  • This is a modification to the Honeycomb Alpha Yoke that decreases the up/down pressure needed to move the yoke in or out to change the elevator position. It is about at 15-30 min mod that is reversible and does not require any re-calibration of the yoke. I used 2 5/16"x3" tension springs with 0.88 pound tension and shortened to about 2". Also with taking the pitch bungee cord lose on both ends and allowing it to remain connected to the carriage.

Any tips on removing the lid ? I have taken off the eight screws but the lid seems hard to take off?

First of all thank you you made a very interesting video. I have the problem that in the dive it is really very hard . By simply changing the springs I should solve the problem right? The only doubt I have living in Italy and the length of the springs and the 0.4kg is ok or should I take a different weight considering I am looking for softness in dive and gyro. Thank you very much. Hi.

Thanks for the details! Which mod are you using for that vertical mounting of the table clamps?

I made a larger/wider mounting bracket out of a small piece of plywood which as you can see, allows me to put the screw clamps on top. This set up only requires clearance of 3/8”. I removed the 1” diameter center piece from the original bracket and installed it in the new plywood. If you would like PM me with an email and I will send some photos for detail

It has worked out great and I am very glad I modified it. After getting the spring lengths set so that it centers I have not made any other adjustments. And the springs have not came loose or stretched
