This is one of the songs I remember listening to on my portable radio while laying in bed when I was a kid in the mid seventies. I used to fall asleep to the endless stream of great music coming in from all over. I loved spinning the dial in the dark, until I found something cool. Late at night, the a.m. stations got me stations from other countries talking exotic languages. Great memories.

Memories of being small in that span when i was still too young for kindergarten, riding around in the car with my mom as she ran errands for my grandparents. My brother and sisters were all more into disco, funk and R & B and my dad was more into country, 50's rock and Ranchera/Tejano stuff, so i have to assume mom was where i got my fondness for Rundgren, America, Gordon Lightfoot, etc., (don't get me wrong, i love all the stuff i grew up listening to, and always have an ear out for new things)... all the AM radio soft rock goodies...

Well at least you got Number 1 right. Pretty obscure list even for a big Todd fan. Two covers, three from a little known import. Ignores over half his/utopias discography. Just saying.

When I play this music to the younger generations on my Pioneer SX 1050 with the 150 pioneer speakers, they sit quietly with their mouths open. 😂😂😂

I was 15 when this double album came out (Something/Anything?). My 18 year old brother bought it, and I immediately latched on to it. I was just beginning to mess around with playing bass guitar at the time, and this song and album were so influential, especially when I found out that Todd provided all the instruments and vocals on this song (and half that album). Pure genius! Todd Rundgren produced many other famous groups, and that was maybe his greatiest contribution. The best album by "XTC" was produced by Rundgren.
