I picked up my 2010 ST1300 this year and have loved every minute of it. I paid just over $8000 which is a little high BUT it only had 3057 miles on it. It looks like showroom perfection! Thanks for the heads up on the clutch fluid. That’s the first time I heard that. I will look up how to do that.
@@IFixShet one last question. I have bled brakes before on my other bikes but the Honda ST has “linked” brakes. Any difference I should be warned about?
Awesome video lots of good points made. I love these bikes. I added speakers and I am also running the W702 system in the same position keep it going, brother looking forward to more videos.💪🏾
I love your passion when you talk about the Honda ST 1300, and I am so glad you're sticking to the ST 1300 your new bike looks absolutely freaking amazing congratulations! You said it about three times you have actually have to ride one of these to understand how amazingly awesome these bikes are they are very versatile bikes, they do any and everything and they do any and everything very very well, you want a long-distance tour the st1300can do it, you want a sport bike the ST1300 can do it. Off the line I have beat 600 cc motor motorcycles. You want a everyday commuter grocery getter the ST1300 is great at low speed maneuvers and tooling around town no problems. As usual good to see you making videos blessings to you and your family during this holiday season stay strong keep the videos coming. Thanks for sharing
I bought a brand new ST1300 police special back in 2016 now with with more than 34,000K miles, in contested city traffic daily use I can say this the best bike I’ve ever own. After two Interceptors ( RC46 ) ( 94 k miles ) and a Superhawk996 ( 120K miles ) the ST1300 is far and beyond the better all around bike. Perhaps the best Honda motorcycle ever made. However, beside to keep on top of the clutch fluid ( good advise! ) the LBS brake system requires the same care. Brake fluid retains moisture that moisture will cause corrosion that will block the fluid return hole in the secondary slave cylinder in the left side of the front wheel and in turn lock the rear wheel. ( common in the Interceptor and the Black bird and all LBS ) …,, otherwise a spectacular experience! (….. I’ve done the clutch the clutch slave cylinder… get ready!! )
Merry Christmas Dan 🎄🎄🎄 love your motorcycle videos have a good one far as I'm concerned Honda makes the best motorcycles good motorcycle touring motorcycle for you and the little woman good choice
Loved mine, had 86k on the clock when i sold it, but it was still silky smooth as new. Yes, changing clutch along with brake fluids every 2 years should be done as standard maintenance. This bike took me all over Europe, and when shod in a set of Bridgestones it could still be ridden at 100% in the rain much to the horror of my best mate on his new KTM1290 adventure S who I left in my wake in the Picos mountains his bikecwas 14k and id picked up the ST for less than 2K. The only downsides I found are the weight when manoeuvring and the heat kicked out when you are moving slowly in town in warm weather. I also highly recommend an upgrade seat, I had a Sargent seat which was perfect for long hauls of 500 miles or more. I also jacked the rear end preload right up as it's set too soft, it also decked out the centre stand fairly easily. Ideally a better rear shock would help with this, or you could just bin the centre stand especially if you have trouble heaving the bike up onto it, just keep a set of paddock standsxat home for maintenance.
That’s a gem of a find with only 4K miles and it looks mint. Great review and excellent point about the clutch fluid. I have the 2006 police edition that was never used in service (lucky) and agree that they are super comfortable and reliable bikes. Just wondering what aftermarket Navi system did you go with?
Thanks Dan. I just ordered the Carpuride W702 and my ST already has a ram mount by my handlebar clamp. It's different from your clamp. I'll try to find a url for it to post here.
Have the same year and color with ABS and 85k miles. Love it. Just one question,:you said 6 speed. Mine's only 5. I thought they all were. Anyway, I am looking forward to some long trips when it gets warm.
Yeah I actually didn't mean to talk about 6-speed that was an accident I was remembering my last St before I got this one and I forgot they were only five speed but 5-speed with long gear
@@IFixShet Absolutely. Geared perfectly for my tastes. Can cruise all day at 75 just over 4000 rpm. Low RPMs with that big engine definitely contributes to its unusual smoothness. Yours is a beauty.
I love mine. Traded a 2013 Harley bagger for my 2007. Couple things, what is the manufacturer of the navigation system? Intrigues me. Also, I've found my rear end on my 2007 is way too soft. Even at highest preload it is way too soft for my 200lb body. I've heard the police rear spring/shock combo is way better, designed for higher equipment load. Mine is a five speed, are you sure yours is six?

I know man I kept saying 6-speed I can't understand why I kept doing that. It's definitely a 5-speed with long gears
My police version felt pretty stiff in comparison. I'm actually a lot happier that the spring load is dampening much better on this version
@@IFixShet Perhaps my shock is just done. Thanks for the response.
Dommage le moteur ne tourne pas .
I have a 2014. There are some up to 2017. Police models afaik
@@nedmilburn I think in the US though they stopped at 2013
@IFixShet A lot of people in the states have reported models from as recent as 2017. They were all built in Japan afaik.
@@nedmilburn interesting 🤔 if I look up years of manufacture here it only says 2002 to 2013
The police model i think went through 17, but the civilian was as the last year
