There are few things that make me prouder than that boat landing. It's still considered the single largest water evacuation in history. So glad they caught this video!

You are all wrong. The largest rescue over the water occurred from January to April 1945, when about 800,000 to 2.5 million civilians had to flee from the Russian army across the Baltic Sea.
@@OpenGL4ever wbat i lole about operation Dynamo was that even though they where attacked time and time again, the civilians and navy fleet together had over 900 boats and ships that together saved almost 400.000 men. Even if they did it at great peril and with a loss of almost 240 ships. That's real heroism right there. There's so many amazing feat done by the britsh during WWII that no one talks about. Sometime the Americans even try and make it their thing. Like that war movie U 571 where its made to look like the Americans changed the turn of the war by getting their hands on a enigma machine. History will tell you the brits was the ones to do so in 1941 before the Americans had even entered the war. I understand why that would piss the English off.. 😔

There are so many hero stories from 9/11. True heroes everywhere, exactly when Americans needed a hero. We got thousands of them.
To this day I still get amazed at how fast those boats came together. Such an impressive display, people saving people. As it should be.
The entire idea was, the boats were already fueled, ready and heading for the harbor before the official call came over the radio.
People heard what happened over the radio or saw what happened on TV and were already mobilizing on their own, that's how it happened so fast. That radio call was an afterthought, like official permission to do what they were going to do anyway.
I Cried watching this. I was on the same plane that hit the Pentagon just the day before going to North Carolina. It always hits home when I see anything about 9/11. I knew nothing of the boat rescue, so seeing this really meant a lot. Thank you

@@jaredf6205 My mom and I was flying in from Portland Oregon. We had an unexpected flight change at Chicago Ill. That rerouted us to Newark International. Went on there to Raleigh-Durham International. When they told were the plane that hit the Pentagon, that was headed to Raleigh and around the same time we landed the day before. I check our flight stubs. It was the same United flight number.

I worked in Crystal City (Arlington) when the plane hit. It actually flew over the building I was working at before it flew over 395 and then slammed into the Pentagon. It was so close to Gateway 3, the whole building shook!
I was leaving NY 9 hours before it happened. I was on a plane back to Europe. It was a horrible event. I cannot imagine, how anyone could ever believe, that any god would ever want the people to commit such evil act.

Religion caused this attack, invoking the name of your particular flavor of invisible friend in the sky is in poor taste.
The world would be better off without religion, as said in their reaction “the only real religion is helping each other.”
To tie into this, you should show them about Gander, Newfoundland and how they helped 6000 people (basically doubling the population) that were stranded in that small town due to the attacks, and how profound it was that there was a broadway musical inspired because of it (Come From Away).
The John J Harvey, a retired New York fireboat took part in this ferrying people across. During one of her trips the fire department radioed her to ask if her pumps still worked. When the captain said they did the fire department told them to drop the passengers off and return to the seawall along side the other fireboats pumping water. She was reactivated under her original title Marine 1 and stayed on station pumping water for the firefighters till the water mains could be repaired

They know what happened, and it’s enough to know verbally. Seeing the attack is traumatic for many people, and could be too overwhelming for them. There’s also a lot of censorship on RUclips and seeing that much death in one video can get this vid demonetized.

They're always so compassionate. I think they should be shown video of what happened on 9/11, all of it. As hard as it may be for them to see the actual videos of that day show some powerful humanity and strangers helping strangers. It's also important for everyone in all countries to see the impact of terrorism.
You could show several move videos on 9/11 to show them just how devastating this terroir attack was. Show them both planes hitting the towers, the attack on the Pentagon and the fall of the towers. Don’t forget the passengers who sacrificed their own lives to crash the third plane, and show more rescues.

Very glad you showed this. Babu's words on religion say it all. Wonderful reactions. Every time I watch this, I start crying when the huge number of boats show up.
I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face as I watch this video...I live in Brooklyn, right across the river from where the towers attack happened, but was working in New Jersey at that time. There was absolutely no communications available, and I was not able to get home or call someone to look in on my cat. Luckily, my Mother, who's house is in NJ was able to house all the men employees over night & a female employee, who also lived in NJ, housed the ladies...A large Red Cross center is right down the street from where I live & after that first day, when I was able to travel again, I would see the workers from the sight coming down the train escalator covered in filth from working there, as I was on the up escalator heading home, all looking so very grim. It was a bit un-nerving seeing armed guards, in twos with rifles everywhere..on the streets and in the bus stations...as you can imagine, the smell was overpowering for a very long time...This has affected me very greatly & always will.......

I was working down on Delancy St. I ran up to the roof and had a bird's-eye view. It was horrific. I haven't remembered with such clarity for many, MANY, years. Through tears, I can say that watching this video has been very healing for me. I am reminded how, in the weeks, months, following this horrifying event, we were all much kinder to each other; strangers asking each other how they were doing, and really listening to the answer. I am reminded of the horror of that day, but I am also reminded of the beauty of the people, from EVERYWHERE, that came together to help. Heaven and hell.

20+ years later and were all over here tearing at each others throats. A shame that it takes a disaster to unite people when we can't unite for unities sake.
I think humanity has always been better about uniting against external issues than internal.
i honestly believe the only thing that will unite the world and bring peace amongst different nations and religions etc is if we discover hostile aliens who want to destroy us. a common enemy that threatens us all.
If you’re talking about Americans… it’s what Americans do. The country is built on disagreements and arguments, otherwise it’s called a dictatorship. Despite what the news and social media show you, they will still come together when needed and most people are good. I have plenty of friends who I don’t agree with on most and we love each other and have each other’s backs. I CAN fight with them, others absolutely not.
I remember that for a number of years afterwards there was a residual air of kindness and comradery in NY City that amazed everyone. But they got over it. 😒

Going with the whole 9/11 theme, you can show them the story of Gander, Newfoundland in Canada where they had to take in several airplanes of travelers that were on their way to the US
I emailed the city of Gander years ago to thank them and they actually emailed me back. I still appreciate what they did. Wonderful people.

I agree. There are incredible stories and images. Like many, I'll never forget where I was when it happened (at work in the UK), and I'll never forget those images of people falling through the air...
I'd visited the WTC a few years before, but a friend's sister visited it a day or two before it happened - that was close.
There is one video, I just before. It was a teenage boy with red bandana, who just rush in the building to help them lead the survivor out of there but he do help almost 11 survivor I think out of the building and after that he died shortly after. There also made a tribute on him by wearing red bandana to show respect on teenage who help the survivor and guide them out.
There are a lot of videos of what happened hour by hour, and that might be an educational thing for these gentlemen who admitted that they don't really know what went down that day. I was only 6 when it happened, and I can still remember the entire day. My family has lived around the capital for generations and my mother worked the day shift at the hospital that was closest to the Pentagon when it was struck. It took my father hours to be able to get a hold of her on the phone, and I just remember him pacing in our house as the news played calling anyone he could to get news.
Canada has the most multiculteral county in the world. People like these lovely men come here with their families every day. And i am proud that we do so. Bless these lovely gentlemen.
9/11 was the most tragic moment in our history and yet at the same time, our finest moment. Many people came to help stranger just because they needed it
Those boats saved so many lives that day, because so many people were saved from having prolonged exposure to the dust which has killed so many people in the intervening years. They were all true heroes because no-one knew what could happen next. I think there's some good videos about the NY Fire Department's role in saving people that day, at the cost of so many of their own lives. What they did that day to help the people in the WTC must be one of the bravest, most selfless things in history. One of the most incredible stories from that day was what happened in Stairwell B - the people trapped there were the only ones to survive the collapse of the towers.

Please show them the actual attack.. the events of that horrendous day. Americas volume went to 0.. it was a horrible time for us here in America. I'm from New York,but I was in Florida when it happened. My son lived In the buildings across from Manhattan. I was at work and had to run to the beauty salon a few stores down, where they had a tv so I can see for myself. I watched the second plane hit the tower.... I was devastated and extremely worried for my son. Again,please show them what happened that day.

I remember when it came on the news live, I couldnt believe a plane could hit the trade centre. Then then second came it was just before midnight in aus. I never slept that night watching every second live from aus. It truely shook me seeing it as it happen. God bless all the helpers

I remember watching this live on the tv at the time, it was the most shocking thing I’ve ever seen.
My dad was at ground zero a week after the attacks to conduct an investigation for the USDOT on how the buildings buckled under the extreme heat and how the impact from the planes damaged the buildings from an architectural standpoint.. he said there was still smoldering debris even after 8 days, the smell of gasoline and leaking hydraulic fluid.. live wires and jagged metal sticking up along the strewn piles of concrete, cinder block, and ash that piled up several meters high.. it’s nothing he’ll never forget he says.. rip to all the victims of that tragic and miserable day.. 🕊️🙏🏽 you’ll never be forgotten
These men are so very kind and caring. This video assumed everyone knew what 9/11 is about. Today, in 2023, young Americans don't even know what it's about. I wonder if they were told the whole story.
I read that at one point after the attack the search and rescue dogs got so sad and depressed because they were only pulling out dead pepole, that their handlers had to "bury themselve" so the dogs could find them alive a couple of times and have at least a bit of happiness that they were "rescuing" someone alive

They are basically like cavemen, they are about 100 years behind the technology so how would they know about this? They badly need a film that show the inventions of the western world, as they seem to think most stuff is from the 60s even though they see stuff that was a thing around 1880s or so.

Theu found it weird to see the 4-5 European cities from 1890 or so thay had stuff like trains and cars and so on. But the phone was a thing too. Bit they still go.. Maybe it's her mobile phone in a movie fom the 70's like The Exorcist they just watched. So now a mobile is a thing. But a bit later they go.. Wow a telephone is a thing in the 70's.? So having a mobile is fine in the 70's but having a landline is weird? There's clearly a HUGE lack of understanding of thr modern world and when it kicked in. All that stuff they talk about is basically what the industrial revolution was about. All that stuff was 19th century stuff. But when they talk its like everything is not older than 40-50 years or so. That's not really understanding the world. And you will never get the true understanding and enjoyment out of a video about appliances and vehicles if you don't know when all that started. Like how er went from steam and coal to cumbustion engines of today and the electric engines of tomorrow. It will just be one big miss mash without any context. But im not even sure that channel owner gets it. Having a reaction without true understanding is not really learning. Its a bit like how the Japanese learns English in school. Learn Hamlet by heart but no one knows what they're saying. What's the point of that?

Another plane was hijacked headed to Pentagon, which hit, and another that was taken over by the passengers and it crashed, but they succeeded in stopping the plane from hitting whatever target the terrorists had in mind. There are phone messages left from them, to their loved ones, knowing the plane was going down.*

I was actually in middle school when this happened. My grandfather was scheduled to be at the pentagon on 911 but there was traffic. Divine intervention in my opinion. We didn’t know he was safe for 3hrs. Worst 3hrs of my life.

Humans helping humans. I would help anyone regardless of their race or whatever, and I know people of another race or whatever would do the same for me. I think one of the greatest things we can do is help another human regardless of where they are from or color of skin. To the person you rescue, you are a hero, and that goes for anyone on earth.

Since they don't know much about what happened that day, you should find and show them exactly what happened with each plane crash.

Sarru was probably about a year or two younger than I was when it happened. It's almost 22 years now but I can never ever forget what had happened.... I was pulled out from school with my younger sister with our then baby brother at home with our mom. It was all over the news and... the one scene that never fails to make me feel sicker than sick is of an individual free falling from one of the towers. Geez I almost puke at the memory of it.
I never fully forgotten the fear. Neither have I fully forgotten what had happened a year later for the 2002 Winter Olympics. It felt like hope was rising again despite the battered flag from the towers displayed on full view.
Another great video to watch is about what’s called Operation Yellow Ribbon. A small Canadian town ended up being the emergency landing place for something like 50 planes bound for the U.S. on 9/11 and the entire town of only about 10,000 people came together to take people in and provide for them. It’s another amazing story of the best of humanity.❤
14:00 "Many people helped in many ways" - No truer words. Canada had a small town take in dozens of huge aircraft because the sky over the US was absolutely closed. The passengers on Flight 93 charged their captors rather than succumb to their fate, crashing their flight into a small field in Pennsylvania instead of a building full of people. Many of the dead were first responders: Firemen, Police, EMT's who were doing their best to save others. Even the .. i'm almost crying writing this... the scale of things created new stranger issues, like rescue dogs.. trained for years to find people in the wreckage of buildings... found so many bodies they got depressed and wouldn't move. Dogs. Firemen and police had to dress up as bodies and sit in the rubble so the dogs would find living people to keep the dogs moving but even then, the toll was deep on everyone.
Thanks for sharing. They should watch the actual attack. There are videos called as it happened and events unfold, and MrBallen inside the twin towers. It gives a perspective of a survivor and what was happening. On the inside of the towers, when the planes hit. They should understand the true horrors of that day. I was a teenager at the time. This is instilled in my brain. And it won't ever go away.
This gives me flashbacks from reading the Timeriders book series, where this dreadful day is relived over and over again. However IRL, I remember when all of this happened, I just got back from school here in Europe and it was morning in the US. My mom and dad were fixated on the television and the severity of the situation slowly grew on me.

There are many different stories. This was one of them. There was the story of flight 93. As well as the one focusing on the main attack.

Any American alive then can tell you where we were on 9/11. That day stunned the entire country and ended an age of innocence. Since then things have never been the same but there are still moments where we come together for causes great and small. Those moments showcase the best in us, even if others try to make that light extinguish.
I’m a Scot. I know where I was on that day. Edinburgh, celebrating my birthday. We saw and smiled with so many happy Americans that day. That’s what stays with me. We returned home and put on the telly as we always did and just sat there, shocked. I remember younger daughter coming in but of anything else, it’s a blank. I saw a dark skinned lass leaning from a window and she so reminded me of my best friend, that I ached for that lass. And for the Americans we’d seen enjoying the sunshine through in Edinburgh. I could only imagine their anguish at flights cancelled and worry over loved ones whether in the towers or not. Bless them all.

I still remember watching those planes hit the towers on live tv at age 14, I tried skipping school but after seeing it on tv I went to school to see what was happening because I thought it was a big event and everyone was in shock. They had the news on all day in every class early. I knew the usa would change after that and it did though not in all good ways. It's does have greatly increased defense, especially against terrorist attacks such as this. Everyone over 30 holds that day in their heart.
