honestly a lot of fake australian accents just annoy me. i get it, that’s what you think most of us sound like, but in reality there’s only that part of the population that speaks that way. a lot of our accents are toned down.
Yeah... nah... it's awful actually. No one has ever done a good Australian accent. Robert Downey Jr in "Natural Born Killers" sounded more like a New Zealand accent, if that. In this clip, Clarkson sounds like a Pom just using a different accent
@@juzstorm I don't think it's true that no one has every done a good Australian accent. Dev Patel did a good one in Lion, and Benedict Cumberbatch was pretty good when he played Julian Assange. I find people get hung up saying 'I'm Australian and such and such sounds nothing like me' when in actual fact we have so many differing accents.
As someone who lives in the NT, it's not the temperature that makes it awfull to sleep at night, it's the humidity. The humidity gets up to 98%, and the lowest would be 70%.
Plus No electrical device is older than 4 years old ( lightning or humidity knocks them out ) , you all wear sandals or thongs , and the walls have grills up to the huge windows . Women dont wear bras , its full of young people , the ground bubbles water everywhere , and very vicious Salties swim in the ocean
Top gear would be nothing without the three of them. Clarkson is hilarious, but without James or Hammond, it wouldn't work for 22 seasons. They've done something that's impossible to replicate. It will be sad when they're too old to continue.
What it takes me to drive from a city of 200, 000 people to the capital of my state Brisbane is enough to cross several European countries, and it's on in 1 state still, Australia is amazing.
The reason those cattle farms are so big is because it takes that much land to feed all the cattle. The land out there is scrubby desert with little nutrients so takes more to satisfy a cow
I'm really itching to see this episode. I just wanna see my fellow Aussies taking the piss outta them for driving around 3 high end cars in the outback. =)
I'm a train driver stationed at Wickham, WA. It's 1,600km north of Perth and there's almost nothing in between. It's 2,600km to Darwin and same deal. A fellow at work who lives in SA has a hobby farm that's 27,000 acres.
I somewhat agree. Sometimes it would be more entertaining if they would just introduce the guest, ask "how do you think you did", show the lap, then say bye. Use the remaining time that was allotted to the star in the car to show outtakes
Telling distance by hours is also a thing of the rural American Midwest. My parents who live in northwestern Nebraska give their location via how many hours it is to get to any towns of note. Three hours from Rapid City, South Dakota; five hours to Denver, Colorado, and so on.
Stryke And if you live near where my parents do, that five hours' drive to Denver must be undertaken in order to get to an aeroplane in the first place. It's bogglingly remote, really.
Haven't seen this special yet.I just saw the Argintine one tonight on bbc Canada and Im trull saddened by the way they were treated.I belive that was a honest mistake. Hope when I see this episode its better.
don't know why the British are surprised by the size and sparseness of Australia, look how many times the united kingdom can fit into Australia's land mass with 3X our population.
Because even that is misleading. Almost all of the population hugs a small part of the coast. Internally Australia is very sparsely populated. Only a few places in the world compare.
I don't understand what's with the Australians to them. Take Japan for instance, their currency is mumbled up and so is their time, They don't say that Japan's up-side down though
Because most of Japan is cultivated and actually extremely well-organised, in Japan if the train is late by a minute they give you a free pass for the journey, in Britain if a train's late by a minute that's considered punctual.
I loved the movie but it was cruel watching the nice and expensive cars rally through that dust mountain. I would not do that to expensive cars like that. Nick22
Just saw it, IMO not the best one they have done, we didn't meet any of the amusing outback characters; and I felt they were blocked of ideas of what to do next?
"australians need a new unit of measurement as acre is too small" - Clarkson, yea mate its call a hectare hahaha
Umm a hectare is freaking tiny. Still not Aussie enough.
It's called the "square kilometer" lads

Australia's largest (paddock) cattle station is the size of Taiwan
M8 we have millions of this farms lol even bigger ones the one I work on is about 2.3 million acres

Clarkson does a 10/10 Aussie accent.
I’d say about a 7 out of 10. But literally the only non-Aussie I’ve heard that I can tolerate.

You certainly were right, Top Gear is nothing without them.
The appropriate unit to measure the size of cattle stations in Australia is the "Belgium"" (eg 2.5 Belgiums is an average to larger size station)
What it takes me to drive from a city of 200, 000 people to the capital of my state Brisbane is enough to cross several European countries, and it's on in 1 state still, Australia is amazing.

Laughed so much at tonights episode when Clarkson mentioned the number plates.
Really awesome episode but i'd really prefer the news over the star in the car segment.

nice shoes james!
ahaha :D
Well, he is called Captain Slow, so Hammond can be Captain Fashion.
Thx
The interviewer, who is Christian O'Connell, is a host on a Melbourne radio station!
Probably one of the most entertaining episodes, enjoyed this one and three great cars
For the record, whenever British people attempt to do Australian accents they were so bad that Dick Van Dyke would scoff.
Was an awesome episode of top gear, one of the best imo

You really need some highways where you can drive faster ... or things like public transportation. Driving an average of 300km/h helps ;)

you srs? the car reviews are the most boring thing ever
