Noooo I’m from Colorado and the great thing there and in Wyoming is that it cools down at night because it’s such a dry climate. Try San Antonio, Texas, or a place like that - extremely hot in the summer, and zero relief at night because the temperature does not fluctuate much with the humidity.
Hi Ron and Everyone. That is a great story. Lots of history there. I was happy you got us on the inside for the tour. Loved it and I thank you Ron for the walk about. Awesome 👍👍
The whole place resonates with the past. They should do a book about the prison museum for people who are interested but unlikely to be able to visit. So many teasers. ❤ from UK Thanks Ron ❤
@@suehurrell134 they did a movie there about an inmate that was executed then came back to haunt the warden and stuff. Sorry I can't remember the name of the movie. It was a long, long time ago. But they did film parts of it at that old territorial prison
I’m loving these episodes. I grew up in Cheyenne. Have since moved to north east to be close to family. But I think of my early days in Wyoming with fondness. I loved my time there. Thanks mr. Ron for videos of my old stomping ground. God bless.
My family homesteaded in Carbon County when Wyoming was still a territory. Though I no longer live their I’m still part owner in the family ranch, which is on its sixth generation.
I'm born and raised in Utah, had an uncle who was the sheriff in kemmer , sorry for spelling. We visited him and took family vacations in the Tetons, Jacksonhole and was always my favorite way to Yellowstone. I'd love to retire there in a few years, gorgeous state
Shades of “The Green Mile” went across me! Totally a place to visit! If ghosts were anyplace, it’d be there! So great Ron! And a very nice lady- thank you!
Oh my yes that is so spooky 😲 Thank you, Ron, and thanks to the nice young lady for allowing us to see this. It's sad to, but if you do the crime, you have to do the time. Seeing the cafeteria area with all those tables, I wonder if they had assigned seats 😔 Ron take care now, be blessed and safe. You truly are one of a kind. You are loved and appreciated ❤️🤗
Wow, I'd love to visit there but know I never will. Thanks Ron for taking us there and other places I'll never be able to see. You always make it feel like we're right there with you. Really appreciate it.
Ron, there’s no wonder you felt so many different ways while walking through there. If any old prison in the world could be haunted…I’d vote this one into the top 10 ! (Your guide reminded me of a substitute teacher I had one day way back in 6th grade & that’s all I’ll say😉) Wyoming sure is a beautiful place, Ron. Stay safe! 💛
Been to a few: Kilmanhaim Gaol in Ireland (think I got that right), and Camp Vught, a Nazi concentration camp. They definitely have a creepy vibe… I’ve stood where gallows were built to hang Irish criminals and stood in a field where the Nazis lined children up to shoot, and it’s something you can never forget.
Eek! My claustrophobia is hurting! Fascinating. Knowing these were the baddest baddies, yet have to wonder how many innocents were railroaded into that place. Did they also have a women’s section? Many thanks for dragging us along!😊
Ron, a fascinating necessity of life. I have no pity for those incarcerated there. Enjoyed this and would like to visit. Thank you for sharing. Blessings from Michigan.
The sounds were absent today during Ron's walk thru but I felt I could hear inmates' arguments, men weeping in the death house, spoons scraping against those slop trays and smell the dinner they got served.
I live in Wyoming and have my whole life. Don’t get to Rawlins much though. Up until just a couple of years ago they used to have tours of that prison on Halloween night. Pretty darn creepy!
I think of how prisons were then, and how they are now! So different, the prisons today are more like institutions then prisons. Back then it so much more bleak and depressing.
That was a fascinating prison. Would be well worth the tour. I can't imagine the cells so small. A very big guy would hardly fit. Thank you for the video, Ron.
What an ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING place!! It still has a VERY sad and heavy atmosphere!! Thanks for sharing this with us, Ron!! Thanks to Tina too!! XXXX 💗🤗👍❤
Prisons, jails, and detention centers are places I can never get used to. I hate those places! Though I've worked in prisons through church ministry and visiting relatives I still never got used to them. Ron this video was another one of your masterpieces; well done and keep 'em comin'.
That prison is definitely haunted. They give tours. On Halloween they give a tour that's pretty good. In the summer they let you spend the night. Depending on whether you want to be the Warden or trusty or inmate they charge different prices. When you arrive they serve you dinner before they lock you down. The new state prison is also in Rawlins. They used to sell the things the inmates made like leather purses, belts, wallets and more. It's a great experience
That was great Ron! Lived in Wyoming my whole life and have never toured the prison. It’s just so creepy and depressing. I prefer the scenic beauty Wyoming has to offer. Up around Cody is beautiful. I hope you enjoy it. Great job on showing what the prison is like. Wow
An amazing tour Ron, thanks for taking us there. Certainly glad it is historical preserved 🙋♂️🐈🐈 Went onto the website, There’s some more interesting links on the prison website, stories of individual’s crimes and history.
There's an old prison that still has bits of its original parts that'll not be around much longer in Clarksville Indiana. It had been turned into a Colgate industry building which closed down and is on the verge of being remodeled. It's massive and has one of if not the largest clocks in the US.
I've passed through Rawlings many many times but only exited I 80 to get gas. My father in law grew up here in the 40's and 50's. Next time I will stay a while and see the sights. Thanks for the mini tour. Well done
I love your videos so much. Each adventure each story is just amazing. I love learning about history of things. It's better then hearing the same old stories told on different tv shows.
Great episode, Ron! I like to think that the death row deaths had a part in their tombstone, maybe even had to make it. I hope you go back and do the whole tour. I will never get to see it if you don't. :-) You were like a kid in a candy store! Emmy award worthy!

In some ways I felt sympathy for these inmates, but then I felt like I wouldn't want them out free. It's just sad that there is so much hate in the world. Great walk through video. Thank you.
Given the horrendous economic inflation brought on by Brandon’s Regime why would they want to escape? They’re getting relatively free room and board and can continue to run their businesses on the outside.
Wow, who would want to be to put in one of those rooms .If some of those men would see this beforehand, I wonder if they would rethink what they were planning. Thank you for the tour. Amazing.

It’s hard to imagine people adapting to prison life, but they do. I watched a video of John Wayne Gacy, and he actually thrived in the environment. This was incredible. I love stories like this ( what's wrong with me??). All I can say is for anyone who ended up in this prison for even a day and then ended up here again, then they deserved to be here because they had to be out of their mind. This place would scare me right into going to church on a daily basis. If those stones were handmade, I wonder if the prisoners made their own headstones, too. I wonder why there's such a variety of them. Maybe the families were able to add things like the crosses? One stone looked like it had a beautiful wooden cross that still looked in good shape from a distance. I wonder if there were any innocent men put to death here. That would be really sad.
