Glad it helped! You could consider using an INBDE material to help with clinical sciences, since both ADAT clinical sciences and INBDE have case-based and rote memorization questions on clinical sciences. Feel free to check out my INBDE video :)
Hello Lexi, thank you so much for the guidance video. I was really struggling with biomed section. I just highlighted the section in the book that they mentioned in the video. Do you think it is enough for the exam? Thanks again
Hi i just found out your channel and this is what i was looking for a guidence about what to do. if I wanna get the NBDE Part 1 book should i get mosby or first aids?
I recommend the book by B&B Dental for NBDE Part 1! I tried First Aid, but I liked the B&B Dental book more - much easier to follow and faster to study. You can use my code to save money on it, and it includes flashcards and videos too! Highly recommend.
i recently took the exam and got ADAT overall 82 % . i must say the exam is tough especially in the biostatistics portion in which they added topics like dental insurance , medicare , even some difficult questions regarding confidence interval .
@@Singh-lc2kx Hey! So for biostatistics I had 0 background knowledge and did well using just the videos that I have listed at the end of this video and also using ADAT KO for biostatistics practice questions. This is what I would recommend. I watched all the videos first and took notes and studied those notes, then I did all the ADAT KO practice questions for biostats.
Hello dear thank you so much for this video. It is amazing... but i cant see the link of video for biostatistics. Could you please help me?you just add link for B&B
Hey thanks for watching! The videos are there, just they are in the description underneath the video. So if you click "more" under the description, you will see the list of 21 videos with links :)
Hi! Can you please recommend which book to go for: First Aid, Kaplans or Mosby for Biomedical Sciences if I didn't want to go for B&B? And is Dental Decks worth it for Clinical Sciences? Thanks!
Hi, that is a great question and maybe others could comment. I honestly have never seen Kaplan's or Mosby's, though I have heard of them of course. Maybe others can comment on those. First Aid is very dense, and I did think it covers biomedical sciences well, but B&B Dental is much easier to comprehend and better laid out in my opinion. I did not use Dental Decks so I cannot really comment on them either. Best of luck on your exam!
I would love to see a video on applying to Endo residency and the timeline for students in all stages of dental Schoo, career, etc..... Awesome video by the way.
Thanks lexi but for microbiology the past dental exam serial its not free in youtube...and its not completely..for example : staphylococcus is 8 min but for free just you can see 4min of that..are you buy it ?I don't know now what should I do..
Are you referring to Pass The Dental Boards' videos? I did not pay for anything. If now it's not free, I would use the microbiology section in B&B Dental's book to prepare.
Thank you so much Lexi for such a helpful information :) I just purchased an access to B&B dental and it was amazing! However, I couldn't find neither systemic disease nor histology topic. Are they in any other main topics? Thank you very much
Hmm that is strange. Chapter 3 should be "Histology", Chapter 4 "Oral Histology", and Chapter 12 "Systemic Disease". Feel free to DM me on Orgo Buddy Facebook, and we can look into it further (facebook.com/OrgoBuddy).
hello. after purchasing the subscription I am unable to find or download the b and b part 1 textbook which is mentioned in your video. I used your promo code as well. Could you help me with this? I have emailed their support but I have not gotten any response.
Hey! Sorry you are having this issue. Please email Kayla at kayla@bandbdental.com, and she can help you find them :) Please let me know if you still have issues.
Hey! I used the B&B book and associated videos for systemic pathology - love how the book/videos break down each disease with the main points to know for each one and little stories in the videos to help you remember some of them! Then I learned from ADAT KO after first building a foundation with B&B. Hope that helps! :)
I did not study any gross anatomy of the body, only head and neck anatomy. And for my ADAT exam, they did not test gross anatomy of the rest of the body.
Hi! I only would study head and neck anatomy for this exam. For physiology systems (i.e. nervous system, musculoskeletal system, etc), I think B&B Dental broke it down in a very focused and easy to understand way. Same with their section for systemic diseases, focused on the highlights. I drew pictures to help me remember concepts or tried to come up with a funny phrase to remember certain diseases. Talking it out loud also helped me a lot. But I really think B&B Dental's book was amazing for me personally for biomedical sciences.
Hi, thank you. This is very helpful information. If you don’t mind, each day included how many hours of study? I am working full time so I wanted to estimate accordingly. Thanks in advance
Hi! It does vary person-to-person, but I would say somewhere between 3-5 hours on average daily, but maybe try to allocate 4 hours and you should be ok. Best of luck!
I have access to boards and beyond through my dental school, but I'm struggling to know which videos to watch just based on the broad content headers provided by the adat. are there any more specific topics that are out there for what subjects are on the exam? because definitely the entirety of boards and beyond and first aid seem overkill. I go to a dental school that combines med/dental so im really confused how in depth the exam goes
Hey Jessica! Hopefully someone else can chime in if they have any thoughts on your question. I think First Aid is more dense than B&B Dental. I only read a chapter of First Aid and then never opened it again. Unfortunately, the ADAT really is just a broad exam in terms of what topics it covers and the depth of the questions - quite *literally* you can get something as simple as V3 innervating muscles of mastication to the role of Warfarin in gamma carboxylase inhibition. So I think (almost) all of the topics in B&B Dental are relevant and worth reviewing. It is hard to predict what will get thrown at you. Like I mentioned, I spent less time on neuroscience/microbiology because I knew I did not have time to learn these well enough to correctly answer more questions. You could choose to omit an additional topic or two if you feel you don't have enough time (maybe immunology or embryology). Ideally you cover as many topics as you can though. Best of luck studying!
You made the notes from bootcamp as you mentioned in the video....so you made notes for ADAT KO also or you just read the KO's notes and explanations only?
Mostly just read the explanations but also had some pieces of printer paper where I would make short notes like acronyms to remember stuff or two words I wanted to associate with one another like maybe a hormone and where it is released from, things like that, just basically quick facts I was trying to memorize
hi Lexi i just purchased the b&b dental advantage plan to study for ADAT but i cannot find the nbde part 1 digital book can u pls tell me where i can find the link to the book? also i don't see head and neck anatomy subject in neither the videos nor the flash cards where can i find those too? thank you!

It may depend on the program but according to University of Toronto's website today it says, "You must have taken the ADAT exam within three years before submitting your application." SO I would think you can still use your scores for next cycle, but I would always check with each program.

I am preparing for ADAT and I will start posting on the material on my channel.
Thank you so much Lexi! Very informational video! Really appreciate it 😊😊
Thanks! Good luck on the ADAT :)
Thank you :)
There’s so little information about ADAT preparation out there. Please post more ADAT related content :)
