amazing Sunday night Bible Study for myself in Deuteronomy. Thank you for having so many Books of the Bible available at anytime for studying purposes here online. What a blessing to live in these times.
Alright here's a question for anyone who sees this: Is it "okay" that I legit got choked up at Moses begging God to let him enter Canaan with the people he'd spent the last 40 years shepherding as the instrument of God's power and love? I mean I cried a little bit. I really can FEEL the hurt Moses must have felt when God told him to go to the top of Pisgah and look around because he would not step foot in the land. I know that God always keeps his promises and this one is no different, and I understand that God doesn't change his mind, but I feel SO hurt for Moses. My heart just breaks thinking about how strong he would have had to be and how much love he had for God to give this entire speech knowing full well his part of the journey was done. Also, from earlier in the video.... it's wild to think that many of those Israelites were BORN and raised out there in the wilderness and that was all they knew. They didn't know what it was like to live in a city or go to a market or anything that people take for granted every single day. WOW. I'm awfully emotional. Maybe that's the Holy Spirit moving in me today. I'd like to think so. (New believer here so sometimes I can't tell.) As always, thanks for doing this Pastor Skip and Calvary Church @ Albuquerque. Y'all are amazing for putting this together and I will keep all of you in my prayers. God bless.
I really do feel the same for Moses. But God's word is true so he got the consequences. In the next book though, Moses will be there with Jesus Christ.
I too felt Moses got a “raw deal” when God forbade him to enter the promised land of Canaan. But then we must remember that this earth is God’s footstool and Heaven is His throne. So later on when Moses was “gathered to his people” on Mount Nebo he was instantly brought into God’s “promised land” that I can only imagine would have made the earthly promised land look like a junkyard! And also as Pastor Skip explained Moses did greatly misplease God at Meribah by disobeying Him, misrepresenting Him, and elevating himself when he said “Shall we bring water from the rock” …
( 20:13) My God man! Those words made me turn you off. Imposing verse on the situation in the Mideast is a shame! To which you have none. The suffering in part is on you! I know God forgives and I pray for you.
Thank you God for the gift of your word, and may you bless Pastor Skip for such clear teachings available to anyone through YT!
