder and what is it called? Thanks
