The FBI and Media Don’t Tell You How Many Lives Guns SAVE

  • The FBI says self-defense with a gun is RARE, and their statistics support that. The legacy media, Hollywood, and left-wing politicians use that data to push gun control.
But criminal justice researcher John Lott says the FBI ignores lots of cases where civilians’ guns SAVE LIVES.
    ----
To get our new weekly video from Stossel TV, sign up here: www.johnstosse...
    ----
In case after case that the FBI missed, civilians used their own guns to stop active shooters.
Raul Mendez was one of those heroes.
At a neighbor’s party, a guest opened fire and shot Mendez in the head.
Thankfully, he was able to recover and pull out his concealed gun.
He stopped the attacker from killing other party guests.
Yet his story, and that of many others, aren't recorded by the FBI. They get little media coverage.
Our new video shows why guns in the right hands save lives.

Both times I held the intruder at gun point until law enforcement arrived. agree; 100%
in China history as well as
      many Asian nations that did
      no possessed guns, they
      outlawed martial arts...
      it was all about control
if you practice illegal martial arts
you were arrested if you got caught
      here are a few examples:
China: Various dynasties, especially during the Qin and Han periods, attempted to suppress martial arts to maintain social order and consolidate power.
Japan: Before the Meiji Restoration (1868), there were periods when the ruling shogunate restricted certain martial practices to limit the power of the samurai class.
Korea: During the Joseon Dynasty, the state promoted Confucian ideals and discouraged practices, including martial arts, that were seen as promoting violence.
Vietnam: Various dynasties in Vietnam, particularly during times of foreign domination, sought to control and reduce the practice of martial arts to prevent rebellion.
      here's what i know
you can not reach the highest levels
of martial arts unless you were a truly
moral person...morality helps the martial artist
to level up...those than don't never fully achieve
      self actualization.

    • @Molon_Labe1776

100% all about control of citizens.
They only care about disarming law-abiding citizens which would make you reliant on the government to protect you. The only problem is that the police have no legal obligation to protect the public.(per several Supreme Court cases).
But they will allow switches to flood the U.S. market through Chinese marketplaces.
Another control move is the CBDC replacing cash. They will track every purchase and if you make the government mad they can freeze all your money like Canada did to the truckers during the Wuhan pandemic.
They are also now going after family farming worldwide with carbon mandates. Only a few conglomerate factory farming companies will be left, which will make it easier to control the nation's food supply.
We are the closest to a dystopian totalitarianism government as ever.

Because it's comparing apples to oranges. For all of its faults, I'm grateful that in my beautiful America, owning a firearm is a right, and that no stuffed-suit bureaucrat has the power to say to me "you don't need that."
Switzerland is peaceful, and because of it, people have the leisure of staying level-headed and realizing that the lawful person and the criminal have nothing to do with one another. I'm also sure that those weapons are very tightly controlled. But once there is a traumatic incident such as a school shooting, all rational thinking goes out the window and people will start screeching "ban the guns!" It happens all the time. Once-permissive countries such as Australia, Canada, and New Zealand went that route because once they saw one bad actor willing to commit atrocity, they went the path of least resistance and saw every person who owned an AR-15 as the enemy, even though those lawful gun owners posed no threat. But most of the time, governments ban weapons, not because they can be used against the public, but because they can be used against them.
All I can say to you is this. Hope and pray Switzerland never experiences a jump in firearm-related crime, or that one or more people with these automatic weapons never decides to go on a shooting spree, because only then will you see your country's permissiveness and beliefs on the subject put to the test.

A few years ago, before I retired, I was working in a neighborhood that was not the best. I was loading my van, preparing to leave, when I heard a commotion. I turned and saw a young man break away from his buddies on the corner and walk toward me at a rapid pace yelling loudly that he wanted what I had just loaded on the van. As he got nearer I turned to face him. His eyes went from my face down to my waist area, back to my face. Then his eyes got very large as he litterally skidded to a stop, turned and ran back to his friends yelling ‘I didn’t know he had a gun’! They all left the area. I left too. My gun was holstered and I never touched it. Its mere presence was enough to deter him from whatever he was going to do. This encounter was never part of anyone’s statistics as I never reported it to anyone but my coworkers. Things like this happen daily. Guns are a deterrent to crime.

She even decided to pull up on our car as we were leaving to scream at me some more. I told her to fuck off as I got in my car. In the sideview mirror, I saw her SO get out of the car and take a couple steps toward us. I was open carrying that day (CO has a preemption and our county abides by it), and I guess the bitch was able to think coherently enough to remember it, because she convinced him to get back in the car and leave. I also carried during COVID, didn't wear a mask in plenty of places, and people left me alone. A couple people obviously wanted to say something, saw my sidearm, shut their mouths, and walked quickly past. An armed society IS, in fact, a polite society.

Honestly, I can think of at least a hundred such calls.

There are 400 million registered guns in this country. By now it should be abundantly clear that gun violence would be 500% more prevalent were it not for the overwhelmingly responsible owners of those guns. Its more often the illegally owned guns that are responsible for gun violence. I dont own one, don't care to, but I fully support the 2nd amendment because I know if a gun ban would become law, the lawful guns would be seized, and the illegal ones would still be in the hands of evil doers. I dont need politically misrepresented FBI statistics to figure that out. Common sense.
