There's more than just censorship in the MV. "Ah Yeah" in Korean is a polite way of expressing that you're not that interested in something(mostly in a conversation or a question). In the beginning where they say: "Where do you live? Do you live alone?" EXID are saying "ah yeah"; basically hoping for the guy to stop asking them questions. It's a very empowering song about not looking at females as just objects. :)) it's smart
+Nsha76 I doubt that's the case. There was an interview video of them saying most of the members except Hani had no suitors or guys trying to hit on them. They insisted that please hit on us; keep 'em coming. Haha, in a funny and friendly way tho.
Fun fact! In the phrase "ah yeah," the yeah is a Korean word "예" which is pronounced as yea or yeah; meaning yes in English. But the Korean phrase "ah yea" "아 예" is an idiomatic phrase which not meaning like you are answering "ah yeah" to someone. Koreans use this "ah yea" idiom phrase as a polite way of saying (giving a signal) that you are not interested in such questions or conversions that whoever talks or asks to you. So like in the Intro of the song, a man asks "where do you live" and "do you live alone." Then EXID goes "ah yea" "ah yeah" meaning stop asking questions, I am not interested in, etc ( it is a negative phrase expressing you don't want to answer or talk or hear about it) Also somewhere in the lyrics, Hyelin sings "Stop asking those questions" and Hani sing "what is in your mind, u acting innocent" So I think this song has messages targeting men who work on girls for the purpose of sexual stuffs" What I have translated is from what the EIXD's producer, the Tiger, explained to make sure that people don't get confused by the title of the song; it may you think that EXID is answering Ah Yeah to the questions in the intro, but they are saying Ah Yea, the Korean idiom meaning don't ask though questions -I wanted to explain for those who may be confused or misunderstood along with the idiom. Even I was misunderstood; I thought they were saying ah yeah in English but they were saying the Korean idiom "ah yea." tl;dr -sum of this comment, the Korean idiom "Ah yea" doesn't have same meaning as "Ah yeah" in English. Just so you guys know! ^.^
MV was mocking the censorship system. They were forced to change the dance of Up and Down because of that so it's kinda like "we beat you to it. is this censored enough for you"
Tbh I was dissapointed at first but after listening to it a couple more times, I am now addicted to this song, I still like up&down better but this was pretty good, it was good enough. Their album is amazing tho.
I feel the exact same way! The first time i listened to Ah Yeah, i didnt really like it and prefered Up & Down but i gave it another shot and listened to it a few more times and then i really like it! I do like Up & Down more tho but i still really like Ah Yeah
Both is fine though, since the members thenselves admitted that they refer themselves as ex-id sometimes : ) of course, it's meant to be pronounced E-X-I-D.
I disagree with you. I think this song is better than Up & Down. I think it is more catchier although the choreography isn't the greatest. However, the message of the song reveals why the choreography is the way it is. Every-time I watch the video I see something new. So overall I would rank this video and song higher. Congrats to EXID.
Up&Down was catchier, but Ah Yeah was more dynamic in structure and notes. Hani's part contrasted with LE's and Junghwa was singing part is an upgrade compared to Up&Down (her notes seem higher and she holds her last note for a quarter beat long, which can be a huge difference when you sing). Both are masterpieces made by the hands of Shinsadong Tiger and rap machine LE.
I liked it a lot the video and the beats were great. Looking forward to the live stage performance. Up & Down was good but I think comparing the two to each other is liking comparing apples to oranges
I got into this song a bit more than I expected lol. It's really catchy to me. I dunno why, but I got a HUGE 90's/Salt & Peppa vibe; especially with that dance. And now that I think about it, the beat reminds me of "My Humps" by Black Eyed Peas XD haha
LE IS QUEEN and of course she wrote and produced all the songs on the entire album!! ♥️HANI AND LE♥️ Lol this is their trolling/payback to all the music shows that censored "up and down"/ forced them to change the dance moves 😏😂 loved your reaction JRE! Keep up the good work!! (:
Dre freaking got the meaning of the song and the MV in the first few seconds. Kudos to you bro! And yeah, it's about Korea's goal to censor everything and the double standard it bring along with it.
jre thanks for keeping it real. I get that the message behind the song was deep, but that doesn't make the song any better. Up and down was catchy and definitely a better jam
Catchy wise they're both good, EXID are the queens when it comes to catchy songs and choreography. Song wise up and down was better, ah yeah is a everywhere tbh but mv wise ah yeah, there's a better meaning to it tbh.
I liked this song a lot more than I liked up&down; but I guess everyone's different. I LOved the back and forth between Hani and LE, and I loved the beat too. Plus the video was awesome and they look sooo pretty. O.o
I think I like Ah Yeah slightly more. For me I feel like this song plays it a bit safe with their comeback, yet the song itself establishes a familiar formula for EXID. People can distinguish the members' roles in the song and identify them easily. It's similar to Up and Down, but the pacing feels better from verse to chorus in Ah Yeah.
I first didn't like their choreography because when I first listen to Ah Yeah in the teaser I was like: Yeah this girls are going to bring us a sexy choreography. Now I've read some things about the message and the censure etc so I think their weird movement in the "Ah Yeah" part is like a protest to censure maybe.

Nsha76 did you copy-paste or.....
***** I got a part of it from another comment on the mv :)
Nsha76 oh
Wow, that's really awesome, thank you!
+Nsha76 I doubt that's the case. There was an interview video of them saying most of the members except Hani had no suitors or guys trying to hit on them. They insisted that please hit on us; keep 'em coming. Haha, in a funny and friendly way tho.

Thank you so much
Wow thanks
MV was mocking the censorship system. They were forced to change the dance of Up and Down because of that so it's kinda like "we beat you to it. is this censored enough for you"
and then the youtube video they show in the mv is a little "thanks" to pharkil's fancam I guess
DUDE, I hear you. They're quickly becoming my new favorite girl group~

I agree
YES❤
Tbh I was dissapointed at first but after listening to it a couple more times, I am now addicted to this song, I still like up&down better but this was pretty good, it was good enough. Their album is amazing tho.
sansa A it does but it has it's own charm. and they did say ah yeah is part 2 of up&down
sansa A hahahah :D
I feel the exact same way! The first time i listened to Ah Yeah, i didnt really like it and prefered Up & Down but i gave it another shot and listened to it a few more times and then i really like it! I do like Up & Down more tho but i still really like Ah Yeah
Charlotte Tomasin yayyy :D we're the same hahhahha
they are queens
It's E-X-I-D though, not EK-SID
***** but on Weekly Idol they pronounced it like E-X-I-D and the members said that it's right... o.o
***** on gag concert they pronounced it as E-X-I-D i think you heard wrongly haha
Both is fine though, since the members thenselves admitted that they refer themselves as ex-id sometimes : ) of course, it's meant to be pronounced E-X-I-D.
+크리스
On the Im a killer sketch on GC the guy said E-X-I-D Hani
I know right I'm so tired of all the people who pronounced it EK-SID
I started loving them even more when I found out about the censor thing lmao
I disagree with you. I think this song is better than Up & Down. I think it is more catchier although the choreography isn't the greatest. However, the message of the song reveals why the choreography is the way it is. Every-time I watch the video I see something new. So overall I would rank this video and song higher. Congrats to EXID.
React to Hey You by 24K. I think you would enjoying dancing to this one.
Yessss I just requested that aswell ^^
Yeah, that would be really cool
Up&Down was catchier, but Ah Yeah was more dynamic in structure and notes. Hani's part contrasted with LE's and Junghwa was singing part is an upgrade compared to Up&Down (her notes seem higher and she holds her last note for a quarter beat long, which can be a huge difference when you sing). "So her butt is a puppy??" Lololol love it 😂😂😂👍
I liked it a lot the video and the beats were great. Looking forward to the live stage performance. Up & Down was good but I think comparing the two to each other is liking comparing apples to oranges
so, her but is puppy? hahaha, I laughed so hard!
Whahahhahahaha same
It's a message about the response they got from "Up & down" dance. Which is why they had to create a second dance to Up & down.
You didn't do a reaction to Cream by EXID and that my favorite song
Omg JRE have you seen exo mini webseries "EXO next door?" If you haven't it's awesome full of awkward humour 😂
Yeah its good! 😃
Yess it's hilarious!! It's in "kshowonline"
Its definitely my new obsession I've seen the 2 episodes that have been released a million times!
It makes me cringe
YuGatbans Han yeah! Especially the SeBeak scene 😝
Heeyeyyy. You should check out Bastarz (Block B) - Zero For Conduct, if you haven't already done so. (y) That beeeaaaat though
And thanks for the reaction video! Your reaction is the best! :-)))
"so her butt's a puppy"
I literally died
I got into this song a bit more than I expected lol. It's really catchy to me. I dunno why, but I got a HUGE 90's/Salt & Peppa vibe; especially with that dance. And now that I think about it, the beat reminds me of "My Humps" by Black Eyed Peas XD haha
Lol. "So her butt was a puppy?" HAHAHAHAHAHA.
his reaction cracks me up EVERY SINGLE TIME.xD
Still my fave EXID song to this day 🙌
"So, her butt's a puppy" LMAO
I like this one more million times than Up&down...like maaan this was awesome!!1 and you have to listen to it with HEADPHONES! It is mindblowing!!!

4:04 "I feel a good" Song of EXID LOLOLOL
LE IS QUEEN and of course she wrote and produced all the songs on the entire album!! ♥️HANI AND LE♥️
Lol this is their trolling/payback to all the music shows that censored "up and down"/ forced them to change the dance moves 😏😂 loved your reaction JRE! Keep up the good work!! (:
"so her butts a puppy?" OMG I DIED
Your reaction for this video was the same for me!! LOL
Damn you're fast!!
Remember Mad Clown's Fire M/V? The woman in that was Hani (the black-haired member)
OooooooHHH!!!!you have the same thought with me.....i thought it was kinda like mblaq oh yeah too...
He said ek-id I'm dying 😂😂
Oh hahahaha I seriously love it my stomach hurts when LE appears.. like seriously? the guys FACE
Dre freaking got the meaning of the song and the MV in the first few seconds. Kudos to you bro! And yeah, it's about Korea's goal to censor everything and the double standard it bring along with it.
yaaas i was waiting for this!!! ty!
2:02 killed that dance!
jre thanks for keeping it real. I get that the message behind the song was deep, but that doesn't make the song any better. Up and down was catchy and definitely a better jam
Wowww Uncle JRE!! Happy 1 Million Subscribers!!😶😶
WAIT YOU SAW THE TOO CORNER WHERE IT WENT FROM 19 down when they took the censors down I JUST noticed
Your smile is a one of a million!!!!
Catchy wise they're both good, EXID are the queens when it comes to catchy songs and choreography. Song wise up and down was better, ah yeah is a everywhere tbh but mv wise ah yeah, there's a better meaning to it tbh.
Can you review Niel's "Spring Love"?! he just released it and it's from his repackaged album.
there is no question about it: up and down is legendary and definitely better haha
классная группа)))а песня вообще крутая!)Exid & G.G. forever ever
haha well LE did feature on MBLAQ's 'Oh Yeah' so...
I think LE was actually the girl voice that featured on Oh Yeah so it makes sense why it sounds similar xD
rickieflower it's her. I thought it's Hyuna for years lol
I liked this song a lot more than I liked up&down; but I guess everyone's different.
I LOved the back and forth between Hani and LE, and I loved the beat too. Plus the video was awesome and they look sooo pretty. O.o
I like this one more than up and down!
PLEASE REACT TO CROSS GENE'S PLAY WITH ME.
Man lmao your reactions are the best
"I'm not good as a dancer" uh?? Come on, you're the king of body roll :)
"so he butts a puppy?" lmao
Instead of Ah Yeah I was thinking of Up & down
where can I get the 1988 HAT he is wearing?
i like both of them!! this new MV is more interesting !
i did the same thing like you when i watched their MV, i was singing mblaq oh yeah, LOL
I'm exaxtly thought the same as tou when you said that "ah yeah" part reminds of mblaq oh yeah
where do u live? do u live alone? where do u live? do u live alone? that's what they said in the beginning when they were whispering.
exid is soooo good!
Please make a reaction to Crossgene - play with me ^.^
you did this on my birthday xD
Yaaaaaaas ! Reminds me of ohyeah by mblaq
This song is a hip hop dance song telling a passive man to come closer. It doesn't mean about the censorship.
How would a song with jimin from AoA, hyuna, and the girl with the red dress sound?
its funny lol! "is her butt is puppy?"
I'm two years late but I feel like Ah Yeah is a kick in Korea's face, since all the music shows wanted to censor Up&Down's dance all the time.
it gets better when you listen to it more ^_^
Omg! Omg! Omg! JRE you have to watch Bastarz mv (zero for conduct) i'm sure you will like the beat is so freaking DOPE
I like this really much, but I can't say that it's better than up&down - yet. It's still a really good comeback.
Anyone notice the ratings change from i dont know to 18 to 15 to 12 to general i guess when the censorship is being removed XD
JRE QUICK BLOCK B
U asked "who's that girl?", I'll TELL YOU! Hyerin
Mini album first listen?
Up & Down is still catchier but I think this will be in my head soon.
JRE plz react to Crossgene Play with me. It's funny and cool!!
FC EXID ❤Leggo
Love your videos
When someone makes my fave food:Ah yeah.
When someone gives me an awesome gift:Ah yeah
When someone touches my cat:AH YEAH.
I prefer this MV to the one of Up&Down
About the song... I love them both in the same way ♥
"so her butts are puppy?" :)))))))))))) Best comment ever!!! :))
omg you should keep up with jyp's new show called sixteen!
LE seriously need to be in unpretty rapstar 2 that girl is a badass
I first didn't like their choreography because when I first listen to Ah Yeah in the teaser I was like: Yeah this girls are going to bring us a sexy choreography.
Now I've read some things about the message and the censure etc so I think their weird movement in the "Ah Yeah" part is like a protest to censure maybe.
React to Block B's subunit BASTARZ's new MV Conduct Zero!
When I hear them singing it sounds high pitched?
Mblaq reference at the end!! I miss Mblaq so much!
Your dancing is so funny😜😝
