  • Wondering what is a hybrid publisher? How is it different from a traditional publisher, a vanity publisher, or even just straight-up self-publishing? There are many options these days for publishing your book and hybrids offer a solution that is somewhere between self-publishing and traditional publishing but many have bad reputations. During this video, author Julie Broad explains what all the different publishing options are, and specifically, what is a hybrid publisher and what should you watch out for?

All vanity publishers are hybrid publishers. But not all hybrid publishers are vanity publishers. Exactly. With a good hybrid you get far better royalties than you would with a traditional publisher and not much less than if you went solo with Amazon.

Hi Linda - we rarely take on marketing only clients. We're looking at building out a service for this but our experience has been that it is tough to help a book succeed if it's missing the fundamentals. This video explains: ruclips.net/video/VwtYvIU6DOo/видео.html
Our services are on our website here: booklaunchers.com/self-publishing-services-overview/

While the thought of an advance with traditional publishing sounds nice, I’d much rather own my rights and have creative control. I mean, it’s my blood, sweat and tears, so I should get credit and have a say. So, self-publishing for the win!
Hybrid publishing has its place, too, but…as long as I still own my work. Kinda protective over that, rightly so. :-P

Most of the industrialists of the world pay money to the raw material provider for their raw materials for their industry and then sell their cooked/final product to the user, but a hybrid/vanity publisher is the only industrialist who asks for cooperation amount in place of paying to the raw material provider.
Yes, you heard it right. They do not pay money for raw materials (i.e., literature created by writers). Because they don't want to take the trouble of going to the user (i.e., the reader) of the cooked material or final product (book)? Why bother when you can make money just by printing the book?
