Great video and update, how much whp are you thinking these DCT trans can handle before clutches slip with your pressures increased? Were the cluthes slipping on e85 with stock pressures? I plan to get this e85/trans tune right after bike week
The clutches are just starting to slip at the 110 and E85 tunes - but only a little and just on the hit. We add just a little pressure on these tunes which eliminates this. Our thinking is the stock clutches will be good for 400 whp before we run out of pressure and friction. But we already have a solution for beyond that :)
You said it’s not the best dune car stock. How does it compare to the 22 Maverick x3 x DS turbo rr? In the dunes the x3 moved pretty well. I thought this was supposed to be a lot better?
For fun factor, the 22 X3 power delivery is superior over a stock tuned Maverick R. The suspension is far better on the Maverick R, but due to the power to weight ratio and the inherent disadvantages of a geared transmission, the X3 is a better dune car. Obviously there are advantages to the Mav R - you can run as hard as you want without worrying about belts and all of the cool new features. The Mav R on E85 or our higher octane tunes and transmission tuning - there has never been a more fun SXS - it completely transforms it into one of the best dune cars ever.
I just discovered this thing today and immediately thought “that would be a good donor for my old mini project” but am I understanding this right? It’s a 7 speed DCT but only shifts like an auto? There’s no ability for driver control over gear changes?
Is anyone doing big hore kits and or full builds yet on this say head work trans work ect ect but stock casings??? Big turbo big injector how does this compare to 600hp plus packard builds cmon there has to be ways yamaha does good at power makers

You can control the gear changes via the flappy paddles, if you can keep up😉
