    LYRICS:
Half of me wants to knock you out
Half of me wants to tell you that I'm sorry, so sorry
Meanwhile, half of the world wants to scream and
Shout at half of the world
    Just like you and I
    Just another fact of life
    We plan and we scheme
'Til there's nothing left of our little dream
But half of the time I can't decide and
Half of the time I'm petrified
I want to change the world
I want to make it well
How can I change the world
    When I can't change myself
    Try again tomorrow
I'd love to change your mind
    Capture your citadel
How could I change your mind
    If I can't change myself
    Try again tomorrow
Both of us want to win this fight
Both of us think the other is mistaken, so mistaken
Meanwhile, everyone wants to take up sides
So everyone helps us to fall apart
    Just another…

this song was featured in a music video on a computer animation tape in the early 90s. as a child I wondered why a man would feel so powerless. as an adult trying to change for the better I completely understand where he's coming from.

The pureness of being a child. Deep inside, we all wish to feel that again

I remember the high school version of myself in 1992 and this tape was being played in my walkman on the regular. SO often. Now I'm 47. Time passes faster than anyone can truly communicate. I remember that little high school girl when I close my eyes. The words ring even mean true now.

Todd must have given everyone in the audience sleeping pills for this recording because you can't hear any crowd sounds.

They were told not to cheer, but they did anyway at the end of "The Smell of Money." Joe Jackson did something similar when he recorded "Big World."

The crowd wasn't mic'd during the songs, so that helped.

@@cubdukat The other way to do it is by using mics that that roll off around one to one and a half feet. They don't pick up any sound beyond that. Knowing Todd knew this, I'm sure they were employed.
