  • Early Sunday-morning sign-off clip featuring great aerial video of the L.A. skyline at night. It is preceded by two promos for KCET local programs and an Asian Getaway promotion. In the original video, submitted to SignOffsGuy by Joseph Goria of Los Angeles, there were numerous PBS program promos, but for the sake of brevity, they were edited out.

KCET is now an non-commercial educational independent public TV station, after being affiliated with PBS on January 1, 2011, when KOCE-TV took over PBS and became PBS SoCal as the successor PBS station, in Huntington Beach Hollywood and Los Angeles for all of Southern California. But this KCET sign-off, did mark the conclusion of its broadcast day from its former studios on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, now the site of the Church of Scientology in Hollywood. KCET's current studios are now in Burbank, not far from the former NBC Studios (Now The Burbank Studios).

Wow, a sign off in 2006! So cool! I must admit, I hated seeing those test patterns back then, but I miss them now.

Test Patterns got more interest when they stopped showing them. People then enjoyed the Colour bars and Music played but not so much the tones. Some Ladies claimed they liked the beeping

There's one the announcer forgot to mention-KCET first signed on the air on September 28, 1964 as an affiliate of National Education Television (NET).

I didn't know that there were still some TV networks that signed off at night in 2006. I thought TV went 24/7 by 2000.
