I opened my bike's throttle. Drilled the punched points out on one side and removed the splined part, cleaned the shaft and put a lot of vaseline for lubrication. Working 100%
Were you able to see the return spring while you had it apart? I'd like to replace it with a weaker spring. The oem spring is too stiff and makes longer rides miserable.
Hey! Great info. I'm curious, you mentioned there were articles talking about failure and accidents. Any chance you could tell me where to find the articles, I would be interested in learning more.
Mine had many, many hard miles put on it. However, I've been noticing a high fail percentage for Throttle Grip Sensors on M8 bikes. They'll get it worked out on the next pressing I'm sure, but I would take it in and ask them to replace it again. Exaggerate a little. Any burps with their digital throttle sends them into a panic. As it should. Get it replaced again under warranty. Good luck.
@@nwroadrat I'm on my fourth bike that has had this problem and every single time, the dealer has tried to imply that there's nothing wrong. I've had two replaced under warranty on two different bikes, one replaced out of pocket on another bike. I am now on my fourth bike with the same issue. I just purchased a gently used 2018 Heritage Classic from Wild Child Cycles in Springtown, TX on December 16, 2022. The bike only had 260 miles on it. Today is January 2, 2023 and the bike now has 1,936 miles on it and here we go again. It has become obvious to me that age and wear is less relevant than the fact that many of these machines are equipped with defective parts. My 2019 Road King has over 67k miles and the throttle input is still buttery smooth. This is the part number for the twist grip sensor 32700094A. This replaces the outgoing model, part no. 32700094. If there is an "A" behind the number, this indicates a revision of that part. Since this has been a widely known problem for some time now, one would expect all current production bikes to be equipped with the latest revision. Sadly, I suspect that's not the case unless the new ones are going wonky as well.
If you purchase a replacement kit, it should come with instructions. Recommend dealer install though. This item they usually get right due to all the safety around it.
Man, a sticking throttle can cause Huge issues. Thanks for sharing bro.

Thank you for clearing up the sticking throttle issue. Straight back to the deanship for me!!!!
I realize it's kinda off topic but do anyone know a good site to stream new series online?

I would just do internet searches. Here's one I easily found.

2018 Heritage, 3k miles, and mine started to stick. Warranty covered it, but now the new one is starting to act up just a little. Not impressed.

I’ve been trying to find a new twist grip sensor for my 15 Streetglide and I cannot find one for the life of me any suggestions?
Hey I know it’s been a bit but was just curious what it cost to have the sensor replaced
I think $275, but they gave me a break and rounded it down. Next dealer for you, no obligation to do that. I'm well liked.
:-)
The part itself is $111 out the door
Parts will wear, I get that.. but that would piss me off. Just give me the wired set up.
Do any still exist anymore? Suspect everything will be a digital throttle soon.
ty for sharing...
I need to replace mine, its sticking. Can someone show me step by step how to replace this?

Oh, I believe everything he says!
