If I am a size 5 in big kids and I got a size 3 skate would it fit good?

That's a good place to start, and usually fits well. If you order skates online make sure when you put them on, you also tie them up to see how they feel. If you are close to a store, you can get your foot scanned to see what size would be recommended for you!

Does PureHockey sell goalie gear? Is it the same for goalie skates? If so can you make a video on PureHocey goalie skates? Why don't you recommend DIY the baking?

We do sell goalie gear. You will find our selection at goalie.purehockey.com. The sizing would be the same for goalie skates. We don't recommend DIY because a lot can go wrong and we don't want anyone to ruin their skates!

Minimum is 2 sizes down. The 1-1.5 rule is so outdated. Don't know why CCM and Bauer suggest this when it's factually incorrect.

Everyone is different with what feels best to them. The 1-1.5 size is a general guide and starting point for people who are starting out. We will always suggest going into the closest Pure Hockey store to get your foot scanned and sized.

At minimum you should go 2 sizes down from your shoe size. If you’re 1 size down those skates are guaranteed to be too big. 1.5 sizes will most likely be too big too. This is outdated information. For a brand new video, I can’t believe you started off with this.
No mention of the pencil test for the rear of the skate or over the top of the foot? That’ll help further ensure fit from a length and volume perspective.
C’mon guys. This video may have been useful in 2010, but not 2024

Thank you for the feedback. Going 1-1.5 sizes down is a general guide for beginners and female sizing will vary as well, going down 2-2.5 from their shoe size. Everyone will be slightly different with their preference for fit but it's a starting point. We always recommend coming into a store to get sized properly.

Size 8 shoe. Have been wearing size 6 but recently 5.5 fits better. I agree with this dude
