How did you put the marks on the cup? To make sure they were straight? Everything else makes sense I just wish we could have seen start to finish how you did everything. I'm fairly new to this as well.
I didn’t put marks on the cup, I just eyeballed it until I felt it was straight.

Ive seen on other videos they use a small silverware tray to lay the cup in to hold it straight and sturdy so you can place images/lettering
New to all this.... but I thought you should not touch the vinyl sticky side. And you touch it with your finger when your cutting the backing. Wont that affect the vinyl sticking really good?
My hands were clean so it really doesn’t cause an issue. If your hands are dirty or oily, or you handle it a lot, there’s a chance it could interfere, but in 8 years I’ve not had an issue.

You said you sanded it and applied Apoxsee? What kind of effect does that give it?
If your epoxy isn’t smooth and even before your apply your decal, any imperfections will be amplified once you decal and add another layer of epoxy.

Any should work. Powder coated ones can be difficult to work with, but brand doesn’t matter

I’m not sure if I used it here, but I generally use Oracal 651 and Siser EasyPSV
