I already ordered the Cerave cream. Actually, I was debating between getting the Cerave cream or the Nivea soft cream lol. But I really want to try Cerave products.
Your review is spot-on and accurate. You covered many good points that are required to be understood before buying. I bought the Cerave hydrating cleanser a loooong time back in 2012 when not many people even knew about it. Back then it was recommended by a doctor when I had eczema on my face and that is the only way people knew about this cleanser. It was also I believe only available in the US back then. It was very moisturizing while cleaning the face very well. Chicago winters were brutal so I loved using it for that weather. My doctor also recommended this moisturizer but I didn't enjoy using it because of the same reason as you. It does leave a matte finish and feels like maybe I didn't apply enough, it's not very hydrating and overall I didn't enjoy using it as much as the cleanser. It's good that you provided alternate options. Because the moisturizer is not for dry to very dry skin like they say on the packaging. It will work for oily and combination skin better. I 100% agree with you on that. I also prefer more dewy, glowy, and juicy moisturizers like you said. I bought the moisturizer again a few years back to see if maybe my opinion would be changed since so many people say it is good and everyone is hyping it up on RUclips. But the experience now is worse than before, it burned my skin whenever I applied it. So I would caution people to buy the small tube first and test it before jumping in and buying the big tub.

Yess my top picks as i too have very dry skin- Bioderma atoderm creme, cosrx all in one snail cream, fae skin daily dip moisturizer, dot & key ceramide moisturizer
If you want you can also try the laneige cream skin refiner its a blessing for dry skin!
