- This is the Huawei MateBook 13, a new addition to the company's ultra-slim notebook lineup, that now sits beside one of my favorite products of 2018. They might look very similar, but there are some substantial differences, as this computer is more geared to compete in a very different league. I would absolutely Love to have a Huawei laptop since I'm now a huge fan of their phones. I hope to win one of these Huawei laptops and see for myself just how sweet they really are.

Have the I7 version of the Matebook that I got in Hong Kong for just 8,000 HK (900euros) dollars.....no touch but it does have the Geforce 150 in it. Got it for quite the deal :p

AMD is killing it - I have got a Matebook 13 (2020) - Got for just 800$ -
AMD Ryzen-5
Memory- 16 DDR3
M.2- 512 SSD
Windows 10
Radeon Vega 8
USB- C Fast charging
Its for the price is unbelievable - Fast boot- from complete shutdown - 5-7 sec -
I use mainly for my work - Lots of typing , research, browser, documentation, Email , browser base system management, lots of video conferencing & Etc-
And I am a person who is used to Mac - I never loved the windows experience. This was my Windows experience after may be 8 -9 years - But I loved it - and I enjoy the time I spend with Matebook -
Don’t get me wrong this is not the best Laptop - of course not -
battery is only 6- hours ( But whenever I am at the desk I just plug it in it fine - charger is not too big easy to carry)
Only USB- C
When you plug a headphone with no Mic - you cant get the inbuild mic to work you must carry a headphone with an inbuild mic
But non of them are deal breaker for me - budget was not an issue for me - I wanted a windows for whatever reason - And I choose this - and I couldn’t believe what I got for 800$
I hate to say this - Macbook quality… and I love that about it.
I bought last years model for $299 on clearance at Walmart and I liked it so well I sold my MacBook. The new model is superior but I would not spend $1000 on a laptop unless it was a MacBook only because of resales value.

Yes. I heard some people bought the floor models for half that, even less if it was missing the charge cord.

I currently have the matebook13 available in my country which is around $1100 , but unfortunately it is not touch screen. Would it still be better to get the matebook13 or the HP envy x360 ryzen 5 ($950). Please help

The Laptop looks awesome, and that price tag is great. It just comes down to the fact that I prefer OSX to Windows or it would be a buy.

I just ordered this in Germany for 799, - Euro for the i5, integrated graphics, 256GB. We don't get the discrete graphics here.
Hab heute beim Media Markt in Österreich die Touch Version für 780€ bestellt. Interessanterweise scheint diese in AT verfügbar zu sein.

Is it good? What problems faced you?
@@shahdm.7359 No problems so far. It runs very good on battery, i'm getting about 7-8 hours depending on screen brightness. The screen is also good.

What is even more odd is that these models were already selling since last year...its the exact same laptops with the same specs but with a huge price increase of about 25%...what is going on?!

i just bought one i5 version and I think it has heat problem. my laptop's fans keep on running most of the time. and the heat coming from it sometimes unbearable.

You guys should stop comparing these to MacBooks. Why not just compare them to similar windows laptops?
I know Huawei is doing everything it can (design language, paying influencers...) to make people think these are MacBook alternatives but until they start running macOs, they aren't.

It's doesn't need to run MacOS to be an Macbook alternative. And in most cases the Macbook are regarded as best in their class for dimensions and such which is why RUclipsrs are comparing it to them.

RUclipsr are comparing it to Macs because it gets them attention and clicks and secondly, Huawei is encouraging them (directly or indirectly) to, because it brings attention to their products, marketing.
Mac users only make up about 15% of the PC market and these people are not exactly known to be checking for a windows alternative. Apple customers in general don't usually switch, when paid millions (celebrities endorsers)
Most of your favorite RUclipsrs and other influencers have business deals with Samsung, Huawei... (All but Apple) to promote their products, but they still stick with their Macs or iPhones.
I think they're alternatives to the Apple counterparts. Quite a lot of people don't buy their PCs just because they're in the Apple ecosystem. Older people who just want to do their job reliably and looking good in meetings, don't actually have to buy a Mac. And there's another, smaller, group of people, like me, who want the slick design, build and materials of the MacBooks, but absolutely hate MacOS. 🤷🏻♂️

And your case (hate MacOS) reinforces my point that people who buy Macs don't want Windows and mostly true the other way around (you)

Just being cheaper than macbook isnt a selling point...macbooks are already overpriced big time. This is way too expensive. They should decrease it by another 25% or even 30% off that price tag.
the macbook air is significantly less powerful then this as far as I can tell. That more then the price is the drawing point. I wanted to get the macbook air but that y series processor made it only like 5% faster than the 2013 macbook pro retina it would be replacing. This on the other as a base model has a very similar set of specs as the base 2018 macbook pro with touchbar that is 1800$ for 1000$ its the value proposition not so much the price.

For this price, they are a joke. However I have the UHD 620 and its OK for CS:GO, Overwatch etc.
