This is full of so many creatures i love . i wish they were still here . humanity is always really cruel . its up to us doing research to make it better .
Ngl I clicked on this video expecting ‘extinction’ to be the name of a fandom I wasn’t in, not literally animals that had gone extinct. This is fantastic regardless, and I am not in any way disappointed. Excellent work.
Had a friend recommend this because they were in shock that this didn’t have over a 1000 views and I’m inclined to side with them. This is beautiful artistry and your skill in complex anatomy is fascinating. The colors used at the beginning genuinely blew my mind. Thank you for creating this, I hope you have an excellent day
when a few years ago i learned that the species of main character of rio have gone extinct i cried. its sad that most people dont realise how much humans affect Earth and its nature. how much beatiful animals we could see alive if people could have just stopped hunting them down and breaking their habitat...
Spix macaw could still be saved. It's extinct in the wild, but there are captive populations, and they want to be able to reintroduce them to the wild eventually.
@@CynicalEscapist some have already been released and as of now 5 chicks have hatched in the wild, but they are still classified as extinct in the wild for now despite this
This is instantly going into my top 5 favorite animations ever. Honestly, even when I realized what this PMV was about, I still found myself caught off guard by how hard it hit me. I got surprisingly emotional. It’s not like this isn’t something to be emotional about, it’s just the type of emotional response I had. It wasn’t the up front “see this sad thing and feel consciously sad”, but more of a deep subconscious dread that grew with each frame. By the time it was showing skeletons I felt so distressed. The Thylacine being found in a museum now was special to me because it was the first recently extinct animal I ever learned about and it’s actually one of my favorite animals. It was the first time I really saw that animals can go extinct in the present, I’d heard of endangered animals (mainly tigers), but never thought that they could actually disappear. The cat part at the beginning was probably my favorite. People don’t realize how bad cats are for the environment, they just let them outside whenever they like (which also endangers the cat and risks overpopulation from unfixed pets, plus the spread of diseases between cats that are unvaccinated). And if you try to inform them of the threat their cat poses, they insist that it doesn’t matter and that the statistics must be false. As a cat owner (and lover) who once allowed my cats to free roam, I advise others to learn from the information you’re given and keep the cats indoors or on harnesses. It should make anyone feel profoundly sad and guilty to know that their reckless cat ownership has contributed to the steep decline and even extinction of small animals. All in all, this is just such an amazing piece of work, and I hope it was very well received in your class. I’d imagine the people in that space would really understand and resonate with it.
As an animal artist, I can’t even begin to tell you how much respect I have for this, and how beautiful it is. Skeletons take forever to draw, and you conveyed this subject matter perfectly
i love it!!!! very nice work, always felt terrible about extinction and the consequences of it, so this really hit a spot in my heart. very beautiful :3
As a wildlife science student and artist, this is wonderfully done and made me cry justttt a little bit. I love how you represented such a variety of taxonomic groups!! I now have so many more extinct creatures to learn about!!!
I know everyone is analysing this as a thought piece but as a piece of art, there's something so striking about the mocking, gleefully derisive tone of the song choice's lyrics juxtaposed with what's going on onscreen. It really hits home that kind of dissonant, stomach-churning sense of _"the people responsible for all these losses would sooner cheer than mourn them"_
This is so incredible and saddening, this should be shared! I just wish there were also some species of insects but then again, drawing so many skeletons detailed like that must have been exhausting! I am so amazed to see this pmw nonetheless!
It actually hurts that all this is human made (the extinction problem the best is our variety of life here and it's keep reducing thank U for the awareness I wish more people would be like you (also awesome creativity with the colors and the perspective s)
Beyond my 10+ years of being on the internet i never seen a AMV so heartbreaking yet beautiful im going to be honest. you did a great job showing all of these flora and fauna!! Good job!
I thought this was going to be about some fandom called Extinction and was like “huh, never heard of it” but it was abt actual extinction … ouch. i think the part with the tasmanian tiger hurt me physically (wonderful work though)
This is phenomenal, the colors are extremely well used and it is genuinely so disheartening to see the amount of animals who have gone extinct. Very thought provoking, well done!
I want to study zoology in the future, and this video just fueld my passion even more. Your art is so gorgeous and fits the music perfectly and I love how you showed so many species, taking in both natural extinction and extinction by humans. It’s moving, powerful, and most of all so so informative about all our planet’s gorgeous species, here today or not♥️
Got tears in my eyes and goosebumps across my body while watching this. Artist & zoology undergrad, in my fifth year, and it sometimes it feels like no one else cares like I do. But this, this was so beautifully done, and perfectly chilling. I enjoyed every second of it, and I know I'm going to be rewatching this many, many times.
first of all it is so impressive that you drew all those skeletons, holy cow. And 0:49 is such an impactful sequence! I really appreciate the inclusion of lesser-known and less charismatic taxa like the voles, bats, snakes freshwater fishes, plants and especially my beloved freshwater mussels and Masacrene giant tortoises - even if it makes me sad at how many I didn't recognize, and who's existences and disappearances have gone largely unknown to the wider world also, what is the full name of P. l. rodriquezi? It's the only one I couldn't find on my own
IM VERY BAD AT COMMENTS BUT THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! Gave me such chills, the colour palette is very pretty, and I love the song choice. And such sad and interesting subject matter. Amazing work! I hope it reaches more people!!🦋🌸 Edit: also woah you’re a Rain World fan!!! Rain World is one of my favourite games !! :D but I stay away from content about it because I haven’t finished two of the campaigns yet and don’t want spoilers ^_^" but that’s so cool !
I like that you only included animals and plants that went extinct because of humans. (Yes, the cat one counts because the cat was introduced to the island by the lighthouse operator)
This has almost nothing to do with the video, but I’m a paleotherian, and this almost made my cry. It’s really hard to explain but thank you so much for making this.
Your animation is so touching, with such a strong message of how important is to preserve our fauna and flora species... The details of the bones and the living creatures is amazing, your art inspired me a lot ❤️
I am in awe of the detailed and artistic effort that went into this. It is amazing -- we need constant reminders of the fragility of our planet and our own contributions to that.
this is so beautifully drawn, and so tragic .. all these species just Gone like that, all skeletons and preserves and nothing alive to play its part in this complicated world. u illustrated that perfectly with the progression and the colors and OUGHHHH youre a very good artist sry if this is aorded weirdly or anything im sick rn. but i wanted to say something to show my appreciation
Seeing this not long after making a poster myself on the Vaquita, this hits really hard because there’re like only 6-8 left and I don’t know if we’ll be able to save them, and in the relatively near future they might become part of something like this when someone’s talking about extinction/extinct animals :[
Oh so lovely!!!! Is the snake at the end a round island burrowing boa, by chance? (I've also got a extinction themed art project going on, so it's awesome to recognize several names! I'll be taking some inspiration from this lovely pmv!!)
i have no idea how i made it this long without realizing quaggas are extinct i grew up thinking they were still around i never really questioned why i never saw any jesus
i already commented the other day on how incredible this is, but i just thought to ask if i could do a pmv very similar to this one? like similar style of art along with the scientific names but different music and extinct species that werent mentioned in this video. i think itd be really cool to help spread awareness, especially if the videos can be related to each other but have each have different species! all with proper credit ofc. and if you aren’t comfortable with this idea, then thats perfectly fine!
Drawing all the skeletons must have hurt your hands. Looks really good
Thank you for acknowledging the extinct plants!!!! i rarely here people talk about stuff like that
This is full of so many creatures i love . i wish they were still here . humanity is always really cruel . its up to us doing research to make it better .
I love the thylacine more than anything
As humans, we can do better
No, the British are cruel, and sometimes the japaneese
Ngl I clicked on this video expecting ‘extinction’ to be the name of a fandom I wasn’t in, not literally animals that had gone extinct. This is fantastic regardless, and I am not in any way disappointed. Excellent work.
Same lol

In fairness it was like not even a day old then, now it’s over a day old and has over 3k views

Ye so they back! And there just like the movie lol
They're not! They're alive in captivity and are being released in the wild iirc?
@@CynicalEscapist some have already been released and as of now 5 chicks have hatched in the wild, but they are still classified as extinct in the wild for now despite this
This is awesome, i love the colors you used and i keep pausing to appreciate the art :]

Wonderfully made! I wonder how many more will be added to the extinction list within a decade? Makes you think.
Probably polar bears and multiple species of big cats.
i love it!!!! very nice work, always felt terrible about extinction and the consequences of it, so this really hit a spot in my heart. very beautiful :3

These are the works RUclips was founded on, exceptionally well done!

also, what is the full name of P. l. rodriquezi? It's the only one I couldn't find on my own
Podarcis lilfordi rodriquezi. It only lived on one small island in the bay of Mahon, and went extinct when the port was built.
The hourglass in the center symbolizes conservation and how the time for countless species is running out in the hands of the careless.
What a gorgeous PMV! They were such lovely animals, none of them deserved to die
This is awesome, currently working on homework but I'm absolutely researching every one of these organisms as soon as I can

Heck I’m surprised you mentioned bivalves and plants! This was really well made and I hope you do more animatics in this style.
I GOT SO EXCITED WHEN YOU SHOWED THE THYLACINE NOT VERY MANY PEOPLE KNOW IT’S AN EXTINCT MARSUPIAL!!!!!
This is an incredible video, from its concept to the raw talent. beautifully made
Woah. This is incredible. I hope you can take a break now after drawing all those skeletons 😅
Nonetheless this looks MAGNIFICENT ✨
Amazing and heartbreaking. I understand your wish to never draw a skeleton again, but they’re very beautiful
That aesthetic is so good looking and efficient, it has well done details in the bones. It's pretty cool
I'm really surprised this isn't more popular. Goddamn this is both beautiful and sad. We lost so many wonderful animals.
I like that you only included animals and plants that went extinct because of humans. (Yes, the cat one counts because the cat was introduced to the island by the lighthouse operator)
This is so heartbreaking. Thank you so much. It helped me become more aware as to some extinct species that even I did not know of.
People, they are like children - they do not realize anything, but at the same time they do.
This is gorgeous!! I mourn for all the species ill never get to see, those ill never see again. Man the zooming out at the end really hits.
This video is science/art/music nerd approved 👍
the wolf subspecies and thylacine hit me hard
oh my god. this is such an important pmv, phenomenal work!
This has almost nothing to do with the video, but I’m a paleotherian, and this almost made my cry. It’s really hard to explain but thank you so much for making this.
this is so cool, you did such a good job, this deserves so much more attention
Your animation is so touching, with such a strong message of how important is to preserve our fauna and flora species... The details of the bones and the living creatures is amazing, your art inspired me a lot ❤️
The amount of detail-, every biology teacher would've loved you for your work/pos
I am in awe of the detailed and artistic effort that went into this. It is amazing -- we need constant reminders of the fragility of our planet and our own contributions to that.
Chain of life going back billions of years and we get such power over it
wait this is insane???? how is it not more popular??
“Endling, extinction is forever.” - a game about the last mother fox on earth in a polluted and corrupt world. Sound familiar?
Very profound, great work. Conservation is so important. Your art is amazing!
this video is message that deserves to be heard. thank you so much for this💛💛!!!!
This is so beautiful. I could watch it over and over again. Ty for spreading awareness and making such gorgeous artwork.

This is one of the most beautiful PMVs I've ever seen. I'm in awe.

Incredible art and excellent song choice; makes me feel a lot of things

Incredible drawings
Very well synced up to the music too.
Wonderful job
I genuinely sobbed at the part with all the canids. Humans are doing them so dirty. I just wish people would stop shooting predator species.
Poignant and Beautiful. Well done.
