Innova Mold Tier List!

- Here is my personal ranking for all of Innova's existing molds! This video is obviously highly subjective, so if you disagree with any of my opinions, I totally understand. Please leave a comment below to share what you'd do differently!
Here's the tier list template if you'd like to make one of your own!
tiermaker.com/...
Firebird, destroyer, teebird, thunderbird, roc, lepord, eagle, gator, avair not mandatory what kind of Innova player are you that's just sacralige.
Firebird and destroyer are both great, the rest I've heard of quite a lot because the pros use them so much. It seems the eagle and teebird are used a lot by the pros.
i realize Im kinda off topic but do anybody know of a good website to watch newly released series online?
Can’t trust this guy for this reason
Just for starters, the hated Dragon makes a GREAT Roller for beginners, also if you power down it gives great distance with very little effort. AND IT FLOATS ! Honestly, the fact that you haven't throw a majority of the Innova molds why even do this?
I can't believe the roc isn't in the Mando.. it's notorious for being the midrange that started it all. It's such a great shot shape disc. It's a wooded players must have.
Cool vid but kinda crazy you are making this list with a lot of very popular discs going in havent thrown category! Eagle and dart are awesome
I prefer mostly Prodigy discs, but a Destroyer, Wraith, and Roc3 will always be in my bag. Although the Destroyer and Wraith I could throw F2s or Fx4 instead, the Roc3 is completely unreplacable to me.
I'd spotted the Rat on the shelf and considered many times, just pulled the trigger and VERY pleased with that mold. Small diameter, smooth rim with no curve-in, flat top makes it great for forehands, and nice stability to work lines. FANTASTIC underrated disc.
Mako3 is the disc I would bag if I had to play a 1 disc round to save my life.
I have a habit of getting people custom starter sets (usually DX aviar, star aviar, champ Mako3, star leopard 3) and I always tell people to really mainly use that mako3 for the first year. It's a great teaching disc.
I love the mako3!! I can throw it up to 280’ on a dead straight line without much effort.
Facts
I'm so glad you had so may unthrown disc. For a beginner there are too many disc.
There are a few disc I will get because of your recommendation.
We seem to like the same molds
The Judge is arguably the best disc I've put in my bag. I immediately started saving strokes. I switched from the DX Aviar. It's rim was just too deep for my hand. I tried a Judge, loved it, went straight online and ordered 5. I got them in the classic blend. I use a couple as throwing putters and a couple for putting putters. Great vid. Liked and subscribed.
Completely agree about the Aviar! Was always so uncomfortable for me
The wraith is literally my favorite disc too
I bag both the stingray (-3 turn mid) and cobra (-2 turn). Both are reliably understable for mid-range turnover shots when I need them to hold an anhyzer or turn slowly to the right (when thrown flat) to get around obstacles. Then I use a mako3 or wombat3 for straight mid-range shots, and roc for overstable/hyzer shots. Mids are great for approaches.
if more than Half of the innova discs end up in "haven't thrown" maybe don’t make a tier list. just food for thought
wraith being mandatory because "it’s a destroyer for slower arm speed" is hypocritical for not putting the destroyer in mando by the way.
destroyer, shryke, and tern not in mando is just silly. I understand you can have your own opinion, but your opinion is wrong :)
I carry 3 Beasts in my bag and I love everyone of them. One is champion plastic and 2 in DX. One of the DX is beat in so it’s more flippy than the other DX which is more stable. The champion plastic is more over stable than the others.
I bag 3 beasts as well. My DX is flippy, the Star is fairly straight with good fade, and the champion is overstable.
I love the atlas man it Flys so straight with a nice fade at the end.. its def beginner friendly but my buddy that is semi pro, bags 2 of them and he can do anything with them..
Hearing people describe the rat, and watching a cardmate ace with it in the last tourney I played it, makes me want to try the rat...
Thunderbird & Firebird are probably mandos for me, and maybe the teebird. Atlas is always my underrated straight flying mid, as it's really the only mid from Innova I like to bag.
The mirage is sickkkk. Probably always going to have one in the bag. It's basically a baby uplink
if you like thunderbirds and firebirds... you'll appreciate an FL. Right in the slot distance wise and easy to control. So many extinct molds worth mentioning too.
You should do a Discraft version too
YESSSS
Old school 4chain soft magnets is king.
I HATE the Mako3….but it’s been so ridiculously crucial for me getting better that it is mandatory for me to have. It feels like crap. I have a hard time getting it to go straight at all. When I do, it has some distance though and perfecting that continues to help me throw other discs better. The leopard I love and consider that to be mandatory as well.
The roc is best disc innova makes and one of the best discs ever
Not a fan of the Leopard since 6 speeds are an inbetween class of discs. The Hawkeye which is a 7 to 8 speed I prefer, still need to throw the IT which I've heard is very understable.
Bought an IT. tick flippier and maybe a lil shorter/slower than leopard.
I have to give more love to the Wolf. Even though it's DX, it still has stayed consistent for a long time for me. I even putt putt with it sometimes. I have hit so many 100 footish shots with it that my buddy keeps saying..."Oh was that that Wolf again". The most versatile disc I have even thrown by a good margin.
I realize that tier lists are entirely opinion, and I'm not saying that you're necessarily wrong for having the opinions that you have, and I also understand that this video is almost a year old at this point. However, one critique that I will offer is: if you're doing a tier list of one manufacturer, you can't really compare discs to another manufacturer. A tier list of one would be for building a bag of that particular manufacturer. You put the firebird as mandatory because "there's no other disc from any manufacturer that does what it does." Being a primarily Innova thrower, I know that a DD Felon is (number-wise) basically the exact same disc, and a Discraft Raptor is only slightly different (slightly more glide & marginally less fade). Plenty of discs can fill the slot of a Firebird.
Every manufacturer has their firebird clone, so yes. I think it's silly to say the most popular overstable fairway that's copied time and time again is the only one of it's kind. Quite ignorant actually. I personally like the feel of a Fireball better. And even the name is a ripoff of a firebird 😅
That is a pretty large section of disc's you haven't thrown.
and you have thrown all of those?
@@benkeip6883 Not all but, then again im not trying to do tier list.
You haven’t thrown a Gator or Eagle or Wombat? You’re missing out! Also, the Roc should be in the mandatory bin if you ask me.
Can't throw a destroyer so he likes the boss...
You haven't thrown nearly half my bag! 2 discs I don't hear about often enough are the Gator, which I greatly prefer to the roc and recommend for anyone with a snappy fairway release. Or the Daedalus, its a great understable driver that's easy to throw, and flies the way a katana is supposed to fly.
Daedalus smacks
Does not know Innova discs well enough to do this properly. Has not throw enough and misplaced too many discs.
It was mostly for fun, I don't expect to be an expert on every mold that's been made and I definitely haven't thrown some of their more iconic molds, but I'm trying more! Thank you for watching, though!
Why offer a comprehensive review when your experience is so limited?
Time-waster
As a newer player can you explain the reasoning of having 6 wraiths in the bag to me?
They are all slightly more beat in or different molds or plastic which affects how overstable or understable they are
I feel like the 14 speed discs like the Colossus and Corvette should be used depending on the skill level
How can you put one of the greatest molds ever (the destroyer) in the same category as a hydra. I know everyone has their opinion but I think your opinion is wrong😂
Dude the Eagle does n't even make mandatory or very good....
loved your intake, I think it’s funny all these people saying you don’t know what you’re talking about as if you can’t have a different opinion lol, keep up the good work:)
The Jay is a great midrange! Also the IT.
The destroyer should be in mandatory, its the best distance driver of all time. Although there are many distance drivers that are the exact same or very similar its the OG, its the distance driver that all manufacturing companies try to replicate.
The fact that every destroyer is different is what makes them so good. It makes minimizing molds so easy. You can have cover the shots of a PD2, Zeus, Shryke, and Hades all with one mold.
Very true, the destroyer is a disc that would would probably have to pick out in a physical store. You can feel the wing and dome to sort of get a feel how it would fly 😀
And when you lose it, you can never replace it! It's much better to have different molds with different flight paths that are consistent.
Dude hasn't even thrown more than half of Innova's molds
Has anyone, really? I made the template so anyone else could do the same list if they wanted to - I just as easily could have ranked only molds I'd thrown
The cheetah is criminally underated or never thrown. It's such a solid disk for all kinds of shots.
I love the cheetah.
Pin this comment to the top👍.
If you have a physical store, destroyers that fly the same is easy to find, just have to check the dome and underwing shape, if its an aggressive curve towards the flightplate and domey, its OS, if its domey with a kind of neutral wing shape its perfect for 500ft hyzer flip throws😍
I want an understable destroyer :(
@@lomainzz Take that hyzerflip one and throw it straight into a tree trunk several times
Most of this is reverse of my personal preferences , I’ve thrown most of the haven’t even thrown , so overall I’d change it up a bit
The video title should be, I've thrown 5 of these and the rest you should watch a different video:) lmao
I prefer the FD3 to the Firebird but then again Firebirds vary greatly depending on plastic, dome, PLH. Also prefer the DD3 to the Destroyer. Very similar though.
Man, get a halo savant ASAP. Mandatory. It's what a thunderbird should be. Super similar to straighter runs of the thunderbird.
What's the difference to my Sidewinder? Any idea?
In my opinion the XD and Classic Roc are the best Innova molds, wish they were still in regular production 😔🤷.
Thank God I have a fresh pile of both molds but over the last 28 years it's getting pretty low and the used piles are steadily getting bigger 😂🤷.
If you really like the Firebird you should try the westside Ahti (Tournament plastic). I like it better than any Firebird I’ve ever thrown. It’s the perfect amount of over-stability
The Dragon is so much worse than any other disc I have ever thrown it deserves it's own category.
Rating a boss higher than a destroyer…. I’m gone
Nova felt like auto griplock for me. To the point where my bad habit has no swayed to early release.
I'd agree with alot of this except to me a Rat is mandatory I love that disc and wish more pros would throw it so we could get a champion rat lol
How can you say the Croc is the best and yet you have not thrown a Gator?
Have this friend who lazer beams dx archangels forehand. I've never seen anybody else throw so far and straight.
The wombat3 and cheetah are nice discs. Both are more understable than their flight numbers would have you think in my opinion. I'd love to get my hands on one of the halo plastic wombat3's that Dave is sporting in this video, ruclips.net/video/vqx8-S72ex4/видео.html. These are good discs for beginners, slower arms as well as more advanced players.
Also my valk came in super overstable somehow. Like a 161 Champ Valk was more overstable than my 172 teebird.
Mine did too. My G-Star Valk flies and glides just like a brick and goes about as far. Would like to try another one sometime but as is, not for me.
I can't believe a T-Bird is not mandatory.
Boss super consistent? Wow. I have had ones that flip always and ones that are like bricks. Some are domy, some are flat. One had insane glide, therefore it overshot the basket by 30m and went into pond - on the first shot.
I putt with an xt nova, I love it for putting
Not sure how the Leo and Leo3 aren't mandatory.
Mandatory innova molds for me are destroyer, and leopard.
JUST BRING BACK THE MONSTER YOU SAVAGES!!
You miss at least on disc and that is the wedge it's a weird disc but very good
I think you should go out and throw some of those items you havet yet. That section is awfully large.
leoprad 3, teebird +, firebird, thunderbird, viking, valkyrie, sidewinder, warith, archon, destoryer, tern......my innova bag. I carry a emac turth and buzz os......hate rocs...
My mandatory list is the atlas, teebird gator and Valkyrie!
I love my star valkyrie super over stable but I can huk that thing 350 easy forehand accurately
Perhaps you should throw more of the molds then redo your video. Also it would be helpful for newer players to be able to visually identify the discs after you have placed them on the board. Also “ bag” is traditionally a noun not a verb.
u need to try aaviar x3 they are niiiice! i need another in 175 star or pro plastic.
NORA'S are great throwers but the durability sucks and its unthrowable after a few tree hits
Shouldn’t do this when you haven’t thrown even the eagle
It was over a year ago, I was bored, oh well. I don't see much need to gatekeep having opinions lol.
I’m the only manta player and that’s ok
This is missing like half their molds
"it's virtually impossible to get 2 destroyers that fly the same."
That's just like your opinion man.
colossus wraith banshee leopard panther shark dart aviar
I have a katana 151gm gstar it rips flat and far for me so it depends on the person
I haven’t even finished watching this, but the destroyer take....yikes. Like the video though :)
Also get yourself a Dart
All the reasons you mentioned about the Roc3 is why you should throw a rocx3 imo
bro you cant have that many not thrown
No such thing as a bad disc🤷.
Throw them!
Dude doesn't even know.
This guy is not qualified to make a tier list for Innova AT ALL. He hasn’t thrown half of them lol
Looking for a gstar tee bird with plus mold if anyone willing to sell
Viking rune = nova
Destroyer not mandatory means I leave the video
You’re completely entitled to your opinions but this list is so whack
What is this tier list lol? Waste of my time, garbage reviews.
It took me half the video to realize the discs are in alphabetical order 🫤
