First story: not to mention the actual danger he put the wife in by telling her he was coming to take her to the hospital when he wasn't. What if she'd kept waiting and suffered complications?
Exactly! I have a friend who had to assist with a road-side childbirth. He had been trained, and part of that training was "Massage the vulva until the ambulance arrives." Because women BLEEEEEEEEEED after childbirth, and the massage helps to slow it down. The doctor told him, later, that he saved her life. She would have bled out, had he not done it, or stopped before the ambulance arrived, and she was able to get proper care. It's not always an issue, but it was for her. Or, it could have been like when my niece was born. She got STUCK halfway out, and they had to push her back inside and to an emergency surgery. Or the cord could have been wrapped around the baby's neck. HE wouldn't know. SHE wouldn't know, let alone know how to fix it. That's what TRAINED MEDICAL PERSONNEL ARE FOR. Homebirths are OK with a midwife, but not ALONE. You need SOMEONE there. Even if she only had someone untrained there to catch the baby... I just... SHE COULD HAVE DIED! The BABY could have DIED! All because of a football game and "rituals" that go with it. And then "YOU MADE ME LOOK BAD." No. He IS bad. Full stop!
SERIOUSLY. I'm just blown away, that's insanity. Plus him calling and asking if she's still in labor... like what?? Did he expect her labor to stop? Her to say "oh, the game is still on? Alright let me just pause labor" like WHAT. There could've been so many things that went wrong. Thank god her sister was there to get her to the hospital. His behavior is just beyond disgusting.
@@AuntLoopy123 this is exactly what I was thinking, he could have killed his wife and child, he DESERVES to be told what a negligent selfish ashhole he is
@@bostonrailfan2427 she could have trust him to come as he kept saying he was on his way... I know that if i was in that situation i would trust in my significant other and i wouldn't necessarily call 911/999 because I'd think that he'll be here soon to drive me to the hospital
I was waiting for you to talk about the husband describing how he drove his wife to the hospital, how nervous he was, pacing the floor and how he hadn't eaten for hours. Not only did he lie, he embellished AND made it about HIM! What a freakin' narcissist! And good on his mother, too!
Feels more like a shameless coward pulling a cya, than a narcissist to me. Basically, he knows exactly what his mom would do (and did do) if she knew the truth, so tried to hide it.
Don't forget that he gaslighted his wife afterwards for "making him look like a bad husband and father and causing a rift in his family". (facepalm) I see divorce in that couple's future, sadly.
@@BCFBreakfastClubFan I mean, if he hadn't *been* a bad husband and father in that moment, there would have been no problem. Also, his game time "rituals" that he can't do at his house with his wife present are super sus. I'm willing to bet he's got other narcissistic, controlling tendencies as well, and if so OP needs to *run* to a divorce attorney. If the dude was just an idiot, like "she'll be in labor six hours easy, I can finish watching the game" then that's bad enough, but might be dealt with through counseling. But if he genuinely cared more about the "game" (yeah, super duper sus) than being there for the birth of his son, then that's absolutely irredeemable.
Gotta love Rslash chugging that “loving his wife and child” juice. Literally the best way to regain faith in humanity after hearing about the horrible way people treat their loved ones

Second story : Imagine a dad being mad that his daughter doesn't get to be completely embarrassed in school with her first period... You did right by your sister, gender has nothing to do with anything here. You did what a good human being would do, without being held back by ridiculous backward mentality of "ew period disgusting, let other women take care of that".
I know right! That story made me so mad! My dad actually used to get angry whenever i had my period "around him". He would throw away all my pads, even if i hid them in my underwear drawer he would find them and throw them in the trash and then he would yell at me for being so "disgusting". I was forced to either bleed through my clothes or use toiletpaper at his place and in school for years. Needless to say. I cut him out of my life at 16 and moved to my moms place.
@@TexiTheTycoon I'm sorry that you were shamed for your body's biological need to rid itself if it's uterine lining. It's good that you got rid of your father and moved in with your mom. I remember my first period. It happened when I was swimming at a neighbor's house. I was prepared for it, thanks to sixth grade health class where we watched a video with the school nurse and teacher, and we could ask questions if we had them. It was scary at the same time. My mom calmed me down, and told me to get one of her pads. I did. My dad was much cooler than yours. He has no issues with this stuff. He understands that's it's natural.
i was lucky with my first i started mine when i got home from school at first periods were not that bad for but when i got in high school they got really bad i was having them every 3 days and they were leaking through my clothes even one time when i was sleeping i woke up the back of my pajamas were stained red and some how it got in my hair i thought i was gonna have to go to the hospital from blood loss or something
Oh, the first story had me in a rage! If my husband prioritised a bloody football game over me being in labour there is NO WAY I would have allowed him in the room with me. No way! He sure as heck would be staying with his buddies as well while I was home with my infant talking to my attorney. My husband was hilarious throughout my labour and delivery, ended up having a c-section. He was holding m my hand with his head over the drape giving me play by play detail of what was going on! 😂 I finally told him him to shut it, I wasn’t interested where my body parts were thank you very much! 25 years on now and he still tells his buddies how cool it was! Especially holding her first and being in awe of both her and I!
i remember a similar story , covered by r/slash as well where OP had surgery , her husband abandoned her to watch football and his friends blasted him for it and he went on and on how is op's fault that she ruined the thing
Nothing infuriates me more than people who don’t take responsibility for their actions. My stepdad did this bullshit too. He went on vacation for a weekend without telling me my mom and lied to her, saying he was in another state working. When she found out, she had him take an std test because she didn’t trust him. He said she “made him experience so much shame” and was angry at her and didn’t talk to her for a week or so. Like wtf is wrong with these people? YOU DID IT TO YOURSELF
About the period story- girls remember their first period their entire lives, that little girl is going to have a great memory of her brother buying her the stuff she needs and some snacks, and getting the rest of the day off to relax. She’s going to cherish how kind he was that day for the rest of her life. I’m glad that was her first period story and not how the dad wanted it to go. OP is the sweetest brother to his sister.
Yes the dad was an a hole but is it necessary to pick only the stories that push feminist nonsense. He didn’t seem to pick any stories that have to do with mens puberty or anything that makes a woman not live up to her duties as a wife
I absolutely agree, I got mine like 4 years ago i think... anyway i have a HORRIBLE memory and barely remember anything from that day but everything from just before going to the bathroom all the way up to the drive home is CRYSTAL CLEAR (this happens over a span of like 10 minutes lol)
For the “man child” story i want to point something out. GIRLS CANT HOLD THE BLOOD IN! Its not like going to pee. It cant be held back no matter how hard you try. Even if his sister got new pants and stuff, (depending on how bad it is) the new ones could be soaking red in an hour! Op really saved his sister, and i hope his dad can somehow get some sense knocked into him.
Good lord if we could hold it life would be so much easier. I've heard men have random boners, and that has to suck, but I do know the aches and nausea, and the uncomfortable heavy gush from some of the slightest movements. That's...to my knowledge a decent comparison actually...maybe it might not happen as often, but it might help get certain switches to flip and lightbulbs to turn on.
I'll give my limited insight here as a man. I'd take "nursing a semi" 24/7 than even a fraction of what women go through. The morning wood and the random rises during the day as a teenager is a cakewalk to deal with. Even the random "cream incidents" before getting the hang of our plumbing I'd easily deal with compared with what the female anatomy goes through. The more insight I get, the more in awe I am of those women who gets it worst. I just think about that poor late teens/early twenties Swedish show host that projectile vomited on live TV because of bad menstrual cramps, and I easily understand that I've got the easy side of life.
also, first time period blood is not the same as regular period blood. as the body gets used to the menstrual cycle blood gets more homogeneous and idk behaves like a period but the first few ones are full of chunks, big blood clots, brown thick blood, and it's just so much. i couldn't imagine being like that at school with nothig to help me
Well some people actually can, look up for free flow instinct. I'm not saying anyone CAN, I just know that I could with some training (i wouldn't spill anything on pads and everything in the toilets when I would go peeing). I used to do it unconsciously since I've had my periods, especially during the night (i never bleed when I sleep and everything goes when I need to pee in the morning). When you're holding it in, at some point you'll feel like an urgent need to pee, and then it's mostly blood coming out. Maybe tmi, but some people really can do it, but I don't know if you can have a big flow doing it. It's not very confortable though as you have to pay attention to your body way more than usual.
2nd story: A real man looks after the ones he cares about. Regardless of what it is. Period, support, etc. OP was the right in every single step.I can see why OP’s parents divorced
That guy is just absolutely insane. I can't even imagine leaving my daughter at school for three hours like that. My daughter is 9 and has been showing signs that her first period could happen at any time, but we prepared her for it. My wife explained everything to her and got her some products for when it happens. I just hope for her sake it doesn't happen at school, but if it does I'd pick her up in a heartbeat.
That and the fact that he only seems to like people half his age, wouldn't be surprised if she was his mistress before the divorce. Op was born when his now fiance was just starting elementary school which is super creepy to think about
Exactly, what happened to don’t shoot the messenger? If someone tells others the actions you committed and the others treat you badly for it, it’s your fault.
Why doesn’t RSlash pick stories where the woman acts like a bad wife? Seems like he’s trying to push a feminist agenda and doesn’t read the stories where the wife is a cheater and disrespects the man
I was on stage in front of a few thousand people about 45 minutes away when my wife's water broke (pre pandemic) almost 2 months early. Our stage hand walked up and yelled into my ear to tell me she was in labor. I immediately stopped playing cutting the song short and yelled "IM HAVING A BABY!" into the microphone, the entire room erupted as I told them "I had to leave and that this is Jerry. Jerry will be playing guitar for the rest of our set. Thanks and I love you all" ive never heard cheers like that in my direction before or after.
When slash talked about the birth of his daughter, I cried. That disgusting "father" who watched football instead of being there for his wife and child is a 10 out of 5 buttholes.
Hearing Rslash slowly break pff of his usual strong, calm voice got me to the core. When his voice ever so slightly trembled when he talked about his daughter i started tearing up omg. Youre an amazing person, husband, and dad Rslash !!
Man child story: Gee, I wonder why OP's parents got divorced /s. And OP sounds like a keeper. Amazing brother and boyfriend by the sounds of it. Girlfriend doesn't know what a gem of a partner she has
ABSOLUTELY. My younger cousin is 15 but started her period when she was only 8. However, just because she’s been having her period for 7 years doesn’t mean it gets any easier on her and her “father” and older brothers are clueless assholes who are still impatient with her. If our grandma isn’t available, then sometimes her older sister can help her to get her fem-hy products. I was on a call with her a couple weeks ago and she told me that she started and she was needing her brother or dad to go to the store for her to get more pads. (She likes to call regularly because even though we’re 8 years apart in age, she sees me as her sister. Her brothers are 8 and 13 years OLDER than her. Both old enough to be mature enough to buy her some fucking pads without being jerks. I could see how much pain she was in from cramps and how miserable she felt. (That feeling of pain and panic when you’re on your last pad and you’re not sure how heavy your flow will be because it’s only the first day is unreal) Her dad and brother still don’t know what brand or size or flow of product she uses and it’s been 7 damn years. I was helping her google the pads she was describing so she could send a picture to her dad to know what to get and she was struggling and I could hear him and her eldest brother getting impatient in the background. Her brother yelled “just go to the store with him!!” And she said “I don’t want to, I don’t feel good” and be yelled back “WELL SHUT THE FUCK UP THEN!!” I was appalled. Unfortunately this type of verbal abuse is normalized in that household. My cousins honestly could benefit from years of therapy. I just pray she doesn’t end up stuck in that damn house and can move away from home. If I was single, living alone, and lived close to home, I would definitely let her live with me.
It saddens me how the dad reacted to his son helping his sister with her period. My dad and both of my brothers have bought me feminine products or brought me Tylenol, sprite, or anything else I needed when I asked them, and they never once said it was a woman's job or inappropriate. Hopefully things will get better for the sister.
My sister told me of a stand-up comedian she once saw. Instead of being ashamed to buy feminine products for his wife, he grabs a bunch of them, and then, at the check-out lane, holds them up proudly, while shouting, 'I HAVE A WOMAN!" Yeah, that's my kind of man!
Whats even crazy is that what the dad was trying to force the sister to go through is actually really unhealthy. Women should not just let their period stain their clothing and not change out of it. It is still blood, and can still cause infections. If the sister was left to bleed out on her clothes for hours, especially while wearing clothes the school gave her, which, lets be real, we dont know where those clothes came from, she couldve gotten some kind of infection from it. Her brother made the right call. She needed pads/tampons for her own health.
My dad was always very supportive and helpful and it set the bar high for the dudes in my life. That girl is going to have good memories and trust in her brother and know she is worth good treatment I. Spite of her dad. A+ brother behavior.
11:31 most people with periods will tell you: they are one of the least sexy things you will ever experience. If the girl had shat herself, would the dad have had them same reaction? No! Because that's ridiculous! Doesn't matter which hole you've messed yourself with, it has to be taken care of. Not to mention that any bodily fluid is a biohazard, you can't let it go everywhere. The dad IS a manchild, and he needs to grow up
IKR?! It's 2021; we have all the info in the world at our fingertips. Yet, somehow, some guys still think periods have to do with sex, or are akin to peeing? There's nothing unmanly about helping a woman with this issue, especially if it's his sister!
@@goku-sangreen4510 i genuinely don't understand your logic at all. The dad would not have been willing to let the girl lie in her own feces for most of the school day, nor would he have sexualized it

On the second story: Coming from a girl who's father didn't know how/didn't want to deal with me and my periods, I can promise that girl will remember that and it will damage her relationship with her father. Props to the brother for being a great brother and actually helping her out.
@@TKUA11 based on your comment history; you don’t even like this guy. So why the hell do you keep giving him views that get him money? You’re just sad.
With the second story, it almost feels like projection. Accusing his son of doing something inappropriate with his younger sister, when he was actually acting more like a responsible parent. The ironic thing is OP's dad is engaged to a woman twenty years younger than him and only six years older than her future stepson. If anyone has done something inappropriate, it's him. I mean it is not illegal, but marrying someone twenty years younger than you is kinda creepy.

He definitely goes off a lot more when pregnancy and birth are involved, lol. I remember a few episodes ago him saying something about hating how people always go straight to the divorce card and only giving 5/5 for the worst of the worst... it's all subjective from our perspective anyway because we're only having one half a story that we can't even verify, it's just something I noticed.

Almost three years aog my daughter was born a week before the Superbowl. I'm a Rams fan. My dad was seriously considering weeks before the game to fly out and see the Superbowl with my brother and myself. Even when he mentioned it. I was like Pop. My wife is due to give birth around that time. Sure we can go, but if my wife gives birth while we are at the Superbowl. How much trouble do think we would all be in? Me missing my only child's birth. And him missing his first Grandchild's birth. I said I don't want a divorce. So we watched the game at my mom dad's place while mom held her new baby grandaughter for most the game. Too bad my team lost. But my mom was the happiest woman in the world that day.
@@Jamie-nv3wp Thanks. I try. I also have two step daughters. I still call them both my daughters when talking about them in general or introducing them.
That second story pissed me off so much. Many young girls experience their first period during school and usually get shamed for it by other students. My sister’s and I both hit puberty very early. When my younger sister first had her period in primary school her damn teacher had the audacity to tell her off because her pants were “bleeding” at the crotch and the “boys” were looking. She even made her walk to the office by herself where the ‘sick bay’ didn’t even have any pads or change of pants for her. My sister asked if she was able to call my mum to go home but the office ladies said no. They made her tie her hoodie around her waist to cover the stain and she was forced to use her favourite undershirt as a pad. They even sent her back to class where her teacher acted indifferently towards her. This breaks my heart and enrages me how grown ‘female’ teachers who were educated and experienced decided to overlook my sister’s confusion and embarrassment with her early stages of womanhood. Irregardless of her being younger than the average age, hitting puberty much earlier than others is possible. It makes me more sad that now my sister is very conscious when she has her period now and she obsesses over if the blood came through. ***I’m so glad that the brother in the story still stepped in irregardless of the father’s sexism towards her first period. So many young girls would benefit from having a sibling, parent, friend, even a teacher who would help them through their first period. It’s a natural occurrence that happens in a females life. I don’t understand why some people are Asshats about it.
Story 1: This is why I’m glad my future husband is a gamer and doesn’t really care about sports. He loves his video games but if I was in labor he’d drop everything and drive me to the hospital Story 2: if my son went and got his sister from school and got her feminine products when she unexpectedly went through her period, I would be so proud and even reimburse him for what he spent. Good big brother
Worst case scenario, he can switch to a handheld and bring the game to the hospital. I don't game but I used to work electronics at Target and Switches were big deal for their versatility.
Story 2: man when I was about 14-16 my 2 older brothers and I was going to have a sibling day. I happened to start my period and my mom wasn't home to get me pads. But luckily my brother manned up and went for me. Yes he got the wrong ones but he put his pride aside cause his little sister needed him and he got what I could use until my mom got home. I laughed thanked him and we had a great day at the movies. My mother isn't even one to go out and buy feminine products without making a fuss. I'm thankful for these men that will say fuck a society you need to be taken care of.
@@TKUA11 . A story about a dad being an idiot about an event that happens to, literally, half of the people on the planet is feminist propaganda?? Whatever makes you feel better about yourself dude...
Story 1: Before Rslash even mentioned it, I was listening along and just 'get a divorce, he clearly has priorities, and they aren't his wife. Story 2: I didn't tell my dad (Mum was at work) when I got my first, but that's because I was embarrassed. He's a nurse and would have totally understood, I was just being dumb in that situation. The dad in this was just... you're an adult, grow up. Story 3: If this pandemic has taught me anything, it's that I'm too old to deal with stupid people. Get a divorce, your husbands trash. Chuck out the whole husband, get a new one.
@Nick Gurrr I don’t understand this. How does one compare abandonment, proceeding to lie and embellish the story to paint oneself as something they are not to acquiring a legal divorce. One is a choice. One is a consequence of said choice. Unless you are referring to the unladylike story, that point remains. You cannot simply expect someone to keep their mouth shut after their spouse publicly humiliates them because “two wrongs don’t make a right.” Not to mention the very clear line that separates them. One isn’t “feminine,” (to his benefit) and one is pretentious.
2nd story: "he told me that i'm her brother and shouldn't be involved in her sexual health" Periods have nothing to do with sex, it only means that you could get pregnant if you were to have sex. That man doesn't know how a period works and is probably either embarrassed, grossed out, intimidated or all 3 about what is normal in a body with an uterus and i find him disgusting. I'm thankful that girl has a brother like him because with that father omg
The fact he wanted his daughter to just sit there all day in her own blood is not hygienic and very dangerous to her health, I was so mad listening to that story, thank god for the brother who was a hero
@@prodigy1016 that kind of attitude is why so many girls in other countries drop out of school once they start menstruating. Everyone's taught that it's dirty and men shouldn't be involved. He was ostracized and even his wife left him, because of the cultural stigma of the period and hiding it from men.
@@FearMyLadyBits I loved this story. Then his business took off since pads are clearly something desperately needed by many. He made some money, and his wife who left him wanted him back 😑 she's not there when her husband was struggling. I think he took her back?

I love how passionate RSlash is about being, well, a decent human being in general, but particularly his passion in being a good partner and a good parent. @@ryanclemons1 half of nothing is still nothing 😂 and the kid it depends on the situation. But I don’t gotta worry about it my hubby is a better man than that dude
@@ryanclemons1 actually I think in this story a case could be made that the father would be neglectful due to him 1 choosing to go to his friends house and watch a football game when his wife told him not to go because she was going to go into labor soon and 2 when told his wife’s water broke he lied to her and said he was on his way and didn’t go to his wife for two hours which could of caused the death of his wife or child. So he most likely would only get monitored visitation if that.
Lol the unladylike story is hilarious, he’s criticizing his wife on how she’s not beautiful anymore when she has to take care of 3 children by herself on a daily basis.
Exactly, she should have been like uh when exactly do I have the time to get my hair done? To get my nails done? I have THREE KIDS to keep watch over, if I'm out getting my hair and nails done, who is taking care of the kids? Because it's obviously not you!
In the comments of the post, the wife says that she's brought up the idea of him either paying for childcare or watching the kids himself while she goes out to get her hair done/have me time and he refuses. Apparently he thinks she should have to drag 3 kids to the salon with her in a fucking pandemic. Like fuck that
Rslash: "where RSlash gets angry" Me: "that's a different intro." Near end of video.. Me: "pitchforks buy one get one free! Torches $2.50 while supplies last!" Me: testing out sharpness of pitchfork "ouch, yeah that will do."
rSlash's reaction to Op's husband has to be one of the main reasons i keep up with this channel. rSlash, you are an impeccable father, husband, and person in general. ,e and your entire audience just knows this through how you react to horrible parents and how much you love to talk about your family. Keep being awesome dude!
The fact that the father referred to it as "sexual health" was a massive red flag that he has no idea how periods work whatsoever, and that schools do not, actually, provide new pants and underwear for us.
@@ReverieNightengale and to say that about his own 11 year old child? A child?? You're commenting on the "sexual health" of a baby who has just had her shit rocked by life and he's mad that his son is helping his kid sister? That dude sucks
We've heard Rslash get angry before - but to hear him get so angry that he can't even find words - that's not anger, that's pure incandescent fury. I suspect that would have been the case at any time, but now he has a daughter and can relate his experience of being there at the birth ...
So… by the wife telling your family where you ACTUALLY were while she was in labor makes you look like a neglectful, bad husband? Um. No. You ARE a neglectful, bad husband. Your wife just let your family know. Good for her.
I was trying to think what to say about the first story… and I’m just speechless. This is absolutely horrible human being behavior. His list of priorities is a questionable one: the football game and his reputation towards other people are more important for him than his wife and child… This is ridiculous. What the actual f?
any normal person would've been at least embarrassed that they did something so bad... this guy even bragged about doing what he should've done with not a shred of embarrassment... I mean I don't think this is necessarily a reason for divorce, but holy heck that guy needs some serious re-education.
To his "credit," he did make effort to tend to his son and making amends for not being there for his wife. To OP's credit, he did *try* to lie about what happened while obfuscating his lousy behavior (emphasis on "try" since he's lucky his SIL wasn't there to tear him a new one over it). I may like my games and browsing the net in my downtime, but even I would still set that aside for much more major events. Besides, I can always browse the net and play games later.
@Theia_Loki He might be trying to make amends a little now but how long will that last? Till football season actually starts? Till the Superbowl? Even with modern medicine labor can be very dangerous for both mother and baby, especially outside a hospital and yet this guy was content with lying to his wife saying he was on his way to get her while going back to watching the game for 2 HOURS and then CALLED for a quick update because the game wasnt over yet... that's not a simple mistake, I was born only 24 minutes after my mom went into labor... The amount of things that could have gone wrong had she waited for him instead of calling someone else. She could have had the baby but the babies dying because the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck while she lies dying because the placenta is struck in her (both very common labor complications) and he wouldn't have know until he called and no one answered, chances are he would have shrugged that off and gone back to the game while his wife and kid played dead in a pile of blood and shit. It's top tier negligence and frankly he would probably do something similar or worse in a matter of time.
1st story - If that POS can lie to his parents, he lies to his wife. The part where he refuses to watch the game at home because he and his buddies have "rituals" makes it sound like he's cheating on her.
That's what I was thinking. Most likely he's hooking up with a side chick. Even if he's not there are some serious issues with him & that marriage probably isn't going to last.
I don't think so. Where he is still an a..hole, his wife told that he watches the games with his or her brother. He wouldn't say that if he was cheating.
Not only is that brother (who took care of his sister on her period) not the asshole, he wins 🏆 The Best Brother Award! 🏆 All men need to take notes of how to help us women with a period emergency.
OP in the second story is such an awesome brother!!! Girls remember their first periods their entire lives, and the memory of her wonderful brother caring for her will be forever.
Other thing for the last story - op could have responded with “well if you looked after the kids for a week maybe I could treat myself and get those things done”
To be honest: 50h /week ( about the time I’m out for work) should be enough for the household. So looking for the kids if most likely not an option, wouldn’t be for me. On the weekends it’s a different storey but not during the week.
Exactly, she has zero time to get her hair and nails done and go out and shop when she's watching three kids all day every day without her husband's help. When does he expect her to do this stuff? AND to keep up a sexy attitude at the same time, like uh that's how we got all these kids that I have to watch by myself, maybe I don't want a fourth lol
Her: why can't you watch football here with your friends here.. Him: me and my bros have rituals I can't watch it here. The ritual: Me and the bros clapping each other's cheeks during a football game.
Agreed on the daughter birth thing, I had twin girls this year in April and I vividly remember when the doctor got them out via C-Section, and it was one of the single most emotional moments I've ever had in my life. My wife and I were both balling our eyes out, hearing them cry and seeing the doctor holding one up, then the other. Football, nor any sport or activity, can ever come close to replicating that feeling, not to mention the bond that goes along with going through that with your significant other. Awesome vid, thanks for the amazing content!
Witnessing the birth of a child is a once in a lifetime event. And if you believe in the saying “you only live once,” that would apply too. Earning a scrap of 18-carat gold for playing sports that everyone will eventually move on from . . . Well, I guess everyone has their own priorities laid out.

Story 1: This is one of my favorite stories purely because I _love_ how MIL goes off on him. I never get tired of it. Honestly I feel like after he blew up on OP once they left, she should have called MIL and been like "So guess what your son just did" and invite her over. Story 2: School can give her new pants all they want, she's going to bleed through them until she has a pad or tampon, she needs to go home
First story. Even not as a parent, I was fortunate enough to see my niece being born and can say that seeing and being apart of a birth of someone you love is an amazing experience. I honestly couldn’t imagine being a parent and anything in the world being more important.
This is how my ex used to react when I told people how he treated me. He said I made him feel like he was a bad husband and that I was making people think he was abusive. It didn't worry him that he *was* a bad husband, or that he *did* abuse me, just that other people were finding out and how it made him feel.
That 3rd story. I would have been like, "You know what honey you're right, I have been working so hard, I DO deserve a spa week! Thanks for offering to watch the kids and pay for it as the breadwinner and everything. You're so sweet. I'll even take my sister! See everyone? Isnt he so nice and thoughtful?"
Ha!!!! That would have been hilarious to see, I can just picture that happening and and he’d be like “shocked Pikachu face” and he really couldn’t do anything about it because if he did then his family would “have an unrealistic impression of him”
I mean the husband in the first story literally chose his friends over his wife. Now he has to deal with the consequences of his actions. He played (or in this case, watched) a stupid game and he won a stupid prize.
hearing rslash break down almost to tears cuz of that ahole really moved me. something tells me he will be an amazing father for his daughter throughout all her life and that he will not become an ahole ever
The final story about the dude bashing his wife while he's "the breadwinner airline employee" the only reason a person acts like that is bc they're getting attention elsewhere and the more he makes the wife insecure, the less guilt he feels about getting young stewardess. He's being unfaithful.
OP has three children and zero help raising them. Husband in front of OP's family: you're not playing up the female stereotype of a 50s housewife. How unattractive!
For real, let’s hope he also reads the stories about women mistreating their children and any other story that doesn’t push the feminist nonsense. Makes it hard for me to take him seriously when he cherry picks the stories to fit an agenda
@@TKUA11 you're under every comment saying shit like this, like bro his whole thing was picking apart entitled (usually female) parents and karens, your view seems very uninformed cause he talks about shitty mothers all the time. Also aloy of people are less likely to talk about their shitty mothers because of the obligation most feel to love their mothers no matter what because of the "sacrifice" that they gave to have them, which would definitely lead to less stories being made, but yeah, that's cherrypicking feminism
You can really feel how much the first story affected Slash, and, since he has a child, you can really tell that he has a different perspective on childbirth and parenthood. Great story, as always!
You can tell with all the stories he reads, he likely is going to be one of the best fathers and husband's. Because he sees how bad other people are and likely (assuming at least) won't dare to go to that level
1st story: I was trying to imagine what I’d do in that woman’s situation but the truth is my partner and I wouldn’t have even gotten to that point before I cracked the shìts. ‘Oh, you want some time with your mates while we’re so close to due? Maybe you should just stay there and don’t bother coming home at all.’ Major red flag! He sounds like a flake who will run off at the first opportunity. 4/5 Also, @rSlash your reaction to this story was f-ing adorable and your family is lucky to have such a devoted father. 2nd story: Mmm neglectful father syndrome…damn who knew this line up would trigger me so much..? 🤬🤬🤬😤 Good on OP for being the grownup in this situation and doing what (unfortunately) a lot of males feel too uncomfortable doing. His father needs to grow the f*ck up. That man needs at least 4/5 for being so cruel to his daughter. 3rd story: GET OUT NOW OP!!! Get out, get out, get out!! Stay with you parents for awhile and think about what kind of impact that d-bags behaviour is going to have on your kids long term. If one of those kids is female, it will be even worse! I grew up with a very similar father figure and it was absolute hell and just got worse as I got older. Please, please, please don’t let it go! Nothing fixes dudes like this and it will only go from neglectful to out right abusive! 5/5!! (This line up was seriously triggering…I know the OP’s in these posts will never see my comments but f*ck, I just can’t stay quiet on these ones!)
It is amazing how many men seem to think that their responsibilities end when when they walk thru the door at the end of the work day, but never questions why their spouse doesn't sit down and join them. Thank goodness it is starting to change. My husband and I both worked outside the home, so we both worked when we got home to take care of the house and our daughter.
If all you have to do to make someone look like a bad person is tell people exactly what happened, you didn't make them look like a bad person, they are a bad person. period.
Does anyone else think the "rituals" the 1st husband was talking about might be drugs? Or even a drinking game that gets them really smashed so that he was waiting to sober up before he showed? That or maybe he's cheating?
While listening to those stories, it's reassuring to know that the one reading at least seems like a normal human being and a caring dad. "The image of my daughter being born is seared into my brain... *voice breaks down with emotion*". We need more of this in the world.
I know r/ is taken (so am I), but I low-key fell in love with him when listening to him talk about the birth of his daughter. I also love his indignation on behalf of the OP. One of the reasons I listen to this channel is because I feel like we get a glimpse of who he is, and he seems like a genuinely good dude. His wife is a lucky woman, indeed.
I gotta say, you are such a great man. When you talk about your wife and daughter it makes my heart so happy. I hear people make fun of men for crying and I just don’t understand why. You are made to have emotions that you can’t use. Thank you for making videos.
Husband : Lies to wife about coming to drive her to the hospital, comes to the birth after 2 hours and lies about supporting his wife during his own son's birth and getting called out on it. His mother : *Scolding* Husband : *scolding wife for telling the family* Wife : AITA? Rslash : WTF-
Anything you have to hide from other family members, is either abuse or neglect. OP should go stay with MIL for a few days, let her know how her son treats her behind his mom's back.
We need more dads like Rslash! Dude I was on the verge of tears when he was talking about the most beautiful and powerful moment he had with his baby and the very thought of him missing that if he played video games or whatever like the guy in OP's story, was gut wrenching
Woah... thank you so much for talking to us about the moment your daughter was born. That’s such a beautiful moment, I’m in tears and I appreciate you sharing it. 💕
RSlash you’re such a good dad, listening to you describe the birth of your daughter and even tearing up over it during recording, honestly I respect the hell out of your priority you feel towards your family, and I know your wife and daughter will have endless love from you. 🥰
I remember my dad having to bring me a change of clothes to school once or twice because I got a surprise period. This was back in 1995-96, and he never berated me or made a big deal of it. I don’t get the mentality of some men regarding periods.
I am the only girl in my family and I happened to start my period when my mom was not home. My Dad handled it like a champ. He went through my mom’s things found what I needed and talked me through how to put the pad on through the bathroom door then gave me a bowl of ice cream.
Mixed feelings here. I can't blame him or anyone else for their reactions (Except the giant assh*le husband). But it certainly cut me pretty deep. (Rightly so). Still, r/slash is amazing !
If OP in the first story's child has birthday parties on football days, will her husband not attend the birthday party, graduations, etc? OP gave her husband the right treatment telling his family. He failed her.
that's what i was thinking. unless he genuinely realises where his priorities were and makes to change, i'd have to wonder what happens when the child needs him when hes at another football game. which comes first? maybe its that they were drunk or high and he wanted to sober up first, but still like... just say youre incapacitated and will be there asap, send a cab and get legs... not lie at SUCH an important moment. shit can happen but not apologizing after, and then LYING???? sus
Ok, Dabne... PLEASE tell me how to find a man who loves their family the way you do? I love knowing it really does exist, but HOW DO I FIND IT?!?!? Your wife is so damn lucky! I'm a bit jealous. So happy you found each other, though, guys! XOXO
The football husband: We have a saying in our gaming community and that is "What we do here is just a game, if real life comes a knocking, take a break from the game and knock back. Everyone understands that RL (real life) takes precedence." I think that very much applies here. I keep hearing about people so obsessed with watching sports, that they literally miss out on other things or hamper other aspects of their life because of it. I don't quite understand that mentality. It is just a game and sometimes you need to step away and get your sh*t together. Edit: Spelling.
The musical Damn Yankees is about this phenomenon, of putting a beloved sport above family and everything else. Great show! I always thought it was hyperbole, and nobody would really be like that, but then... Hooray, internet! We get to see all the jerks in the world that would not have made it on our local news.
@@jordanknight3519 Thank you for pointing out my spelling. I'm usually better about it, but I mostly watch youtube on my phone and sometimes I don't catch when my phone does auto correct (original was presidence).
If my husband ghosted me for two hours for a football game and I was forced to call someone else for a ride to the HOSPITAL....he would be uninvited to the birth. Completely. I'd let the nurses know and the whole shebang. He wants to set his priorities. Fine. I'll help him maintain them. "Enjoy the game, babe." Then of course I'd leave him once I could put my feet back together. Pft.
Same. I'd tell the hospital staff, "If my husband tries to come in, he's on the banned list. Do NOT let him see me, or the baby!" I don't have to give a reason. They see it often enough. "Abusive spouse, not allowed near patients." Happens all the time. For both men and women, I might add. They have a procedure for that, the ban list, for a REASON. No explanation required, although I probably would be blathering about it, because DANG!
The manchild story… thank you op. Getting your period in school happens to alot of people lol me included. And its uncomfortable af having to sit in your own blood.

i know exactly how it feels to witness the birth of my 1st child, nothing on this planet will ever replicate the feelings i had at the moment i saw my son for the 1st time, or the overwhelming sensation of love that rushed into me and completely took over me at that exact moment, i even had to shout of my now ex partners mother who was trying to take center stage and tell me "not to block her view of the birth" i mean come on its literally a once in a lifetime event, nothing nowhere should come before supporting your significant other during such a magical event, especially if the child is your 1st

I was just waiting for him to use the story for an excuse to talk about his own daughter again, like fucking clockwork lmao
Don't forget that he gaslighted his wife afterwards for "making him look like a bad husband and father and causing a rift in his family". (facepalm)
I see divorce in that couple's future, sadly.

That husband in story 1 is a real piece of work. He got caught lying and now blames the truth-teller. What a piece of crap.
i remember a similar story , covered by r/slash as well where OP had surgery , her husband abandoned her to watch football and his friends blasted him for it and he went on and on how is op's fault that she ruined the thing
At that point,if the husband chooses a sport over her/her babies health, kick him to the curb
Nothing infuriates me more than people who don’t take responsibility for their actions. My stepdad did this bullshit too. He said she “made him experience so much shame” and was angry at her and didn’t talk to her for a week or so. Like wtf is wrong with these people? YOU DID IT TO YOURSELF

@@TKUA11 "Duties as a wife"??? you sound pretty sexist man
For the “man child” story i want to point something out.
I wish it could be held in. I would get such better sleep.

Her brother yelled “just go to the store with him!!” And she said “I don’t want to, I don’t feel good” and be yelled back “WELL SHUT THE FUCK UP THEN!!”
I was appalled. Unfortunately this type of verbal abuse is normalized in that household. My cousins honestly could benefit from years of therapy. I just pray she doesn’t end up stuck in that damn house and can move away from home. If I was single, living alone, and lived close to home, I would definitely let her live with me.
because the father is sexist, that has to be it, right?
It saddens me how the dad reacted to his son helping his sister with her period. My dad and both of my brothers have bought me feminine products or brought me Tylenol, sprite, or anything else I needed when I asked them, and they never once said it was a woman's job or inappropriate. Hopefully things will get better for the sister.
Yeah I help my sister when she got her period. And bought tampons and other things. I don't feel less of a man I just want to take care of my sister
My sister told me of a stand-up comedian she once saw. Instead of being ashamed to buy feminine products for his wife, he grabs a bunch of them, and then, at the check-out lane, holds them up proudly, while shouting, 'I HAVE A WOMAN!"
Yeah, that's my kind of man!
@@AuntLoopy123 that's amazing!

He loves his video games but if I was in labor he’d drop everything and drive me to the hospital
Story 2: if my son went and got his sister from school and got her feminine products when she unexpectedly went through her period, I would be so proud and even reimburse him for what he spent. Good big brother
That's very sweet
Worst case scenario, he can switch to a handheld and bring the game to the hospital. I don't game but I used to work electronics at Target and Switches were big deal for their versatility.
Yeah, this is a story about the dad being a douche, and not a story that pushes some feminist agenda
It is still regarding her sexual health, as the word "sex" has more meanings than intercourse.

Other thing for the last story - op could have responded with “well if you looked after the kids for a week maybe I could treat myself and get those things done”
To be honest: 50h /week ( about the time I’m out for work) should be enough for the household. So looking for the kids if most likely not an option, wouldn’t be for me.

If all you have to do to make someone look like a bad person is tell people exactly what happened, you didn't make them look like a bad person, they are a bad person. period.
This
Does anyone else think the "rituals" the 1st husband was talking about might be drugs? Or even a drinking game that gets them really smashed so that he was waiting to sober up before he showed? That or maybe he's cheating?
I'd go with cheating. They probably have women over and most likely, he lied to everyone there about his wife
They probably paint their skin and stuff and have weird chants. I don't think its cheating.... not for a sports game
Me, reading the video title: “New dad rSlash is gonna be pissed.”
rSlash: “Welcome to r/amithebutthole where rSlash gets angry.”
Me: “Yep.”
His mother : *Scolding*
Husband : *scolding wife for telling the family*
Wife : AITA?
Rslash : WTF-
Anything you have to hide from other family members, is either abuse or neglect. OP should go stay with MIL for a few days, let her know how her son treats her behind his mom's back.
everyone: WTF?!!!
Person: is bad
Rslash: Mildly upset to all out mad
Guy in first story: is a horrible parent
Rslash: *So you've chosen DEATH!*
Gloves came off completely. No holds barred, all the respect and love for his wife and daughter. Total Dad material right here.
Story 3: WTF is wrong with the husband?! He can berate her, but she can't respond? Sounds like narcissistic behavior to me.
That’s the vibe I got too. He might be cheating as well which is why he’s berating her and complaining about her looks to mess with her self esteem
Me after reading the title: Oh...no... R/Slash is gonna be pi$$ed!! This guy's gonna get 5/5 @$$holes!
Also me after the first story: CALLED IT!!!
You can just tell how pissed rslash is after the first story, that one hit him deep
I’m so used to Rslash being a default narrator that i never expected him to show that much emotion. I absolutely loved it.
Mixed feelings here. I can't blame him or anyone else for their reactions (Except the giant assh*le husband). But it certainly cut me pretty deep. (Rightly so). Still, r/slash is amazing !
@@johndoe-ek1qs you bet!
Everyone understands that RL (real life) takes precedence."
I think that very much applies here. I keep hearing about people so obsessed with watching sports, that they literally miss out on other things or hamper other aspects of their life because of it. I don't quite understand that mentality. It is just a game and sometimes you need to step away and get your sh*t together.
Edit: Spelling.
precedence*
From the word "precede" meaning "to come before".
Oh shit, five minutes R-Slash dragging this man in the first story, drag him R-Slash! Drag him!!
DRAG THAT DAD
@@herrscheroftheend1963 *DRAG THAT DAD!!!*

@@herrscheroftheend1963 Herrscher of the void!
@@-castus- TO HELL, WHERE HE WILL BE TOURUTED FOR HIS SINS THEN THEY'LL DRAG HIM SOMEWHERE!
Do NOT let him see me, or the baby!"
I don't have to give a reason. They see it often enough. "Abusive spouse, not allowed near patients." Happens all the time. For both men and women, I might add.
They have a procedure for that, the ban list, for a REASON. No explanation required, although I probably would be blathering about it, because DANG!
And then LIED about it in a spectacular manner in front of his wife?! What a disgusting person.
The manchild story… thank you op. Getting your period in school happens to alot of people lol me included. And its uncomfortable af having to sit in your own blood.
11:35 this made me crack up so hard xD I had to take a break from work just to stop laughing! Literally made me tear up! Thanks goodness I work from home, otherwise my co-workers would thing I'm going crazy xD
i know exactly how it feels to witness the birth of my 1st child, nothing on this planet will ever replicate the feelings i had at the moment i saw my son for the 1st time, or the overwhelming sensation of love that rushed into me and completely took over me at that exact moment, i even had to shout of my now ex partners mother who was trying to take center stage and tell me "not to block her view of the birth" i mean come on its literally a once in a lifetime event, nothing nowhere should come before supporting your significant other during such a magical event, especially if the child is your 1st
