Wailing Widow Falls…with such a sad story of why it’s called that. It is beautiful though, but we absolutely adore being by water…but have major respect for its power and force. That was an ‘oh my goodness’ moment for us as well….stunning waterfall 👍😍 The drone footage and music choice…just beautiful and perfect 😍

Ah Thankyou Donna - yes it’s a really wild and remote area. The weather was really bad when we were there and it was the middle of June 😃😃. But that just added to the atmosphere of the place. Assynt is so wild and beautiful. We must go back soon! Those mountains are incredible!

Not really a path along the gorge mainly a scramble over rockfalls trying to avoid getting wet! 😃 But Assynt is a stunning area. We loved it up there. Those falls are very tricky to reach. There’s no path and a lot of rockfalls to get over. But it was well worth risking a cold dunking 😃 to see them from the bottom rather than the top Thanks for the lovely comment again 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hiya Sue. Yeah it’s difficult to get to. The top path is just a short stroll from a car park but you don’t get a very good view. So along the gorge it was. There are rockfalls and a very slippery path in places but it is quite difficult. But so worth it for that first view. Took my breath away, honestly! What an amazing area - we must get back up there soon. Hope you’re having a great weekend - and that you have a good week ahead.

Hi Dave there falls were stunning and the legend was sad especially if any of it was true . I can just feel as a mother of a son, the widows grief after having no husband she then loses her son to these falls , tragic that she then threw herself in because of her sadness . Loved the footage from down below and the drone footage along with Serges beautiful music . So moving ~ Anna 👍

It really is a spectacular falls - very difficult to get to along the gorge but so worth the effort. Took my breath away when I turned the corner and saw it!! Yes Serge’s music is just so emotional. He can’t post new compositions at the moment as they only have 2-3 hrs of electricity per day What a dreadful situation. And it’s 2022 😨😨😨

I tell you what Paul you would love Assynt. Pretty remote in places and the beaches had a few around but still pretty quiet. The mountains are absolutely unbelievable. I wanted to do the Fiddler but the weather all week was rubbish so we stuck to getting some drone footage from near there And Suilven looks an awesome hike 😍😍 Couldn’t get enough of spotting it from everywhere Fantastic place. It’s amazing. Takes your breath away as you turn the corner of the gorge. It is a difficult place to get to. Trying not to fall in all the way along 😃😃. - no real path just a load of scree and rockfalls 😃😃. The top path is simple but you don’t get that surprise view!! Have a great week ahead Yasmin 👍👍

Ha thanks Ant. It does feel like weeks away when you’re driving it 😃😃 I really think that there are parts of Sutherland and a bit of Assynt which must be like a Norwegian Fjord. Just completely spectacular. The Falls were great especially as you have to really struggle to get up there through the bottom of the gorge. And it’s a breath taking sight as you round the corner. The mountains seem to rise straight out of the bog and the seascapes and beaches are stunning!
We loved it up there.
Those falls are very tricky to reach. There’s no path and a lot of rockfalls to get over. But it was well worth risking a cold dunking 😃 to see them from the bottom rather than the top

Hiya Sue. Yeah it’s difficult to get to. The top path is just a short stroll from a car park but you don’t get a very good view.
So along the gorge it was. There are rockfalls and a very slippery path in places but it is quite difficult.
But so worth it for that first view. Took my breath away, honestly!
What an amazing area - we must get back up there soon.

Hi Dave there falls were stunning and the legend was sad especially if any of it was true . I can just feel as a mother of a son, the widows grief after having no husband she then loses her son to these falls , tragic that she then threw herself in because of her sadness . Loved the footage from down below and the drone footage along with Serges beautiful music . So moving ~ Anna 👍

I tell you what Paul you would love Assynt. Pretty remote in places and the beaches had a few around but still pretty quiet. The mountains are absolutely unbelievable. I wanted to do the Fiddler but the weather all week was rubbish so we stuck to getting some drone footage from near there
And Suilven looks an awesome hike 😍😍

It’s amazing. Takes your breath away as you turn the corner of the gorge. It is a difficult place to get to. Trying not to fall in all the way along 😃😃. - no real path just a load of scree and rockfalls 😃😃. The top path is simple but you don’t get that surprise view!!

I really think that there are parts of Sutherland and a bit of Assynt which must be like a Norwegian Fjord. Just completely spectacular.
The Falls were great especially as you have to really struggle to get up there through the bottom of the gorge. And it’s a breath taking sight as you round the corner.
But we loved it up there - such a stunning place - those mountains seem to rise straight up out of the bog!!
