Broadway has one of the last manned crossing gates in the US. There is a man in that tower who controls the crossing gates.
The street crossing is Broadway, I believe, if memory serves.
He is refuring to the total number of roads that have service in this area. The other 4 railroads you saw were bankrupt roads or run through leasers.
Wish the Grand Trunk Western was still rolling through here!
The GT had a small transfer yard just to the south of here back in the 1980's, seems like yesterday!

chicago suburb, but, this is also little mexico.has been little mexico for years.i was there in the early 1980s, and everything was mexico.
the distant overhead line is the old Rock island main.
when i was there, the iowa interstate had gp9s,chessie ran through here,BRC ran alcos.milwaukee power, etc,,,
