Im a detroit pistons fan. I went to this game. I still have my ticket. It also happened to b the only time i ever wore a visitors jersey to the game which was jordans bulls jersey. Greastest ever. Muchluv!
He was loved in Cleveland and Detroit… even Utah fans respected him. New York loves him. All these cities have every single reason to despise him. Yet his gameplay transcends the game. Truly the goat
I was at that game and had seen Jordan play at The Palace a bunch in the 1990s. My Dad had gotten us tickets. Since this was Preseason Jordan was going to rest and wasn't planning to play. Once he heard the arena sold out for a preseason game (which never happens) he decided to play simply for the paying crowd in one of the most hostile places he played in with the Bulls. That was a class act to do that for the opponent's fans.
A class act would be selling his shoes for $20 a pair and not $200 so that way the poor people can afford them and I think the only reason he played is so that Detroit wouldn't riot since they have a history of trying to fight players... like that fatso boy that ran on the court and got socked by Ron Artest lmao that was hilarious!
@@HBK970 I mean, that would be a class act as well. Wishing for a more charitable Jordan does not mean we can’t appreciate his acts of kindness. As long as he is with Nike, those shoes are gonna be expensive. I do think they should create a separate line for people that can’t afford Jordans, though.
@@benmoore42 Shaq had his own line at Walmart for a while and they were in the $20-30 range and then Stephon Marbury had his own shoes out for a little bit but they never seem to last. Surprisingly, And-1 shoes used to be really popular and expensive back in the early 00's and you could find them at Finish Line and other high end shoe stores but now they are sold at Walmart for $20.
That was the weakest introduction from the announcer. C'mon man, you're introducing the best player in the world coming back for one last ride, and you're saying it like it's a grocery store PA system alerting the customers that someone left their headlights on in the parking lot.
Alex Moen That is Mason in his season as the Pistons public address announcer. I remember reading that he felt great pressure filling the shoes of Ken Calvert who had the role during the Bad Boys and Grant Hill eras.
This was also the first game that the Pistons went back to their red, white, and blue uniforms from the teal. And the very beginning of a really good era of Detroit basketball.
Seeing Rip guard Stackhouse less than a year before being traded for each other is surreal. Rip had no way of knowing how much Detroit would be important in his career moving forward.
That's what led me to becoming a fan of Daft Punk! I first heard that song in 2017 while I was at Bowlero, and while I was watching this in 2019, I recognized that same song, so I searched up the lyrics and it was this song "ONE MORE TIME" by Daft Punk! Sadly, the two robots became human again after breaking up earlier this year. Thanks Daft Punk for making your music harder, better, faster, stronger.
MJ took three years off before playing for the Wizards; imagine the rust. In normal human years that’s like 10yrs. But yet, he was still effective on the court. That just shows how his talent was pure.
I had them when he dropped them in 01 I was 11 years old never came back out again due to bad sales hopefully it make a comeback but then again it’s been over 15 years some Jordan’s just not gonna see the light again it’s nuts gonna be a dead stock memory
1st minute of the gamr and as a Wizard... 1Blk 1Reb 2pts, this guy works fast!!! correct me if i am mistaken or wrong on that observation... hmmmmm🤔🤔🤔???
He was right... why would he need another coach once he just won 3 in a row twice with Phil ... why change a coach that’s winning? Over jealousy? MJ was right to protest against this kinda bs
+Reynolds Rivera This is Michael Jordan's first pre-season game as a Washington Wizard, which also doubles as the first time he donned a Wizards uniform. In this way, it's his first game as a member of the Wizards, albeit unofficially. His official regular season debut came against the New York Knicks less than a month later: ruclips.net/video/K3u-LAq-siU/видео.html.
Jordan fouled Russell as he shoved him out of the way to distance himself from him. It should of been a foul on Michael. But the refs gave him all the calls that's why
Did you actually watch basketball back in the 90's? Or are you judging the highlights by today's NBA rules? They hardly called a damn thing before the 2000's... Guys like Rodman and Malone couldn't play with today's rules. They'd foul out by half.

my family is from detroit. they still won't even watch Space Jam lol
Space Jam is awesome!
-chase thats hilarious 😂😂😂
You're not a real Pistons fan. Real Pistons fans hate Jordan.
MJ cheered in detroit?! now there's something i never thought id see

at age 40 still better than %80 player on the league.

What an idiot🤡
😅😅😅😅lol youre right
MJ was no where near the best player in the league when he was with the Wizards.
@@Nickgonelieyou know what he means
It is awkward for bulls fans to see their legend in a different uniform.
very😮

I’m surprised fans in DETROIT were cheering for Jordan at all

💯💯
Michael rocking the pre season goatee
started the game with block shot then rebound and scored the first 2 points in the game, what a legend !!!?
Nothing will top Jordan in the Bulls Jersey but he looks awesome in a Wizards Jersey.
Jordan much more goat
“ONE MORE TIME!!”.....that’s my shit lol

I'm almost starting to think that if Jordan played forward his entire career, he would've somehow been even better.
He would have had more than 6 rings
Also KWAME BROWN debut
KB: arguably the greatest Wizard in franchise history!!😂🤣✌
did nobody else notice ben wallace making a jumpshot?!
Hes made some threes is his career as well
Oh yeah,amazing!
+Bryant Chan Thought you guys might appreciate that.
He'd do it sometimes.
He can make three's as well, just like what he did to my Heat in game 7 of ECF in 05
Sold out pre season game
It’s hard to believe it wasn’t even 3 years after his final game he aged so fast .
It was definitely three full years, June 1998 to Oct. 2001.
What do you mean he aged fast? He doesn't even look any different from 1998
@@greyk610exactly,the only difference is Michael grow a beard and the game is in bad quality
Most love he's ever gotten in Detroit
man the success behind jordan was that he treated everything equally even if it were finals or a preseason game

Kwame brown played with jordan and kobe? Man he must have the greatest career ever
Puppet King must have crazy stories too 😳🤫

It seems like Jordan was prepping Rip Hamilton to become a champion 2 seasons later.
Wizards should have never traded Hamilton. I think if Jordan stayed for more seasons with Hamilton, I think the Wizards would have won a championship.
@@MT-tu8dt Agreed, Jerry Stack House was a step down.

Rusty and still killing those bums on the court mos def GOAT

The way Tyron Lue stood up after his second basket..we're all fans Michael.
He got a shot in the same spot every single time. For two seasons.

Ben Wallace had a beautiful jump shot they most told him not to shoot
I saw him make a garbage time 3 before the buzzer when they were down by 20
My favorite nba player like Michael Jordan said hi to him today
Michael Jordan in a Wizards jersey will never not be strange to me
Crazy (preseason) but Jordan and LeBron both played for the very time (Jordan Wizards) at the palace of Auburn Hills
Was at this game.
Wow Jordan was playing against my pistons first one back. And rip was one the wizards and one his ring with is a few years later
I remember watching this game live.
The ginger XVI. Nice. I personally loved watching Jordan on the Wizards.

I still got my Wizards shooting jacket.
First play back after three years… And he blocks a shot LOL… Not just a scorer
What if he decided to team up with Malone or Ewing like lebron do ?
This was as big as Duchovny coming back in cameos in the 8th and 9th seasons of X files
