SYDNEY EISTEDDFOD SUCCESS 🏆🏅
A 10-hour dance day has come to a close, but the excitement remains! Our Orange Grove Public School dance teams dazzled on the iconic Sydney Opera House Concert Hall stage, going head-to-head with top private, public and independent schools. And what a testament to our school's commitment to 'excellence in dance education'! We're beaming with pride as we share our 2024 results with the community:
🥈Perry Street Dance Company scored a huge 90/100 and placed 2nd out of 24 schools in the P-2 Infants Dance Category with 'Penguin Parade'. This marks the third straight year our junior representative team, coached by Mr Tan and Ms Boulos, have placed in the top 2, a phenomenal achievement and record!
🥉Sapphire Dance Company scored 89/100 and placed 3rd in the K-6 Primary School Musical Theatre Category with their entertaining routine 'Mary Alice Smith'. Coached by Mrs Karkoulas and supported by Miss Williams, this was a very well-deserved result!
🏅Emerald Dance Company, coached by Mr Tan and Ms Boulos, scored a highly respectable 86/100 with their theatrical routine 'La Alegria'. This senior team narrowly missed out on a placing in what was an absolutely outstanding 3-6 Primary School Dance Category. It consisted of a whopping 36 schools!
As always, we're beyond proud of our dancers and grateful for the tireless efforts of our OGPS dance department who really do go above and beyond. Thanks also to the amazing team at Groove Nation, especially Miss Amy and Miss Bec, for their inventive choreography, and to our incredible parents and families for their unwavering support! We couldn't do it without you and really are just proud as punch!
