- We are on a spontaneous visit to see what could potentially be our new home today! It's all very exciting and last minute but it feels right in our hearts, and sometimes in life you have to follow your heart! We go back to a country we love dearly and have mixed feelings about coming back because it was so good last time we don't want to spoil it! If you're new here, we're Tom and Iz, a couple who have been living in a van for the last three years. We've explored Spain, Portugal, Scotland, Ireland, Norway, Romania and the UK in our little home on wheels, our Ford transit van named La Bamba. It is most likely completely unauthorized development, coupled with scaring of the landscape. If it is in a Special Area of Conservation S.A.C. it could lead to very expensive court proceedings.

Hi Guys. Many congratulations on the upcoming move. Looks fantastic. I’ve been catching up on older videos and have just seen your Mayo/Galway one. Crazy to see some very familiar places. My family are from Carrowniskey (which, yes, you mispronounced!) and my Uncle still lives there. You fed one of his cows next to the beach in the video! We are lucky enough to have a holiday home nearby, just past Killeen church, between Carrowniskey and the Silver Strand (which you also visited). You did justice to an amazing part of the world. I’ve been watching you guys for a while now, plus I went back and watched a load of your previous videos, but I’m not sure if I’ve commented here before. I can’t wait to see the next chapter of your journey.
I also had to comment to say that it seems everyone’s going to Ireland. Another RUclips vanlife couple that I watch just announced they are heading to Ireland travelling this summer and I myself have just begun a trip around the coastline of the British Isles (I’m currently in Scotland after doing the North East) and am heading to Ireland myself.

Enjoy the new chapter along your journey, an amazing oportunity for you to try something new. My wife and I really wanted to move to Ireland 18 years ago, but never managed to make the final step due to unforseen circumstances. We still hold onto hope that someday we will be able to make it happen

30 years ago we came on our own adventure here for much the same reasons. 4 kids, 4(+2) grandkids and our little homestead later and we are still here and loving it. You will love it here, we could see from your Ireland vids how much it had grown on you here, and you seemed to genuinely loving it here. As you now have your base you can maybe discover more of Ireland inland, as there is just so much more here that just the coasts. Best of luck again on your move 'home' as Tom did say it felt like coming home.
That's actually a great point Killian, there are so many coastal roads that steal people's Heart, but I bet there is so much beauty inland we miss out on. Any must see recommendations?

When buying property, check the big variables. So, in a city, check the noise at other times of day than when you would view the property and during the weekend. On the land, check the weather during seasons. My family used to stay at a place in the Austrian Alps. In early spring, parts of the shadowy side of the valley were essentially like a vertical river. At least ask a local you can trust.
I knew it would be Ireland....you guys seemed to connect with the place and the people. You had more interractions with people there than any other country I think. Delighted for you both and welome to the parish!!!!
