Wrocław Christmas Market! This Can't Be POLAND 🎅🏻 Europe's Best Christmas Market.

- This week is our third and final Christmas video in Poland. We’ve headed from Krakow to the city of Wrocław to check out their Christmas Market!
People told us that Wrocław just might have have the best Christmas Market in Poland so we knew we absolutely had to check it out!
We ended up accidentally picking one of the busiest days to visit the market but it made for great fun. While there we discovered carnival rides, some Christmas Gnomes that matched the Gnomes you find all around Wroclaw, and even a performance by a loud Santa Clause along with a few of his sidekicks.
One neat thing about the Wrocław Christmas Market is that they have separate buildings where drinks are served. They have an abundance of drink options but we decided on hot chocolate with amaretto (it was delicious).
Later on on the video we checked on their absolutely amazing Christmas tree (one of the prettiest we’ve seen), and got a gingerbread cookie.
ABOUT WROCLAW
Wrocław is a city on the Oder River in western Poland. It’s known for its Market Square, lined with elegant townhouses and featuring a modern fountain. Also on the square is the Gothic Old Town Hall, with its large astronomical clock. Nearby is the Panorama of Racławice, a painting depicting the 1794 battle for independence. The Centennial Hall auditorium, with its giant dome and tall spire, lies across the river.

yes, that's a surprising title ! why "this can't be Poland"... ???would you write the same if it would be in Spain or Italy ???Thank you anyway, Poland is amazing !
I guess Im kind of off topic but do anybody know a good site to stream new tv shows online ?
@Callen Koa i dunno atm I've been using Flixportal. you can find it on google :P -bryson
@Bryson Miller Thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I appreciate it !!
@Callen Koa You are welcome :D
Poland is really something special ..
100% .. it's easily one of our favourite countries out there - Anna
I’ve been to many Christmas markets in Europe and my personal favourite is Wroclaw
It was incredible! Wow - Anna
We are from Kerala, India and people from Kerala will have a broad smile on their face moment you mention the name POLAND. It is because of a famous dialogue from an old comedy movie. I planned to visit Poland couple of times earlier but could not due to different reasons. Finally we visited last week (son, wife, and I) and spent couple of days in Wroclaw. We were bit skeptical and cautious but Wroclaw surprised us especially the Christmas market. It is the best Christmas market we ever visited and we really enjoyed our stay there. One best thing about Wroclaw Christmas market is it looks pretty nice even during day time. Thank you POLAND!
Latheesh Koroth regards btw what was a name of that commedy?
Yeah, quote that
Your Christmas series in Poland has been amazing to watch... Who knew that Poland had so many beautiful Xmas markets? How did you guys find these locations and would you go back and do it again?
Thanks Pat! We had so much fun filming it as well. I think a lot of people (especially outside of Europe) don't think of Poland when it comes to Christmas markets. We'd do it all again yes... we found most spots by Googling and asking locals / our IG followers - Anna
🇵🇱👍
in Gdansk there is also a very nice Christmas Market, by the way you can visit the Gdańsk oliwski Christmas Park
Oh my gosh! I wish I could go there! That looks absolutely amazing!! P.S. I totally would have rode that ride! 😂😂
Thank you for this LOVELY video series on POLAND!
it's so nice to hear that you enjoyed it here! Wroclaw is my hometown and I'm always happy when someone visits us and have a good time here. many greetings from Poland! :)
I am born and raised in Wroc'love' we're saying here :) Love my city from the bottom of my heart and I am so proud of it :) Glad you guys love my city too...Wrocław is 1 000 years old but actually it was mapped on the ancient map of Claudius Ptolemy from 142-147 AD... So yeah...lots and lots of history here :) oh, btw... next time visit Piwnica Świdnicka... It's the oldest restaurant in Europe... First historic facts about this restaurant are dated about 1273...Bills from 1332 have been preserved, in which the fact of importing Świdnicki beer was recorded. The entrance to the restaurant (it's a basement) is from the south side of the Old Town Hall building. Enjoy :)
Wrocław has the best Christmas market. As always it was nice to watch your vlog. Merry Christmas.
Thanks so much for always following along. Merry Christmas! - Trevor
I like the big white Christmas tree in lights.
It's the best tree we saw yet Steve. Poland is amazing! 🤗 - Anna

I am born in Wroclaw but living now in UK ....thank so much to make this great shots ....last time I visit in 2019 this video bring so much great memories !!! MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS AND GOOD WIND IN YOUR TRAVELS ....Next time make series about dwarfs .
We love Christmas Markets and this one is currently at the top of the list. It’s looks incredible. Great video x
Thanks so much! 😊
I was born in Poland but I haven't lived there since I was a small child. Anyway, sorry some of my fellow Poles are being rude to you in the comments - I think we're all just a little exhausted from the whole world being surprised when they find out that Poland is not complete crap! Haha :) Thank you for visiting and for opening people's eyes to some of its awesomeness. We need more open minded people like you.
Thank you so much. It's great to get comments like this as we are trying to help bring travellers to Poland 😃 - Trevor
You're quite right ! even now, most of people are surprised to "discover" that Poland has many to offer. Like if it would just come out of the sovietic era !!! Anyway I'm confident that this kind of reaction will soon belong to the past, as Poland is becoming always more a turistic destination !
@@vodkila194 I think Poland must be paying folks like these to visit and make these tourist videos, to bring in more tourists and spread awareness. I don't suspect these guys came through their own volition. But I could be wrong!
@@DelightfulTravellers Well, thank you, but Poland is popular tourist destination with at least around 21 milion tourist visited country in 2019 - more or less on the same level like.. Canada. With high level of services, modern infrastructure and a lot of attractions to offer, such a big tourist-economy market like Poland don't need too much advertisement.

Hey guys. This is Eric. It was really cool to see my birth father's hometown of Wroclaw. The Christmas Market looks so beautiful with all those lights.
Hey Eric, thanks for watching. The square in Wroclaw is even more beautiful by day as well. It's so colourful! We just wanted to film it at night when the lights were on 🤗- Anna

So glad you came to visit my home city! I was accually working at this market for whole month.
We had a blast at the market Klaudia. It must be a lot of fun working there 😄 - Anna
You know what, I was in Wrocław yesterday on the market and it was interesting. I know this city is your favorite in Poland.
The eyes don't lie. I also saw comments and accidentally you touched a certain complex. Poles have a complex towards richer countries in Europe, especially Germany.
The second thing is the "patch" of the post-communist country and calling Poland an Eastern European country. This has a pejorative meaning - shithole. We are Catholics, we use the Latin alphabet, we love freedom and we hate regimes. Many people know nothing about Poland and use sterotypes. Our location in the middle of the continent is our curse during the war, a blessing in peace. 400 years ago Poland was one of the most powerful countries in Europe - three times larger than now. We were the only ones to conquer Russia. In the nineteenth century we were not on the maps. Because of this we have a split personality. Another thing is the trauma of World War II. Never say "Polish death camps" it hurts especially if a family member was murdered in a concentration camp - like my uncle.
I wanted to share with you this:

The best gingerbread in Poland is from Toruń. Gothic gem (UNESCO) and hometown of Copernicus.
December 6 is Saint Nicholas Day. Children get presents then. July 26 is Saint Anne's Day. Trevor, don't show up on that day without a gift. I recommend then visiting Zieleniec near Duszniki Zdrój.
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I wish you to spend it with your family.
Regards Szymon.
Thanks for watching as always Szymon. Actually our favourite city now in Poland is Krakow.. mainly because of Kazimierz. What a neighbourhood that is! Speaking of important days.. Anna's birthday is on Christmas Day 😃 - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers I am surprised that you have not been to Kazimierz before. I think you haven't seen decius park and zakrzówek. I love Wawel. Especially the Sigismund Chapel. Kraków is best on Saint John's night. What are your plans for 2020, because I think about Uzbekistan and especially about Samarkand ?! What can I wish for your wife - a successful journey and further passion in what she does.

Thank you! We missed Wroclaw - Anna
Beautiful !!! Good luck !!!
The gingerbread you had is more for a decorative purpose. The real polish gingerbread is soft and often with yummy marmelade filing and coated in chocolate. :)
It tasted good to us 😃 We did say it's an ornament haha - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers haha...I would snap all my teeth on that gingerbread.

How are you traveling between cities? Train/Plane/Car?
We realized after filming that clip that we probably could have went on. hehe... next time! We trained to Wroclaw from Krakow and took the bus from Krakow to Zakopane. Merry Christmas guys! ⛄ - Trevor
Poland has quite good communication between cities and event towns or villages even The cheapest and most populars are trains and buses ( more options than by trains) also traveling by autostop is still popular in Poland.
Great video! You seem happy and enjoyed the good time :) cant wait to see the xmas market in Wrocław !
We had the best time Marta. Poland is one of our favourite countries and when you throw in Christmas Markets... it's a whole new level of awesomeness - Trevor

Main reason we have those holiday markets is they good for business, economy. That's the best part of this season. BTW, what's the difference between Polish vs Canadian moose? Good luck guys, great videos!
haha.. i'm sure the moose are the same. Too funny.. great question btw - Trevor
Canadian Christmas sucks. I have spent it this year in Toronto. You couldn't say that is Christmas.

What dates do the Christmas markets start and end?
What is important, is that Poland is a really SAFE country when compared to the other western European countries.

"Hollywood’s war with Poland" ... www.amazon.com/Hollywoods-Poland-1939-1945-M-B-B-Biskupski/dp/0813125596
@Delightful Travellers: I speak German, so I chased my text in Polish over the German google translator. the translation fits
Kino w latach trzydziestych i czterdziestych XX wieku było najważniejszym medium w USA (era telewizji nadeszła dopiero w latach pięćdziesiątych). Podczas II wojny światowej w USA rocznie produkowano ponad 500 filmów. Większość Amerykanów chodziła do kina kilka razy tygodniowo. Amerykanie kochali produkcje przemysłu filmowego i wierzyli w nią bezkrytycznie. Kino kształtowało gusta i poglądy (o wiele bardziej niż robiła to wcześniej prasa).
Nakładem Fijorr Publishing Company ukazała się książka profesora historii z Central Connecticut State University M. B. B. Biskupskiego "Hollywood's War With Poland, 1939-1945" (Nieznana wojna Hollywood przeciwko Polsce 1939-1945) na temat negatywnego obrazu Polaków w filmach amerykańskich w czasie IIWS i źródeł tych nieprzychylnych stereotypów. Biskupski w swej pozycji, zdecydowanie bolesnej dla Polaków mających irracjonalny sentyment do USA, opisuje prosowiecką i antypolską propagandę Hollywood podczas II wojny światowej. Autor jako przykłady produkcji powielających antypolskie stereotypy podaje takie filmy jak ("In Our Time" W naszych czasach) i ("None Shall Escape" Nikt nie ucieknie) oba z 1944, a także popularną komedię ("To Be Or Not To Be" Być, albo nie być) z 1942.
p. s. btw. WARNER BROS, the Warner surname was perhaps originally "Wonsal" ---> Aaron, Szmul, Hirsz and Itzhak Wonsal (wiki 🙄)

Mein Stadt Mein ❤️ :)
Not sure how I feel about the title "This can't be Poland". Whatever do you mean? I'd rather not even think about it...
Those cone-shaped holiday trees are pretty much everywhere, usually around shopping centres, and most people think they're ugly for how artificial they look. To be fair, it's just a metal scaffolding wrapped in plastic chains and ornaments.
C'mon people. Stop complaining about the title. They've done much more for Poland than most of us.

Missed out on a really nice ride because it "could be awkward". I'm a tiny bit disappointed.
why "this can't be Polnad" ?
We didn't expect such an 'over the top' amazing Christmas market like this to be in Poland.
Delightful Travellers Why not?
@@markg1531 Because you don't see a whole lot about Polish Christmas markets anywhere. Especially where we are from in Canada. Germany and Austria is what we mostly hear about it. The reason we went there is to 'show it off' so that others know. Basically many people don't think something like this would be in Poland so we want to prove them wrong.
We've gotten great feedback on the whole Christmas series and many of our followers have told us that Poland is now going on their list of places to visit (especially during the Christmas season) - Trevor
Delightful Travellers Thank you for taking the time to reply and for being considerate. Poland was betrayed by the allies in WW2 and we are a bit tired of their condescension after they had pushed us into the arms of the Soviets which resulted in our country getting utterly ruined and desolate. After 30 years of freedom we won for ourselves, and many other European countries, things are looking much better. But as you can probably tell, I’m still sensitive about it, perhaps overly so. Anyway, I enjoy your videos and I hope you continue to enjoy Poland.

@@adski5005 yes, but why it can't be nice and has great atractions, like christmas market? I mean, why so suprized?
