    Cool build, great video and the mag base as a length indicator was genius!

      Thanks, it’s a big time saver and really allows you to make those cuts without worrying about something flying back at you because it piled up into the fence.

    Thanks for the video, I made one but it was too loose to stick together. I'll try again cutting the notches a bit smaller...

    Cool little puzzle. I'm not sure I would be able to stick it out! ha

      It's a fun build. It's also a very simple solution once you figure it out 😉

      Thanks Richard, they're super fun to build!
      If I'm feeling adventurous I'd like to build one where the parts are maybe round.

      It's been a while since I made these, but keeping them in the house they loosen up as they dry.
      but they're fun to look at.

    I made a couple of stars, guided by your video. Thanks! But my stars are a bit "loose" fitting. What can I do to tighten them up a bit without making it too difficult to put together?

    • @heyimamaker
      @heyimamaker  Год назад

      You might need to adjust the angle cuts a little bit. I made a few using some scrap pine before I went for it with walnut.
      And the stars I made years ago do expand and contract with the humidity so during the winter mine are a lot looser than in the summer.

    I made this structure with walnut wood.both dark wood and light wood.what coating and color did you use for it?
    Introduce paint and coating that preserves the original color

    how long and how wide were the strips of wood before you cut pyramids out of them?

    • @heyimamaker
      @heyimamaker  5 лет назад

      That’s a good question and I can get you the exact measurements from the one I made. But as long as you can fit your angles on the piece the size can be a bit flexible.

    It looks as simple as you saw the mitre cuts on the band saw.
    Do you know the Soma cube? It's easier to build, but has a lot of possible solutions.
    Have fun puzzling :)

    • @heyimamaker
      @heyimamaker  5 лет назад +1

      That's actually on my list of projects to build! And yeah, this puzzle is dead easy to build!

    • @FEINESausWUPPERTAL
      @FEINESausWUPPERTAL 5 лет назад

      @@heyimamaker And if you have built the Soma cube... there are several possibilities to balance it freely on the middle point.
      I have read that there should be 3 of these solutions. I could find 9 and documented them as videos :)
