    So I'm guessing that the thermal imaging could show you where moisture is likely, since moisture evaporation would tend to cool down that part of the wall, and you could then double check by pressing the meter on that part of the wall?

      Yes. If you turn the meter to the moisture meter mode it will show you the percentage of wetness on the wall

    What do the meter figures actually mean or reflect? Certainly the area you were in was substantially wet, but what do those numbers mean exactly? Thanks!

      Lemt me try my best here buddy.
      First number on top is the wetness of the moisture meter sensor on the back of the meter
      Then it's the temperature of the room
      DEW is dew point of the area it is reading
      MIX gpp is grains per pound. (I never have to use this option but feel free ro read up on it on the flir website
      And I think the VAP is vapor pressure. I also don't use this option.
      Hope this is helpful

    Can this pinpoint water lines hot or cold in the walls?

      If you don't drop it. They last a very long time. 5 years on some and some that have been dropped less

    at what distance does it detect moisture?

    • @migueltorres79
      @migueltorres79  3 года назад

      On the moisture meter mode it has to be on the wall. On the infrared you can see what's colder and what's hotter pretty much as far as any wall in the room is

      @@migueltorres79 ok, but in infrared it is capable of measuring at a greater distance, or not.

      Not really sure. Usually for infrared I use an flir e4 I think is the model #
