I bought one just before Easter '23. It's a blast. Hills and headwinds, though, are your enemy (I live in the yorkshire dales!) I'm also a big fella in my 60s, and my days of big bikes are over, but I didn't want to hang up my helmet just yet, so this little bike is ideal. Cheap to run. Cheap to insure and 10/10 grin factor.
Thank you for a great video ! Do like the way you talk your way through the ride, reminds me of a very good driving instructor. Just traded in my Deauville for a brand new Cub125, it was getting too heavy for me to shunt around the garage. Funny how things go: 52 years ago I started out on a C50 and at 68 the C215 will probably be my last bike 😃.
Great little bikes, Ive got a 2021 red one here in Aus. They're little terriers, you can wring its neck and it just keeps going without complaint. Ive seen 115 kmh on the speedo, which is probably just over 100 maybe 105, but it likes 80 kmh best. It rewards a more laid back style, forget overtaking - just go with the flow. I learned to keep the momentum going and not rely on power like with a sports bike. Paying for petrol is the best part, i use coins in my jean pockets. Never come back from a ride without a smile. Thanks for the review 👍🇦🇺
Just bought a second hand one of these, will arrive on my Birthday 29th April and I cannot wait! My experience is; Supermoto Racing, Drag Racing, owned Fireblades, GSXR's and Ninjas - a very good friend of mine said to me many years ago! It does not matter what you ride, it's the riding and the freedom you feel riding a Bike that hit's the spot! How right he is!!!
I was going down Southport prom a few months back and about seven dudes on old C70s and a few on the C125 were screwing it down the seafront, heads on the bars. It must have been a Honda Plak club. Nice to see people having fun. I was going to buy one of these for my commute but I went for the PCX. Great review though.
🤣🤣 Great review Lofty, made me chuckle & bought back many memories. I leaned to ride on my grandads cast offs down Pooley pit just outside Polesworth. Started off on his original cub a C110 (50cc) you could always spot these as they had the oval shaped pipe, until my dad got his hands on it before me & replaced the rotten silencer with a length of Copper pipe out of the garage, yes me dad didn't like spending £ on repairs. I remember him coming up the road with it wound wide open & mates from school used to rush to the end of the road thinking there was an old Brit 350/500 coming up the road ..oh the laughs that bike caused & I had on it up the pit. If you ever get on one again, press the rear gear lever down & hold it down & build the revs up & then let go of the gear lever, they will wheelie a piece of cake. Shame about the lack of those cheap leading links type front forks, we used to squeeze the front brake when approach a hump up the pit as this caused the fron to rise & increase ground clearance around the copper, sorry exhaust pipe 😂😂... look forward to seeing one with proper paint on but that camera view of the "bars" really did bring back some memories, nice one Lofty
125's make a lot of sense on today's speed controlled, camera ridden roads. Plus road tax at £24 is a winner compared with the ridiculous £100 + for a big bike !
Good day to you. I am a grandpa rider on HONDA from Japan. Enjoying touring ,camping and video uploading. This is so nice review video Awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing! Full supported ! Have a nice day my friend!!
Tool kit , no doubt a double ended screwdriver and a spark plug spanner , what more do you need 😅 188 to the gallon , could go round the world in your tea break 😀 great little machines. Great video, i had a few mates when i worked on the Railway they had the original Honda 50 s & 90s and they used them every day for work sometimes great distances in all weathers . Brillian bikes . 😊 great review with a great sense of humour 😅 , keep up the good work 👏
We say one twenty five. Looks to be a cute, simple commuter bike. Being an American it is odd to see him driving on the left side of the road. Lol. I wish I could drive on those quaint roads.
i am wanting one of these. i had the c50 when i were unemployed. i went all over with it and costs were very cheap. i was great fun and i'm sure the 125 would be even better. the reliability is legendary. what's stopping me then. the worry it will get nicked and some rapscallions will wreak it.
It’s actually got two clutches a centrifugal and a more normal that is engaged when the gear change is depressed. If you hold the gear lever momentarily and release it gently while opening the throttle slightly you can get much smoother down changes.
I had a c90 that was one year older than myself and I was 41 and to be honest I wish I kept hold of it . Know I'm a few stone heavier than you probably three foot across and now 52 and after seeing a couple of videos on the c125 it's pricked my interest and really only use it to go work and back which is only five miles each way, I only have provisional license as much as I'd like to get a bigger bike i can weigh up the cost of getting a full bike license then a bike when I can do CBT and ride a 125 and if I wanted to do full licence I'd have to travel about 50 miles just to go to a centre
I would love one of these as it would fill almost all my riding needs. I would prefer it with a 200/250cc engine and conventional clutch though. Unfortunately being the same height as you I would definitely want a bigger frame... 😭
Would love to...I did the Grom. The Dax is such a good seller they don't put them on demo😢. It's the largest of all the Monkeys.....thanks for watching
I first rode a 50cc Cub 62 years ago. Kick start and the button start when it was up to running temp😁 Nice but I think you've made a case for having a RSPCM. Definitely cruelty to a Motorcycle😂

I saw the video for the new 2024 version and I like the speedo a lot more, nice, bright and very clear !
Shame they didn't give it around 15 Hp.

@@theloftybiker3090 the PCX 125 has 12.3 hp and SH 125 has 13 Hp.
The could have given the cub the same 13 Hp it would have made a difference.
