That residue is plastic mold release agent. Rinsed off with soap and water, something I learned about from building scale models back in the day.

The pink/green Sega aesthetic is badass man! The plexi with the laminated/permanently attached art looks great too, way better than any paper prints I've done in the past. Need to look into that for my old modded to hell Madcatz SF4 and/or my Razer Panthera DB stick.
I'm sure for the Panthera at least you'd be able to get a plexi or something from them and have it EX wrapped or artwork done on it.

That stick looks beautiful. This makes me want to bite the bullet and get an arcade stick.
Don't do it. I thought getting one would be fun and make fighting games easier, but instead I spent a whole ton of money for something that I couldn't even use properly. If you haven't grown up playing arcade sticks then you will suck so bad on them and have buyer's remorse for the rest of your life .

@@hibye666 takes about 6 months of work to get comfortable the another 6 months to seriously kick some ass. Just like anything it just takes dedication.
I played in arcades rarely growing up, I started playing on an Arcade stick back in like 2012. There's growing pains associated with it, but you have to keep playing on it to get better over time. It's not something you'll just pick up and be good with fast. Took me a while going from a 360 Pad to stick to play Tekken at a reasonable level.
The only other alternative to installing screw ins on the Pearl or Obsidian is to cut a small portion of the rings unfortunately.
Anyways, looks amazing. Also sad about the Crowns fiasco as well. Thank goodness a friend of mine sold me a set of Gamerfingers. :)

I was researching if I should get a Qanba Pearl and was sold after seeing this.

For a noir-style button layout, I would stick with six buttons instead of the traditional eight.

Too bad artwork of the Versus City panels is never available. Still, thanks for sharing. What benefits of the screw-ins are there? I reused some old snap-ins from a custom into a Qanba Carbon, and some of them can shift laterally in the holes. The tabs were not in great condition from being jammed into a wooden panel for almost 15 years though.
Screwing don't break like snapins can, the tabs I've noticed are extremely fragile on transparent buttons. There's also teeth on one side of the nut so it can dog into the stick material (unless it's metal) which will keep it from moving around.
was trying to buy the pearl from the uk but it got sold out instant. (impossible to find sticks in europe)
