    Hey, I'm currently studying for the fe exam. I'm graduated in Civil Engineering from a foreign university and got accredited from the NCEES fortunately. My question is... if I get my EIT from on state board (Connecticut), Do I still being an EIT and other states (like new york for example)?

    • @PasstheFEExam
      @PasstheFEExam  11 месяцев назад +1

      @marcosaps07 Yes, if you get your EIT from the Connecticut state board, you will still be an EIT in New York and other states. The NCEES maintains a database of all EITs in the United States, so once you have received your EIT certificate from one state, you can apply for an EIT certificate in any other state without having to retake the FE exam.
      It is important to note that some states may have additional requirements for EITs, such as requiring them to complete a certain number of hours of engineering experience under the supervision of a licensed engineer. You should check the requirements for the state where you want to practice engineering before you apply for an EIT certificate.
      I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    i've heard some states let you take the PE, before you get the experience required to be a PE. so you can get the ABET degree, take the FE, then the PE, then get the experience after, and then you can get the PE certificate. i think i read that oregon is a state like that.
    but also that different states have different requirements for maintaining your PE, like if you need continuing education or not.

      It is true that some states, such as Oregon, allow you to take the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam before you meet the experience requirement to become a licensed professional engineer. In Oregon, you can take the PE exam after earning an ABET-accredited engineering degree and passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, but you will not receive your license until you meet the experience requirement.
      However, it's important to note that each state sets its own requirements for licensure, and the requirements can vary widely. In addition to experience and education requirements, some states may have additional requirements such as passing additional exams or completing continuing education courses to maintain your license.
      You should check the specific requirements for the state where you plan to work, and make sure you meet all of the eligibility criteria before applying for a PE license. It is also a good idea to keep up-to-date with any changes in licensure requirements or continuing education requirements for maintaining your license, as these can vary from state to state and may change over time.

    I live in California. It's not required to have an engineering degree and you can just take the FE exam and get state certified. I have two colleagues that left IT and became engineers by doing this.
    I want to do the same thing. I was wondering though: Will the PPI courses would teach me enough to pass the exam with no prior engineering experience?

      @PasstheFEExam  2 месяца назад

      @jwigley3835 It's great you're considering a career switch! PPI courses are designed to prepare you for the FE exam, even with no engineering background. While California doesn't require a degree, the exam is tough and covers a wide range of engineering fundamentals.
      PPI provides a structured approach to learning and practicing, which is key to success. Many have passed the FE using PPI, even without a degree. Check out their course offerings here: bit.ly/PPIPROMON and good luck on your journey!

    Hello, I have a degree in pharmaceutical chemistry and have 2 years of engineering experience. Would I be able to get a EIT certificate?

    • @PasstheFEExam
      @PasstheFEExam  27 дней назад

      @williamjesusdomingo5213 It sounds like you could be eligible for an EIT (Engineer in Training) certificate.
      To get an EIT, you generally need:
      1. A degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program: While your degree isn't in engineering, some states may accept related degrees (like pharmaceutical chemistry) if they cover enough fundamental engineering coursework.
      2. Pass the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam: This exam tests your knowledge of basic engineering principles.
      We recommend doing the following:
      - Check your state's licensing board requirements: Each state has different rules. See if your specific degree and experience qualify in your state. You can usually find this info on the state's engineering board website.
      - Prepare for and take the FE exam: There are many resources available to help you study and pass the exam.
      It's awesome that you're interested in this path! Getting your EIT certificate is a great step toward becoming a licensed professional engineer.

    Good to hear you. Can I have the FE exam if I'm graduated in Civil Engineering from a foreign university (Peruvian). I've got the permanent resident since March, 2023

    • @PasstheFEExam
      @PasstheFEExam  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, you can take the FE exam if you graduated in Civil Engineering from a foreign university (Peruvian) and have permanent resident status in the United States. The FE exam is administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), and it is the first step towards becoming a licensed professional engineer (PE) in the US.
      To be eligible to take the FE exam, you must meet the following requirements:
      Have a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
      Be a US citizen, permanent resident, or visa holder who is authorized to work in the US.
      Since your foreign engineering degree is not accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), you will need to have your credentials evaluated by an NCEES-approved credentialing evaluation service. This service will assess your foreign degree and determine whether it is equivalent to an ABET-accredited degree.
      Once you have your foreign credentials evaluated, you can register for the FE exam on the NCEES website. The FE exam is a computer-based exam that is offered year-round at Pearson VUE testing centers.
      Once you have passed the FE exam, you will be eligible to apply for an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate in the state where you live or work. To obtain your PE license, you will need to complete four years of qualifying engineering experience and pass the PE exam.

    What about FE exam for newly graduated Electrical power engineer from Egyptian university?

    • @PasstheFEExam
      @PasstheFEExam  Год назад

      As an electrical power engineer from an Egyptian university, you may be eligible to take the FE exam if you have completed an accredited engineering program that is equivalent to an ABET-accredited program in the United States. However, eligibility requirements can vary by state, so it is important to check with the engineering licensing board in the state where you plan to take the exam to determine your eligibility.
