adam cooley haha, someone who is definitely not here for all my avant gard bullshit. Pinned for the rest of y’all
But why would you not want the bushcraft
Sorry. I had a headache and wasn't feeling it at the moment.
adam cooley hah all good its not for everyone
Went back and watched without the pounding in my head. Much more enjoyable. Plus, you've sold me...on the Work Sharp.
You are one strange young man.
Disappointing yet I still want it. I hope a sale comes soon. Maybe next Black Friday/Cyber Monday. 200 is too much, I'd feel more comfortable paying a little over 100. What made them decide to have the L & S made by Muela. It baffles me.
Absolutely love your video and sense of humor it is what hardcore bushcrafters NEED !!! I figure if it ain’t got a hook and corkscrew for my nosemining operations then it’s just not correctly done ... your intro however was ..... (correctly done,... for those with that 15 word attention span)
So, you get a Muela for thrice the price. Seems reasonable.
fuck's sake this intro, lol so good
*whispers* buushhcrafft
"If you love this brand?" Which brand?Muela? Wtf, the first full tang Victorinox is not made by Victorinox? I first looked it up and thought the price is high, but now, no, no way. If you want a good Spanish knife, go get a Joker knife. Amazing quality and a fantastic prices, especially when compared to this non-Victorinox.
Matching knife and watch,, !!,,,
Batchcraft, more like.
l'est perché celui-là.
RUclips needs a LOL button
The intro is straight fire...then a prefect transition to a smoldering stump top to display its majestic blade profile then onto the typical Bushcrafters flute solo. No one does it better? 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Eventhough I'm a bit of a Victorinox fanboy, the price for this knife (with this steel) is outrageous.
PS: I love how you're poking at internet bushcrafting. I'm totally part of it.😄
Pete, you are the right kind of weird. Your intros get me to watch videos of knives I have no interest in.
5 Problems with the knife and the marketing used to sell it :
1 it's not the first victorinox fixed blade
2 it's not made in Switzerland by victorinox, it's actually made in Spain by Muela. Also the sheat #swissmademyass
3 it is way too overpriced
4 in the market there are tons of way better options to choose from, also saving money
5 the steel could may be ok for a low cost knife or a multi tool, it's too soft for that type of knife, it will dull or damage too fast.
Well said, probably the last knife I would buy, no matter if it says Vicotrinox, it's not a Victorinox. However,Victorinox is and will ever be, the BEST pocket knife and multitool company. PS if it had a different blade shape, 3mm blade thickness and a carbon steel, I would defenetally buy it, no matter if it is made in spain. Problem with Muela and Nieto, is that they use stainless steels on their fixed blades, if they would change that, their knives would be much much more suitable for the job that they are built, thus much more popular.
zoro that’s 100% false advertising
@@hunterglaspell5580 That's 100% true, that's not the first victorinox fixed blade, in fact victorinox make great kitchen knife for years, all swiss made. They could had easily made a good fixed blade, hidden tang or stick tang, with plastic handle in their facility, and that could have been a mora killer and a good competitor for all the knife made in north europe. But instead they gave the production to muela in Spain to sell a mediocre knife at hight price. The fact that is overpriced can be easily see by anyone, check the market price of the other company. The fact that is made in spain by muela can also be checked by everyone, of course victorinox does'nt have any interest in writing that on the blade, but they confermed that when asked. The style and all is tipical of a knife made in Spain. Some famous knife shop even report that information in the description, check this one: www.knivesandtools.com/en/pt/-victorinox-outdoor-master-mic-large-4-2261-outdoor-knife.htm In the end the problem with the soft steel is said in all the video test, Pete said that, the dbk boys said that (their knife took a serious bending on the edge, you can see at the end of their video) I said that, because i've tried other vic with the same steel. That said victorinox is a great brand for multitool, probably they make the best multitool in the world, and they made my favourite plier, wich is the spirit.
Completely agree with what you have said and it has been confirmed by a Victorinox Rep at Shot Show 2020 …
ruclips.net/video/a_oxEWh4IQ8/видео.html starts talking about Muela etc at 1:22 and goes on to confirm they have had fixed blades previously.
@zoro: I don't know, what's your problem - if Victorinox puts its name on these blades they seem to meet the Victorinox standards. Most Kerhaws are nowadays made in China, good knives though. Most of the time you get what you pay for.
Yeah...I think the knife is a tad bit overpriced...especially since there's no corkscrew...it's a good looking knife though...by your face and mannerisms, I think you were being as kind as you could when you could have been shitting on it
Thanks a lot for your interesting feedback!
Stainless and Kydex. The counsel of bushcraft would never sign off on that. The cargo pants are approved
The first minute of this video could be a legit ad of Bushcraft Cologne for Men.
Real Steel Bushcraft II(2) is made in D2 at 58-60HRC with scandi-grind and it comes with a multi-position kydex sheath for like a quarter the price. I'm not trying to knock Victoorinox or your video at all. I'm just letting your fans (which I am one) that you don't need to drain your bank account to get a very high quality knife. I look forward to your next video (yes, I clicked the bell.)
whatbuttondoipush I also have a great review up of the bushcraft 2 :)
What very high quality knive is that would not drain your bank account?
Too bad it's made in the People's Republic of China. Is that where you live?
@@lostcat9lives322 Thanks for replying to my year old comment. I in fact live in the United States of America. Are you on a phone right now? Guess where that was made!?!?! If you want a really good American product, get a Benchmade 200 Puukko in CPM-3V. An amazing blade that is made in Clackamas, Oregon with American super steel. I got one about year ago for $120.
Great video, good review, thank you very much for sharing your knowledge, God Bless
The majority of your reviews are, IMO, EXCELLENT. This particular review, however, was BETTER! Top Marks, 007.
Why better than your „usual excellence“? IMO, these are a few salient reasons:
1) You presented the knife‘s significant design characteristics very well: i. Scandinavian grind of ~ 18°; ii. Tiny but significant microbevel, and you demonstrated the microbevel’s significance; iii. Full Tang; iv. Exposed Tang.
2) You presented the blade’s metallurgical characteristics of greatest importance to real human Bushcraft aficionados (as opposed to androids running AI code in their artificial neurons): i. Type of blade steel; ii. Rockwell Hardness of the blade‘s steel; iii. Practical significance of softer steels used by human „Bushcrafters“, i.e. needs to carry or find the means with which to sharpen a blade and/or straighten a „rolled-over“ Scandi edge; iv. Relative insignificance of this knife’s softer steel for reasonably intelligent human „Bushcrafters“ (humans first resort to stropping their blades to restore a sharp, usable/practical/non-surgical edge, whereas androids attempt to sharpen their blades on cell phones, computer terminals, garden hoses, and Dingos).
3) Because human „Bushcrafters“ consider making a proper campfire to be the 1st or 2nd most important use of a „Bushcraft Knife“, you tested: i. the ease with which this knife‘s spine can be used to generate sparks of sufficient intensity (heat) to light tinder using a Ferrocerium rod; ii. You examined how easily this knife‘s spine gets deformed after a few scrapes of the supplied Ferrocerium rod. (An Android would just light it‘s fingertip Zippo lighter, and is thus capable of lighting a campfire more easily than a human „Bushcrafter“.)
I appreciate your review because I actually considered purchasing this knife and, after studying your review and thinking about the presented information, I concluded that this beautiful knife would not serve my needs as a human „Bushcrafter“.
Thank you for allowing me to share my observations and perspectives on your RUclips channel.
Salome (Live in Peace) und, Mögest du weiterhin im Frieden und SEIN der Schöpfung leben. Auf Wiedersehen!
Intro was needed,
My secret desire is to have a axe guy glitch in everyone
hey Victorinox.....do you even BUSHCRAFFFFFTTTTTT.....brah! ......nice soft steel....blah 🤮
1. At first glance I would've sworn that knife is made by Real Steel in China. Very similar to the pattern of the RS Bushcrafter I picked up some time ago. 2. That rock formation at the beginning...Externsteine in the Teutoburg Forest, Germany. Supposedly a sacred site of pagan Saxons way back when. Was there last December, as it happens. Did not perform any pagan rituals....or b u s h c r a f t...it was raining...
I think it is made by Muela of Spain though I do not know if there is any relation between the two companies.
I like the shape of the blade, the handles appear to be quite nice, and the sheath is great. But...the blade is too thick and it's 4116 @ 56 RC. At that price point I would expect a somewhat better grade of stainless, or better yet, tool steel with a cerakote job.
Nice intro, although I noticed a distinct lack of Bear Gryll's seemingly favorite activity...thank God.
Stupidly overpriced. They should have used N690Co!
BRKT aurora in A2 for $185 ten times better knife. N690 is good but not ideal for bushcraft blade
Mikkie B. of DBK said Victorinox should 'up' the steel or 'lower' the price. They should also mfg INHOUSE.
Thumbs up for the intro by itself.
As for me, I think I'd rather buy a whole bunch of Mora's and throw them away after they're dull vs. buying this Victorinox. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty thing, but $200 USD - dang that's expensive.
That intro slapped so hard it created a primitive friction fire in my pants. Needless to say, i'm hot and ready for the review
Papyrus font seen in its natural element.
hmm yeah, seems like an unfortunate miss given so much is right about the package. i've used 1.4116/X50CrMoV15/5Cr15MoV a good deal and it's weaksauce; about the best thing you can get while only opening the change-pocket of your wallet. on a 200-quid knife? naaah. 154CM on the blade, 59HRC, lose the blade jimping, knurl the micarta, then it's a deal.
Had my eye on that knife thankyou for the review already have the garberg saved me buyers remorse
I would probably take the garberg at half the price
Glad I saw that. It's a very pretty knife but no matter how good looking it is that steel for that price it's a nope.
Dang! Your legs are so BRIGHT, I had to were a welding mask to watch this.
Thanks for the video my Bladed Brother!!!

Guess I should’ve watched this video before I spent $250 for this knife 😂😂 oh well it’s still a nice blade. Any blades you guys would recommend that are much better?
Ooooverpriced, better Brother, Sanremmu kubey, in D2 china, 14c28n, kizer 1095, range 30 - 60 euro-dollar. No tank's .... Forever intersting....
Great review ! A lot of money for a production knife. Recently followed your recommendation and gotta a gorgeous custom from Alex Dron for less money.
That bushcraft music bit had me cracking up 😂
I absolutely love victorinox and its SAKs but I’ll steer clear of this fixed blade
Just spit it out..lol...there is plenty better steels for price sheath can get....The benchmade 202 lueka 3v excellent its the pukkos big brother for 140...and benchmade has got there 3v heat treat finally fixed...luon steel T5 is a monster also just 2 quick thinkers off top of head that will dust this for the price and come with good sheaths even the pukko you showed.... so many Esse, Bk/kbar...Nice knife just to much for low end steel...not to say it can't work..just for price so many better options in steels.....Snd some might just love because its victorinox and thats perfectly cool...i would like to have for the collection just couldn't justify price....
If it was made from the same folks who make swiss army knives, I'd buy 2, in a flash, for that price or greater, however victorinox is swiss made, not Spain made, and therefore they shouldn't be paying muela to make a knife, they should make it themselves
Fun, worthwhile review. Have to see if you've reviewed the new one, the Venture. Thinner blade, different grind.
Really like the looks of this knife. Would really be interested at the $100 mark. No way at $200. Like you said for that money I will get another LT Wright. Thanks for the review. Been really curious about this one.
Heard the vic is overpriced. sloppy sheath. blade roll. chips. pass. Also your intro is hysterical!😂
Way overpriced.
Too soft of steel.
Mediocre sheath.
Poor edge retention.
Poor fire starting ability.
Bushcraft....sounds like a job description for Ron Jeremy.
Buuushcraft
Definitely an entertaining start of the video.
This knife looks a great deal like the Cudeman bushcraft knife.
Once again vitorinox sells its name on the package, not a quality heirloom product.
Hilarious, and well done depicting of what I feel is “Bushcraft” to the T.
Bushcraft seems to be this made up word for describing when a person goes into their backyard and plays with a Knife, whilst filming themselves for the enjoyment of others.
That word was not around when I was romping around in the woods camping in far out obscure places. As far as I could walk out in a day. Sometimes two or three days out. No cell reception and you didn’t bring more than a liter of water simply to lighten the load. One can easily boil water, so it made little sense to overload yourself. Ultralight simply meant you had enough knowledge and time spent in the backcountry that you had no use for much other than a knife and canteen with canteen cup for boiling said water. And those were considered a luxury item.
I do realize that there’s only a fraction of wild land left these days for the youth to go out and discover themselves. We must keep that in mind Ofcourse. One must go farther and farther to truly be in the wild. Even still the extent at which you must go to escape people is even farther yet. Due to the small amounts of designated refuges.
This may be less of an issue in your country. I wouldn’t know, having never been there. Looks beautiful though.
Keep on keeping on meow!
You are the best, leave your wife, marry me, then we can sit and carve little bushcraft babies all day! :-D
You did fuckingg review every single knife I ever thought about didnt ya?
Gotta get your ferro rod and your paracord out of the trash for this one
Great review. That price really raised my eyebrows.
mmm. Yeah, nah. In my pretty small collection I have (off the top of my head) 3 or 4 full scandi grind knives and a number of fixed blade bushcraft/survival knives around this size and none of them cost close to $200. Well, one was $170, the cheapest, $15. I really like the sheath though. The knife is (in my opinion) just another run-of-the-mill bushcraft knife. Personally, if a company calls a knife a 'Bushcraft' knife nowadays, then they should halve their recommended price.
Victorinox it is not , only in name . It’s made in Spain by muela.
I *finally* remembered the psychadelics and you have a normal bushcraft video intro?!?!
Just noticed the Birdshot shirt. 🤣
Great video! Hilarious. . . . . Good point about maintaining the spine of the knife. I feel like that is probably overlooked alot.
The handle’s too short. See: REIF knives.
I don't think a "true" scandi grind has to be a zero grind, a tiny microbevel is scandi-acceptable and even desirable. But it should be almost invisible to the naked eye, hence the micro. The problem is that companies put on these pronounced secondary bevels that kind of ruin the whole point of a scandi grind which is high performance at wood carving.
Grey Holm agree
you are so funny mate LOL bushcraft OMG I am crying of joy
Huge SAK fan! But this is a rip off! there are a lot of cheaper knives doing the same job just as good! Thanks for the review tho!
Hi. Thought you were making a Didgeridoo lol
Looks like a Joker but twice the price. I think I will pass.
I see you have the Victorinox watch, is that the auto or quartz model?
Good video!
I like the part where he says "Bushcraft".
The new Condors can do all that for a quarter of the price. What a rip off.
this just showed up on my feed after a year... HMMMMM

This is quite possibly the worst start of a video ever…….
If I want 4116, I'll just buy a Cold Steel...
👍👍👍 great explained
Extremely overpriced!
Fake bushcraft. Man has no moustache.
After my research, I deduced the following: this knife is shaped and designed to be a survival and bushcraft knife. However with 4.116 steel at its current RH, it can't hold up to the tasks that it was brainstormed for
Cosmo Canyon, is that you?
I left my PS1 running for days just to listen to that song.
The knife looks very well made, but I agree with you on the price point, I just dont see the $200. Thanks for the video Pete! Much love
Good one! Bush-hippies beware!
1:37 where did you find this meme?
It’s “Bushcraft, the Musical”! Top marks for this onePete.👍🇦🇺😂
Pete
You are a fkin gem
😂
Two words: overpriced crap.
I had to like this just for the intro
I can totally do without the crotch shots. Just sayin for a friend.
but bushcraft tho
LOVED the Intro 👍👍
is that rust on the blade?

Very happy you decide you review this. Thanks
