I'd love to have discovered triathlon in my teens and early twenties (now 51!). I started training/competing in triathlon 12 yrs ago and it has made a real difference to my fitness and his re-ignited my love of exercising outdoors. It seems for Ruth (and probably most pros..) that leaving full-time work is the single biggest improvement you can make, possibly for any & every sport but particularly triathlon. Good luck, I'll be following your progress!
As with most cases of people become a success in another career it typically stems from having been successful in another sphere which gives you the financial buffer to not have to worry about where the money is coming from. Had she been someone who just worked down the local pub or had a low level office job she wouldn’t have so easily got to the point of being able to turn pro.
Great video! Ruth definitely looks like I a wonderful person with just the right attitude. And I definitely recognise her love-hate feelings towards swimming. Best of luck for her!
sorry to be off topic but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the account password. I love any assistance you can give me.
@Moises Mohamed thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

Every time I see scenes from Yorkshire (and UK's countryside), I always feel the urge to move back to the UK. I even forget how much it rains!
Great video...looking forward to seeing more of these and the journey!
Great content, love this channel!
Definitely in love with Ruth ! Hope she does well against veterans in future races.
printhisvideo thanks!
She’s amazing - mind of a champion. I know she can stay in champ mode while being more kind to herself, hope she will 🙏
Is it viable for @GTN to hire her as a part timer as i would think she will provide a new angle as a new pro vs former pro.
Great video😀
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Absolute pocket rocket!! 👍👏
Great insight, she's got a great attitude, good luck Ruth
JonRidesBikes thank you!
Deja vu, did you guys re-upload this video?

Now in my sixties I don't think I will be a pro
Me too I feel relaxed after swimming but feel pressured but why do u still go to the pool during the pandemic?
Hi there - Just to clarify - this was filmed earlier this year. No one is currently swimming in pools in the UK, unfortunately.

Hi, this was filmed much earlier this year, way before the current climate 🙂
You know. Those "old" athletes. In their 40's. 😞
Old for a pro, that’s what she meant didn’t she ?
