When we initially booked our 1st cruise on Royal Caribbean, we weren't very enthused about going to CoCo Cay. We couldn't believe it would be much fun and thought it was being hyped up. BOY WERE WE WRONG!! CoCo Cay is AMAZING! I joked with my husband that they could just do an all CoCo Cay itinerary and call it Every Day at CoCo Cay. Can't wait to go back!
It's a damn shame that they don't offer Perfect Day for their 9-11 day cruises because I *really* want to go but 7 days is just too short. Every time I go on a 7-day, I'm left wanting more. I've always dreamed of just booking back-to-back cruises, like a 7 day + 3 day, but I don't know how logistically feasible that is.
I've watched a few of your videos now and the commentary is just awesome. I really like your "tour" style and helpful, energetic commentary. As a newbie to cruising, these videos make me feel more relaxed about booking my first cruise. Thank you.
Did you get up the nerve to book your trip yet? Don't be afraid to call a travel agent to discuss your concerns. There is no cost to have a conversation and they don't charge anything above the cruise line's price if they do help you book your trip.
Matt, you've convinced me that the cruise and itinerary that we just booked was worth it. You're video has helped me immensely in my decision making -- where and what to do and see on Perfect Day!! So, thank you!!
Thanks for this video. My parents, husband & I are going in two weeks & I was trying to see what was included, without booking excursions & I love that this is all complimentary. I am so excited now.
Thank you Royal Caribbean for having these up-to-date tour vids. My husband booked our cruise and is taking care of all the planning, but my medical level anxiety has be nerves up about the amenities and such. I dont like surprises and can't be far from facilities sometimes. I was also concerned that the food and drink packages would be nothing but cheap burgers and fries that I can't eat. But RC seems to have thought about everything for everyone; young, old, special needs and so on! There is even a non alcoholic facy drink package since I cant have alcohol! How cool is that! This will be my first cruise and my first big outing outside of home, family emergencies, and work since 2020. These vids have helped me go from a nervous wreck to actually being excited about being out in public again. I am really hoping to enjoy my first cruise coming up because from the adverts and the tours this seems to be my kind of vacation!
It's a really fun walk from the ship to Coco. The anticipation of what you will do all day and it's a GREAT walk back. Especially if you're hammered. Had a total BLAST there !! Absolutely love the Royal blog videos. Thank you
You should have everything comped at Royal Caribbean if you don’t already- you give a better sales pitch than anything they do or anything other cruise lines do as well. Royal doesn’t even fit my vibe the most but your videos are so detailed and positive- it makes me feel most secure to go Royal.
I've only been on one cruise before, December 2012 on Freedom Of The Seas. Though it was the pre-renovated version of the island, this was one of our stops, along with St. Thomas and St. Maarten. It was the greatest week of my life and ever since then, I've wanted nothing more than to go back. Since recently coming across this channel, I have been living my cruise life vicariously through you, Matt. Thanks for all the content!
I've watched many YT tours of Perfect Day, but this was really helpful and well done! I appreciated the map markers in correlation to the different areas. Definitely feel confident and excited for visiting in April on my solo cruise on Wonder! Thanks for all you do Matt!
This is the most informative video I've seen so far about what there is to do at CocoCay, and its a LOT more than I was expecting! Hoping to go there on a cruise in early '22.
My husband and I sailed on Freedomnof the Seas for a family reunion back in 2005. It was our very first cruise and right after Royal Caribbean acquired Coco Cay. There was barely anything on the island…a couple of drink stand, picnic tables and grills. To see it come to fruition like this is amazing! I look forward to returning there soon.
What a TERRIFIC video! I really feel like I've already been there or at least that I could arrive and know exactly where I want to go and what I want to do!! You've REALLY whetted my appetite!!! Great job, Matt! Very thorough!
Chill island and the lagoon area would be where I’d spend most of my time. I’m looking forward to checking it out when I cruise Royal for the first time!
Ww just returned. I wasnt too sure about the island before going, i usually dont like contrived situations like this or theme parks. Having said that, i loved it. Didnt spend a dime extra, ate and drank and explored while also relaxing in the January sun. My wife and I agreed, we could spend several days easily without getting bored with it. Very well done.

We just got back from a cruise on the Adventure which had 2 days at Coco Cay, we did both sides and I got to say they were both great. We had great weather both days and due to reduced capacity the thrill park was empty, basically just went up the stairs and down the slides with out waiting.
I wish that I had the chance to watch this video before going to Coco Cay last month. We only spent our time at Chill Island and did some kayaking. I had no idea that there's tons of other stuff to do. Well, I just booked our next Royal Cruise, so see you soon Coco Cay! Thanks for the video!
I can’t WAIT!! I’m taking my 20 year old son on his very first cruise. Was disappointed to think we were going to go to here. But after watching your video I’m thinking we lucked out. YAY!! I’m so excited!!
This looks like a lot of fun. Especially nice that the food is free and you do have options. Planning a possible cruise later this year with family, so I will definitely suggest RC as an option. Took my first RC cruise out of Los Angeles this past December and it was great.
Thank you for this review. Trying to decide between Royal Caribbean going to CocoCay vs. Disney going to CastawayCay, so I especially appreciate seeing what they have for children, especially young children (under 10).
I was just there in September, and I loved it! I saw the beach, but stayed in the Oasis Lagoon. I couldn't bear to leave it - it was the most awesome pool I've ever been in! Going back in February with my husband for an anniversary cruise and I can't wait! Thanks for this video. Since I loved the pool so much I never explored the rest of the island. :) I love your videos!!! Thanks for sharing all of the RC information with us.
It changed so much since I was there back in 2014....we still had a taxi boat take us to and from the island at designated times. It sure was lovely but this is the upgrade the island needed.
OH, now THIS is the tour I’ve been looking for - the only time I almost stopped at the NCL private island, it got cancelled due to swell, so it’s great that they’ve built a full size dock here to get the massive ships in. Great to watch this - thanks very much for sharing!
Nicely done, Matt! This brings so many memories... went there for the first time last week on Oasis of the Seas and had a BLAST!! Can't wait to go back and experience more!!!

I was on this island in 98 and it didnt have much at all, but was a very beautiful place...i was on the cruise ship Sovereign of the Seas. I had a really dam good time on that ship
Booked on RC in September 2022 for our anniversary. Love this video, very helpful. Just wondering how crowded we should expect the areas to be. Will we have trouble getting beach chairs? Is renting a beach bed necessary?
We were just there last week. Two ships were docked and we were probably both about 80% full. Had no issues getting chairs at the cove and eating. The kids splash area gets a bit crowded but overall there's definitely enough room for everyone
Thanks for a great tour! We will be visiting Perfect Day in less than 3 weeks, so it’s good to get a preview of the area. Will have to try the “secret sandwich”!
And apparently if you call it a secret sandwich the staff just look at you like you're nuts. Who knows what they will hand you and what it's got on it. lol

I am getting more and more excited about our December oasis cruise. We booked the floating cabana and bought thrill Waterpark park passes for our oldest child. Thank you for the walk through because I didn’t know they had hammocks at the beach club beach side cabanas.
I purchased a tropical theme blouse there. It has held up well after 3 years. I bought more when I went back. I bought t-shirts in Nassau many years ago and they were garbage. So products have greatly improved.

Very good tour of Coco Cay, we were there a long time ago, prior to the water parks opening. My only request would be that you give the cost of the Cabanas, beach club and water park, even though I know the prices vary by season of the year, at least it would give us an idea of the cost to expect. Instead of just saying it's expensive. Thanks.
It amazing your videos just finished watching Odyssey of the seas one and now this. Thank you, it makes it easy to know in advance where to head to and btw after watching the ship video I decided to book back to back 😂
Oh wow! I went there in 2013 on the Freedom of the Seas and it was basically just the chill side. The most thrilling thing they had was an inflatable slide and obstacle course floating just off the beach. Looking forward to going back one day. Next on the list, though, is Alaska.
Matt, you are my favorite blogger. You do a fantastic job. I am looking forward to my trip on Wonder of the Seas, especially today when it is -12 degrees in Northern Illinois.
I was here just last month on an Eastern Caribbean itinerary on the Harmony. We were the only ship docked that day, so it was a very pleasant experience. Hearing the "Perfect Day" song come over the hallway loud speakers right as we're docking at the island triggered excitement, and is the signal that you're in for a very special day indeed. RCCL is a very special brand, and the guest experience they provide at Coco Cay is exceptional. There were so few people on the island that day, so it felt like you had the place all to yourself. I've heard if there's more than one ship docked at the island, it will be *packed* with people, and it's not so enjoyable. There were so many places to enjoy and relax on the island as you roamed around. The food offered on Coco Cay was absolutely spot-on delicious. I wish I could say the same for the food on the ship. It was... well... it was awful, to be honest. Royal Caribbean's overall on-ship food scene has declined substantially in terms of what's offered. The food is just not special anymore. Because of that I've decided to switch cruise lines, which pains me, because I love Royal Caribbean as a brand. The Coco Cay experience seems like such a natural addition to the brand. Being at Coco Cay truly made it a *Perfect Day.*
@@lisamartz4830 It was very nice as usual. This time we only went to the Beach Club. I didn’t think that the lunch was that great but the staff is remarkably welcoming. Next time I want to use the pool that has the swim up bar. There was only one ship at the island so it wasn’t crowded at all. We had a very relaxing day. 😊
@@lisamartz4830 I don’t think that I would spend the extra money for that again. I only need a lounge chair under an umbrella to make my day. I’m too old to climb all those stairs for the slides as well. I did the zip line a couple of years ago and that was way too strenuous. (I turn 74 tomorrow and because of smoking, the stairs are tough). 🥴 I will do the jet skies though. I hope that this helps . 😊
Perfect Day at CocoCay looks amazing, Matt, but I do have a couple questions for you. It's great that most food and drinks are included with your cruise drink package, but is there a way to know at which venues? Are there signs to let you know if there will be an extra charge? Also, are there plenty of public restrooms around the island, or will you have to walk far to find one throughout the day?

Oh wow! I went there in 2013 on the Freedom of the Seas and it was basically just the chill side. The most thrilling thing they had was an inflatable slide and obstacle course floating just off the beach. Looking forward to going back one day. Next on the list, though, is Alaska.
so you’re saying you want to edate?
@@FREEMASONKILL3R edate?
Great review! thks, calm delivery of comments thks.

Can't wait. This video is exactly what I needed. Headed out on FREEDOM soon! Thank you so much for this video. 💗
Glad it was helpful!
It looks like a place where you can have a perfect day.
Hence the name
Matt, you are my favorite blogger. You do a fantastic job. I am looking forward to my trip on Wonder of the Seas, especially today when it is -12 degrees in Northern Illinois.
Thanks so much
We were there in Oct 2021. It is our favorite place on earth. We book cruises just to go there !!
Yes, me and my family are going and I just can't wait
When I was a crew member working on majesty of the seas it wasn’t so nice look at coco cay now so beautiful
RC destroyed it, looks like an Orlando waterpark :-(
Enjoyed your video. Will be there in April on Wonder of the seas.
This year I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise on Liberty of The Seas and let me tell you, I had a perfect day at Coco Cay
I’m ready to go. And very excited too!!!
Going in November.....bucket list items. 1 take a cruise 2 trip with my baby cousin....
Going here in a month omg this looks amazing
Which cruise line are you going to switch to ?
The food on my cruise was great!
Nice job; we are going there again in a couple of weeks. Thanks, Mat.
Can you give us an update? How was it?
@@lisamartz4830 It was very nice as usual. This time we only went to the Beach Club. I didn’t think that the lunch was that great but the staff is remarkably welcoming. Next time I want to use the pool that has the swim up bar. There was only one ship at the island so it wasn’t crowded at all. We had a very relaxing day. 😊
@@janetbeans6472 Thank you for your response. Do you feel the add'l money you paid for the Beach Club was worth it?
@@lisamartz4830 I don’t think that I would spend the extra money for that again. I only need a lounge chair under an umbrella to make my day. I’m too old to climb all those stairs for the slides as well. I did the zip line a couple of years ago and that was way too strenuous. (I turn 74 tomorrow and because of smoking, the stairs are tough). 🥴
I will do the jet skies though. I hope that this helps . 😊
@@lisamartz4830 not really
I love lazy rivers. I wish they had one of those!
We're coming here when my and the fam go on the Independence of the Seas, Thanks for all the key details Matt!
When you go to coco kay do you pay for the food or is it included in the cruise price?
It’s included
Going in a month on the Freedom. Really excited!
We are going again on the 24th. We are going on the Freedom for the first time. 😊
Ill be going on the Freedom in Dec. Can't wait!😁
just came from there. worth it
Perfect Day at CocoCay looks amazing, Matt, but I do have a couple questions for you. It's great that most food and drinks are included with your cruise drink package, but is there a way to know at which venues? Are there signs to let you know if there will be an extra charge? Also, are there plenty of public restrooms around the island, or will you have to walk far to find one throughout the day?
Is you can remember, what time did you debark from the shop to CocoCay because the crowd is heavenly?
Holy crap. I went there in 1999 and it was literally nothing but a beach. I don’t even know what made it pop into my head and look it up.
