I appreciate that Eric understands how important the E36 was for North American BMW enthusiasts in the 90's. So many BMW CCA memberships and track weekends started with having an E36, which in turn did great things for BMW sales here. If you're a fan of the E46 M3, you have the sales success of the E36 M3 to thank!
Maybe it is the heritage of cracked rear subframes? Who knows? I never liked the E36 platfrom in any way. Quality, design, etc. there is no way it could compare to E46, nevermind the M3.

i saw this car in real life in the bmw world in munich and i was able to sit on the passenger seat for a ride with a bmw classic employee ...i will never forget this day :D
What an unbelievable master piece of Top Quality German engineering. You can see you really enjoyed yourself on that drive. I had a 3.2 Evo in estriol blue, also had a Cosmos Black 328i Sport when i was in my early 20s loved them both, wish i still had my M3 now :-( the price of them now here in the uk is crazy i bought mine about 7 years ago with 70k miles on it mint condition 2 owner car fbmwsh & i paid £4,500 i sold it for £6,500 that same car would be over 20k no problem now! going by what price others ive seen are. One day if i win the lottery im gonna get me another for sure E36 m3 my favourite car ever.
Love a nice e36 M3. I’ve had three and enjoyed them all. Here in the UK we got a special edition called the M3 GT Individual. Came in BRG with all the trimmings featured on this one but with the standard S50b30. Later we got something called the Imola Individual nicknamed the GT2. Same style but Imola paint and interior with the S50b32. Big bucks now and both limited to only 50 cars produced. Great to see the M1 loosing the wrap! 👌🏻
Drove a Gt 10 years ago. I still think the e36 is the best m3 built. More so the 3.2 than the 3l. The 3.2 will also beat the e46 in a dragrace. And with other dampers it's a lot more fun on a track also. It feels much more raw than the e46, in other words more fun
Dont see the most rare Bmw E36 ever built: "1994 E36 Mtechnic" in Alpine White III, Bbs Rc041 and Alcantara/Mrain interior. Only 150 produced for America and Canada.
Beautiful cars, just a shame you guys over the pond have to comply to keeping the U.S spec bumpers and the smog compliant power decreases compared to Euro spec machines. Great video though guys :)
Beautiful car! Didn‘t even know, that they made M3 GTs für the E36 until ich saw one on the streets near St. Gallen (Switzerland). Elite Garage Zuzwil is selling one with 89‘500km...
@@dinoj8126 This may be a longer answer than you expected but I just love sedans. I grew up playing Japanese racing games and I liked those vip style cars like the Toyota Chaser and Nissan Laurel and so on the most. And this was the only BMW in that game and I think the sedan style of the E36 captures the bmw styling I like as well as those Japanese VIP sedans I grew up loving.
E36 M3s are a legendary master piece of German engineering & have a timeless classic design with simple lines but aggressive looks. I think the simplicity of tge design is why the car still looks so well & hasn't aged & still looks modern & fresh. E36 m3s are my favourite car to. The best if the m3s in my opinion they have such character i had a 3.2 evo in estriol blue about 7 years ago absolutely loved it wish i never sold it especially with the way the prices of them are now!
@@crisl9518 Stiffer chassis? This is false information. And there is not much weight difference between a sedan & coupe, it's mainly related to the equipments. Only the convertibles are significantly heavier.
Thing of beauty it is. I've had a e36 95 325is with aftermarket stuff someone else put on and now have an 02 330i that I thought I'd hate, but I have to give the edge to the e46. The turn in with those is so much more immediate than the previous model. That being said the e36 wins the beauty contest every time. I'd suggest picking one up now because they're starting to disappear in stock form, either by way of mods or into the junkyard, and prices of good examples are starting to climb.
