Please please please don’t ever stop making a sewing machine that isn’t computerized! I still have my 930 Bernina and a Bernina serger that came with it for $400.00. I know I can’t believe that either. Lol. I purchased a 1260 last year and I have to say that I love them both but my 960 is my favorite. I feel that being able to fine tune my stitches myself is what I prefer. It lets me get to know the personality of a sewing machine when it’s all manual. I love Bernina and I know that there are many more women besides me that wouldn’t trade our oldies but goodies in on the newer sewing machines.
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does any of you know a trick to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost the login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Benton Maxton i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Benton Maxton HOLY **** IT REALLY WORKED :O Literally got access to my IG account after roughly 40 minutes by using the site. Had to pay 15$ but definitely worth it =) Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
This was SO HELPFUL! I will be making my first Bernina purchase soon and was having a hard time telling which I’d really prefer! Thanks so much from Indianapolis, IN USA!
Thanks James for the presentation. Very informative. Am looking into Juki but my neighbor who works for Vince mentioned I should research Bernina. Definitely, can already see the stitch selections are easy to choose.
The upper Class modern Berninas are nice (my wife has got a B485) but my all-time favorite Bernina is my 70+Year old KL-117 with FHS (Hands-free-System) and originally attached 125W Scintilla (Bosh) Motor. I even prefer this old machine over my other Bernina, a 217-Industrial (made in 1984) because it runs way smoother. The KL-117 is imo the best sewing machine ever made - at least it's the best I've ever worked with.
I have a Bernina Nova I bought in 1980 and I haven't even changed the lightbulb. Would you believe it had 30 years warranty. Still have all receipts etc for it.It just keeps going. Have a 720 which much more complicated and has many more features but I prefer my old machine as it is more reliable. Have had the sensors replaced in 720 after 4 years and it often plays up.
hi loved the video so well presenred and informative. i bought my 1015SE from you abt 30 years ago still going strong. i now do a lot of quilting so am looking forward to popping into your shop for another Bernina are you still in Sutton Coldfield as i now live in Wales and travel to the midlands a lot. again thank you
I have a Record 730 still in mint condition and has been used and serviced regulalry. It must have at least a million miles on it..! I am aware it will become more difficult to service and get parts. Having recently taken up quilting, I am looking for a replacement machine. I am an excellent sewer but wondered if the 475 QE is too much machine for me. I am 70 years old and would appreciate your advice.
Hello, it is best to give us a call if you can so that we can further advise you on your next sewing machine. 0121 444 3978. Hope to speak to you soon!
Love the videos you do for this channel, really helpful for buyers. Very professionally recorded. I'm looking to buy a Bernina sewing machine for my partner. Bernina 720 Sewing Machine or the Bernina 740 Sewing Machine and I'm looking at your website, can you tell which model is the better of the two please? The only difference I can see is that the 740 is a newer model. Newer software updated?
Try other machines I think you will you will understand. I have a Janome and a Pfaff that are just a few years old. The Bernina sews more smoothly and steadily. Things like the needle threader are more stable and work more smoothly. The one on my Pfaff constantly breaks. Try one and see.
I bought a Bernette and it sounded like a bucket of bolts. It was definitely an inferior machine. I quickly called the store and told them it would not do. The store manager was not happy but I persisted and brought home a Bernina 230, which I don’t think they make anymore, but I am very happy with it. Bernina does not make Bernette.
I bought a pre-owned Husqvarna Viking Opal 690Q from you around the end of November, which was an absolute bargain!. I will definitely be coming to you for my next pre-owned embroidery machine!
Not sure why today's models are so expensive, except one thing durability. I currently have my mother in laws. Given how fastidious she was , I still have the original receipt of purchase from the early 1980's, the manual, all the feet and accessories available then, and several booklets with the imagery from the later 70's and early 80's. This model I am told is the first computerized version, the lights reminds me of the car Kit from Knight rider or the eyes of the Cylones of battle star galactica. I am not kidding. Scared me when I first turned it on. Oh it also hums. But my point is she used it for quilting for 20 some years (medium user) and them it can to me. I am using it for basics and an occasional period piece. It's nearly 40 yrs old but in pristine shape. That is a good selling point. I also have a ricar from the 70's and a turn of the century singer. All still working. Though I use the bernina for ease of use. Fyi I still need a class to learn how to use all it's features.
Well the cheaper machines are more plastic, that's for sure! Anything can fix a busted seam or take up a hem. The important parts are metal and highly polished. The bearings are far superior so the machine runs smoother and lasts longer. And they're also constructed to be repaired if necessary. Cheap machines (like a certain brand that used to be considered to be THE sewing machine) have a plastic case that's glued together - can't be repaired. Add to that Bernina's superior design using counterweights to minimize vibration, motion of the feed dogs, DC main motor, stepper motors to control stitch width and length, and so on. Predictably reliable in stitching accuracy no matter what your fabrics are or tough projects you ask it to do. Bernina doesn't cut corners. On the other hand, £6,450 for an upper-level machine - holy doodle!! No, I won't take two of them.
Berninas are amazing, sew steady and surely and last forever. I sewed a quilt on my mother in laws and I've wanted one ever since. Hers was at least 25 years old at the time, and shes still sewing on it today, we will just say many, many, years later - lol. Great machines.
Everything is going computerized. No longer will you be able to buy a machine and "never need to buy another" as we used to say. Now you'll need another one due to computer issues about every 10 years. That's the new corporate model. Here is an example of Bernina doing just that: ruclips.net/video/sd_B7ZuuE2k/видео.html It's not about making a better machine, it's about more sales and profit. Selling products you know you'll have to replace again later.
Absolutely the best video to explain all the models without raving on for too long like some people do.

this is SO helpful for a newbie like me, thank you!
I have question. How do I fix Bernina model 105? Rather, I know what is wrong, but I cannot manage to take it apart.
Would have been helpful to know the cost of each.
This is such a great informative video. Thanks!
Can you explain the difference between the Bernina and the Bernette? Is it just in features and a less expensively made machine?

Good evening, can someone tell me where I can purchase a Bernina Sewing Machine? Thank you.
Just enter Bernina sewing machines for sale near me...and a sewing store will pop up. You should see at least 2-3 stores show up.
Very informative thank you. Always knew these were the best.
:-)

Hello dear
I want to ask do you have models like Janome 393
I would love to know why berninas are so much more expensive than other similar machines? Are the inner workings all metal?

I could look up more info. This doesn’t really explain any of the machine just the model and pricing.

Is that guy is for sale too ? Lol 😆
I only want mechanical. Since they are discontinuing, I won’t be buying BERNINA.
