Hi James, the reason I stress optimal strategy is because you will get much more play in the long run. In a short session like this anything can happen. But over an entire year for instance you will win much playing correctly. Also your bankroll will last much longer each time you go to the casino.

That was great! I hit a Royal Flush last year on a $1 Dollar denomination for $4000. I was so happy. That was my best win all year in 2016. I especially like the ones you can double down on after a winning hand, but those are hard to find these days. Love the video and hope you do more in the future. :)
I'll try to get more VP in the future, however it's hard for me to hold the camera if I'm playing so usually the only time I record any is when we are doing group play on it. :)

You have a 31% chance of a high pair with the AK and a 18% chance of a high pair with the suited A 10. Both the flush and royal flush probabilities are so negligible that they are not worth playing.

you sure had a vp pro there! he played two close calls by the book: the 2 to a royal vs 4 to a straight, and the 4 to a straight vs 3 to a strflush. very close calls played perfectly.
Generally double double bonus/triple double/triple triple bonus poker slots have four 2s,3s,4s pay more than 5s-kings. also generally getting 2 3 or 4 with a 2 3 4 or ace as the fifth card pays double. known as the kicker. Same for 4 aces. 4 aces with a 2 3 or 4 makes it worth alot more on these types.
You can tell I don't play VP. I had no idea 4 of a kind would be a hand pay! Even betting $5. And you got one twice! Maybe you need to switch to this game ... maybe I should too. lol
Aaron was the lucky person who got the two handpays for our group who was playing it with him. I did play some today, same VP machine and same game and no handpay for me. :(
in the more volatile vp games two pair pays same as jacks. in return you get paid on a variety of 4oaks at higher multiples. in triple double bonus, 3oak only pays 2:1 but four aces w kicker pays same as royal.

Was the pair vs keeping four to a straight (with no faces) correct?
you are right. pair of 7s is best play there. but all three reasonable holds here are very close. small pair, then str, then strfl. in dbldbl.
