Thanks very much for the video. Very interesting. I was not aware of the MIT App Inventor site. I had considered using an Android phone instead of buying a larger Nextion display. I installed Android Studio but found it too complicated and confusing. I may try the MIT App Inventor. My application is to control a stepper motor to make an electronic indexer for my wood lathe. I was able to create the Nextion display code thanks to some of your other videos. I do prefer your method to avoid the Nextion library. Dave.
There is so much fun stuff out there it is hard to keep it all straight. I had forgotten about the MIT site until I ran across the app I made in 2018 and wondered what it was. I figured if I made a video it would help me remember. I also love woodworking. I am currently making a comic book cabinet for my daughter. For the top I am making the Wonder Woman symbol or logo or whatever you call it out of individual oak pieces joined together. I have never done anything with a lathe. I am trying to finish up a simple 1000mm square CNC machine but I would probably not use an app to control it. I would worry about lost Bluetooth connection leading to a catastrophic issue. I hope you let me know if you get the indexer working and thanks for watching. Mark
If you ever need something turned for a project, just let me know. I have the electronic stepper working using Nextion and Arduino Mega2560. I will send an email with some pictures. FYI, Yuris Toys sells a Touch DRO system which uses Bluetooth, phone and digital calipers. The folks using it seem to find it reliable. www.yuriystoys.com/p/android-dro.html Dave.
Hi, how do we enter numbers in two separate textboxes and that would be sent to the Arduino? But only one or both textboxes can be used at any time to change the corresponding values of the variables in Arduino, with a single "Send" button in app for both textboxes. Thanks in advance....
Yes, most of my videos use a nano. I am going to start moving to the ESP32 but is is taking time. I have a lot invested in my Nano configuration. I really like that little board.
Hello sir Can you make a similar project using Nextion display with some advanced features like enter distance to move and limit switches etc. Greetings
That would be a fairly involved video but I will add it to my list of possible videos. I will definitely keep the distance portion in mind. I think I can tie that one into my video on controlling the stepper directly with the Nextion. I hope to have that one in the next week or two. I have spent the last year trying to build up a list of simple videos on the functionality of the Nextion and Arduino. I am starting to move into control (like I wanted to when I started the channel) . I plan on slowly building more and more intricate videos as I move through this year. Thanks for watching.
The new video on ESP32 and wifi posted tonight. It will probably not cover what you need but please watch and ask any question in that video. I will try to help you more.
Thanks for the good video. It's nice when you follow a tutorial and your own prototype works. Thanks for the detailed explanations.
You are welcome!
This is awesome!! Just what I was looking for. Thanks for creating!
You're very welcome!
This is awesome!! Just what I needed.
Glad it was helpful!
very much bedankt i hope patrick likes this !
Thanks for watching
Awesome video, this is exactly what I've been looking for. Is the source code for Arduino still available anywhere?
Thanks for the compliment. You can request the files by going to the "need help" section at www.cheapcontrols.com

I am not sure how you would do that. Good Luck and thanks for watching.
Hi, the link for code you put in doesn't work anymore, could you somehow send a code, thanks.
I changed the link to the code. It should work now.
@@CheapControls Thank you!
When I connect to bluetooth module through app and try to move motor forward or back it just keeps spinning and nothing happens
That can happen when you get a pair backward.
Hello, link for the code is not working anymore, can you update it ?
You have to go to www.cheapcontrols.com and request the code.
Can I use nano board for this?

Hey, i try the code and got an issue, its says motorDelay was not declared on this scope. I use esp32 for the board. Please help
I sent you the code a few minutes ago. Sorry for the delay
@@CheapControls awesome, thank you so much

hello bro can we perform same project on arduino uno if yes what are the changes we have to made?
I believe I did the video with a nano. I don't think you need to change anything.
What if you will control 4 stepper motor??
You would add the extra outputs
Excuse me, could you provide me with a link to download the arduino programming and the application apk
You can message me over on facebook or leave a comment at the cheap controls website with your email address and I will send you what I have.
Can sent me all the information nabilahathirah11@gmail.com
when I put my code in arduino, the motor is running and app is not responding
That is too bad. I am sorry you are having issues.
@@CheapControlsI just did something wrong, video is great, everything is working as it should be ☺️
can u make with wifi please sir i soooo need please :( im stack with my project
I will be switching to the the ESP32 for a few videos. They will involve WiFi
@@CheapControls thank you sir
